Loving the watch. There are a few annoyances that I would like to see improved. One is the touchscreen itself. It takes a couple of swipes just the right way to change screens.A stronger GPS and Garmin needs more apps to add to it. Otherwise, great smart watch!

Got this for my mother who is a walker and golfer. She loves it and has found it easy to use. She had one problem connecting to Garmin, called them and they resolved it quickly. She upgraded to a leather band and wears it daily now. This was a great gift.

I love all the things that I can do with my watch. I use it mainly for cycling and running, but it never hurts to have all the notices right in front of me when I am pushing hard. Very simple to use and pairs well with other Garmin accessories.

I love my Vivoactive. I can swim or take a shower with it on. That was a major requirement as I live on a lake and have been known to jump in with a phone in my pocket. The app store is a bit lacking, but I assume it will improve over time.

As a runner and one who likes some smart watch capabilities, this fits the bill. GPS fires up quickly and now able to track all of my runs. Notifications work well for what I need.
Screen could be a bit brighter, but an accepting comprise for longer battery life. I can get a little more than a week between charges and that is with lots of notifications and 3-4 GPS enabled runs.
Overall like the watch.

This is my second vivoactive. I smashed my first one and researched the options before deciding to buy the same item. I like the ease of use, the accuracy for the running routes and times and the fact I can use it for golf yardages, cycling and swimming. All my activities also link to our company health program tracking making that painless. Great battery life and syncs with my Galaxy with little set up efforts.

I love to have my gps watch combined with fitness tracker. I still need to understand better how to manage the notifications. Less functionalities than my Garmin forerunner 220 regarding running workouts. In general very round product

I bought the Garmin Vivoactive a little over 2 years ago, with this being my fist smart watch/gps combo it has been great. The Gps tracking for my runs and pace have never let me down and the optional heart rate band works very well also. The only downside is there is not a standard stop watch for interval training, everything has to be run off of the same gps screen. The only thing keeping me from giving is 5 stars is the inability to program custom workouts like i could on my 910xt, other than that its a great watch and the smart notifications are super convenient!

I bought this as a gift for my father for his birthday/Father's Day. He seems to be very happy with it. He bikes a lot and likes being notified of calls/texts when riding.

I've been using the Vivoactive for about 1 month now, and I really like it. I had been looking for do-it-all device for tracking daily activity, sleep, and tracking. I've had a Garmin Forerunner 220 before, which was overkill for what I needed for running. I also have an Edge 810 for biking. I now use the Vivoactive for everything except biking (won't work with powermeters). I really like the interface, and it syncs with GPS nearly instantly. Now, that Garmin has released new firmware, it syncs better with Garmin Connect. My only complaint is that it doesn't use a standard USB charging cable. Overall, a great activity watch!

I was really excited to get my Vivoactive but it's been a disappointing purchase. I have an iphone 5s and it's rare that the phone app and the watch ever sync. I would estimate that my watch and phone app are synced about 20-30% of the time!! I've made at least 4 calls to the customer service line. They are very courteous but the conversation always turns to "well, you can turn off your phone and turn it back on" Sometimes that works but usually after turning my phone and my watch off and on do they sync. VERY FRUSTRATING!! My guess is Apple v. Garmin is the sync issue! That's just my hunch.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear you've had difficulty with syncing with your iPhone. As recommended, restarting both devices may fix a variety of issues, as it disconnects any Bluetooth connections, and closes any third-party applications that may be interfering with the Garmin Connect Mobile app. Also, please ensure you're pairing the watch using the Connect mobile app and not through the Bluetooth settings on your phone.
If possible, please try syncing the device using a computer, and Garmin Express: https://connect.garmin.com/en-US/start/ This could help determine the origination of the problem, as well as install any available software updates, if by chance, it was missed due to your difficulty syncing with the app.
Lastly, please ensure you're using the latest version of the Connect mobile app. Software updates have been released for both the device, as well as the iOS apps. These updates strengthened Bluetooth stability, which greatly improved syncing and reconnection.
We will continue to monitor performance, and offer updates for our apps to improve the overall user experience.
We appreciate your feedback, and apologize for the frustration and inconvenience. Thanks again. *CG

I wanted to upgrade from my vivofit in order to have more bells and whistles. I defiantly got that with this purchase. This watch does have some of the usual Garmin "quirks" such as synching with the app and occasionally locating the GPS signal but overall Garmin has made improvements in these areas. I like the array of widgets you can download from watch faces to extra stopwatches and the like.

Love my vivoactive! comfortable to wear all day. It seems to be the best combination of FitBit and a Garmin sports watch. I can track my steps and my running, walking, and riding all on the same watch. The timer app I downloaded works great as well. It gives me the versatility I need while fulfilling my daily needs for step tracking as well.
