Customers are enthusiastic about the Vivosmart Activity Tracker's long battery life, ease of use, and comprehensive notifications. Many appreciate its water resistance and accurate step tracking capabilities, along with the comfortable fit and useful sleep tracking features. I wanted a fitness band that would push my texts out to me and this band does exactly that. Another thing I like about it is that it doesn't have a screen per say so there isn't any glare and you double tap the screen and you can see all the information.

I bought this for my wife and I.we love the fact it is waterproof for swimming vs Fitbit which isn't recommended for anything other than sweat and needs to be dried after exercise in general

Slim but easy to read screen. I can't say anything bad about this honestly. I didn't need the heart rate monitor so I got this one. With the app it is very easy to use. I feel like it is fairly accurate as well. I do lile the wake up alarm

I purchased this to replace an Up band that stopped vibrating to wake me up. This band has worked well in activity tracking, links well with other apps for meal tracking, and also has the sleep tracker. The only thing keeping this from a perfect review is that the area to touch to wake up the unit to view the screen can sometimes not be as responsive as I would like

I think I like this more for the notifications feature. In a meeting, i can, at a glance, see who is calling, see e-mails And messages.... All without having to pull out my phone.

It's perfect! The battery lasts about a week even with constant use and Bluetooth connection. It's so nice being able to see who's calling/texting without your phone being right on you. The find your phone option is really cool too!

I was in the market for an easy to use fitness tracker right out of the box with little set-up. The Garmin Vivosmart has been a great solution for maintaining fitness goals.

    Best Wrist Band So Far

Cons: 1) Don't support non-Latin languages, such as Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. 2) The Garmin Connect app on the phone needs more work. Now, it comes the good things. Pros: 1) Great notification feature! It is also a smart watch immediately! 2) It's waterproof! I can swim with the Vivosmart on. 3) Easy to find my phone! Use the band to make the phone sound. 4) Display time when needed. Also, alarm clock is available. So far, I'm very happy with vivosmart.

This is a great activity trainer for the price. The price point is about right for the device. I am currently on my second one as the screen began to fail after a couple of good hits while working out. Overall a decent basic activity tracker with some smart phone applications.

Great product but has it's quirks

I've used the Garmin for about a week and overall I think it's a great product. However on my phone it has this weird quirk of randomly losing the Bluetooth connection. Not only that but after losing connection it won't automatically reconnect and I have to go through the whole pairing process again. This happens multiple times a day. So even though the Garmin does just about everything I want it to do, I am returning it because the re-pairing bug is driving me nuts. I've been to the Garmin forums and see many others complaining about this issue. It looks like there is an issue with certain brands of Android phones. Some have the issue and some don't. So if you are lucky enough to have one of the phones that the Garmin plays nice with then you are all set. Let's talk about the things that the Vivosmart does well. It has just about all of the features that you would want in a fitness tracker, Pedometer, Calorie tracker, etc. I bought this unit because I wanted one with a heart rate monitor. I bought the premium HRM strap that goes with it and tried it while doing a kickboxing class. I found that the strap was a little annoying. I had it on pretty tight but it still moved around a little. However I primarily do weight lifting so I don't know if the strap would be OK in that venue. I LOVE that the Garmin is water resistant. I had a Withings tracker previously and I don't think that one was water resistant so I was always paranoid about getting it wet when washing my hands after using the restroom. I always took it off when taking a shower or doing the dishes. It's nice to not have to worry about that with the Garmin. You can just leave it on 24/7. The Connect app is also pretty good. It is supposed to sync with Myfitnesspal but that feature didn't work so well for me. So the bottom line is I think that the Vivosmart is one of the better fitness trackers out there. I just can't stand the repairing issue that it has with my phone.

Thank you so much for your review! I’m sorry to hear about the pairing issues that you experienced between your vívosmart and your smart phone. We have a list of Bluetooth Smart-compatible phones that have been confirmed to work with our vívosmart, which can be found here: http://j.mp/GRMNBTSmart. If your phone isn’t listed here then there’s a chance that it won’t be compatible or there may be connection issues.
It’s also important to ensure that the software on your device is up-to-date. You can do this by using our Garmin Express software, which can be found here: http://j.mp/GRMNExpress. Keeping your software up-to-date improves device performance and helps reduce bugs and issues, such as Bluetooth connection issues.
Regardless, I’m sorry to hear about these issues—but I definitely appreciate you taking time to write this review. Thank you for your input! (KS)Garmin

Bought this Garmin Vivosmart as a gift and the person loves it. It meets all of their expectations. This band is the perfect size and it's not bulky like the units with the built-in heart rate monitor.

I was in the market for a simple wrist band that would notify me when I get messages, emails, etc. I wanted something practical and with good battery life, and this seemed to fit best out of all the products I saw. I did return one unit due to the bottom line of pixels being very dim. The replacement I got has a few dim pixels in the bottom right corner of the display, but it's tolerable. Make sure you update firmware, as the first I got was way out of date.
