Got this as a gift for my son, and it works well. Doesn't have a GPS, but does a good job of tracking his cross country runs, and he likes the size.

My wifes review, it works and its very reliable but I would like more color choices, ability to change more watch faces , ability to use garmin connect store. I liked the style of the fitbit but it broke and they had horrible customer service , so I am trying Garmin. That was my wifes comments. I personally have had 2 Garmin watches and love their products.

garmin has changed alot since the vivofit 2 model. I prefer the batteries that last a year. I do like that your text messaging can be turned off.

From Team Fitbit to Team Garmin

First of all, most companies have limited models that are small, feminine, digital, and give detailed information on an activity tracker. This one has all that. 'Not a fan of the traditional, analog face because it's bulky and requires you to guess on the minutes where the digital is more clear and you can access more information. If they had a way to interchange with more stylish bands, that would be even better. It does have a small "tab" on the band that prevents the little rubber holder from letting the excess band from slipping out which was a pleasant surprise. I don't hate Fitbit but when there was a warranty for them (which there no longer is), I had to replace mine 3 times over about 7 years or so. This time I replace it with a Garmin.

Exchanged Fitbit Versa for this. It doesn't appear to be as sensitive as Fitbit (tracking steps while I am driving, sitting at computer or laying down). It gives me the same things I was interested in monitoring - steps, heart rate, sleep, exercise and message notifications. I have a hard time getting it light up at night, and it doesn't notify me of text messages but I think I have it on some kind of do not disturb mode. Just have to play with it a bit more. Otherwise, I am pleased.

I purchased for its size, simplicity, and quality reviews. Not disappointed. I question the occasional inconsistent data, but the phone app's convenience balances that out.

I bought this Vivosmart 4 after my Vivofit of 5 1/2 Years basically conked out on me. For $100, this is a really, really good buy. Make sure you keep track of when it needs to be charged, and it's really aggressive increasing your step goal.

After reading reviews on the Fitbit products I decided to try this one out. I love the thinness of this product. You barely know it is on your wrist. It is SO easy to use, & it does it all. The Garmin app explained the easy set-up steps. And I love the weekly 45K step challenge. This motivates me to walk daily. I would highly recommend this product. Oh I should mention that the prongs on the charging piece broke before my year of use was even up. Customer service just sent me a new one free of charge. Great product & customer service. How can you go wrong?

I went through other brands, and other models and found this to be the most comfortable to sleep with and wear through out the day. Also, I love how it can track the type of weight lifting exercise you're doing and the number of reps.

This is a great little all day activity tracker. Mainly purchased for sleep tracking and all day HR tracking. This does not have a gps chip so it will not track runs very well. Based on my other gps watches, runs based on moveIQ will be off pretty substantially.

Garmin Vivosmart does what it is supposed to do and does it well. Step count is accurate and o2 and heart rate too. Only drawback is the non replaceable strap. If mine breaks I will find a way to MacGiver it.

It’s a fitness tracker that is small and simple to use. I like the Garmin app. It tracks everything I’m looking for. The band is small enough that you can’t really tell you have it in when you’re sleeping.

    Battery needs recharging

I was told by the Best Buy clerk that the big difference between the Garmin and the FitBit was that the Garmin had a battery that needed to be replaced once a year (much like a watch) and the FitBit needed recharging. When I got it home and out of the box...I found that this Garmin needs recharging at least once a week. I like the looks of this one..so chose not to return it... but, am disappointed in that feature.
