I have used Garmin products for over 20 years, so despite skeptical reviews, it was an easy choice. Easy set up with My Fitness Pal and Garmin Connect make it a versatile wearable technology with good resources. I enjoy weekly step challenges, tracking food and exercise and monitoring my sleep cycle. The vivosmart has allowed me to meet my fitness and weight loss goals.

As a techie I've tested a number of fitness devices either friends or those that I've purchased by far I think the Garmin device in my opinion is one of the best. first of all its low-profile black looks like a somewhat fashionable bracelet its design is simple and at times I forget I'm wearing it because it's waterproof you never have to take it off only to charge it and the move feature that reminds me to get out of my desk and start walking has been amazing this device inspires you to move inspires you to exercise for those of you looking for something to take you up step this is that device add the fact that you get notifications to your wrist from your smartphone that makes it even more functional great device, great fit , great price. Con if I had to give this device one "Nick" it would be the proprietary charger, itdoesn't always lend itself to being easily carry because of its size and certainly because of its design cannot be substituted for any type of micro charger nevertheless the wristband holds a six-day charge easily and I got a boatload of emails

I wanted a tracker but was drawn to this because I have a garmin running watch, use garmin connect and that this is the only one out there where I can see text messages from my phone.. The only bad part is that it is an "all or nothing" bluetooth feed, so you get alerts if an app needs an update etc. I also like the "move" alert when you are sitting still too long and the sleep tracker is scary accurate. I wear this along with my GPS watch and the distance of my runs are pretty close between both devices. I wish it had a built in heart rate monitor but I would buy it again.

Upgraded to Vivosmart from Fitbit Charge

I like it a lot better than the Fitbit Charge. I was an avid Fitbit user for almost 3 years, but started having device issues with the Force last year and then the Charge (after only 4 months). I decided to go with Garmin because of my FR 620 that I love and I haven't been disappointed with the Vivosmart. I love knowing if I am getting a call or text right on my wrist since sometimes I can't hear it when its in my purse. (Or if I forget and leave it on silent.) I do wish the Vivosmart auto tracked sleep like the Charge does, but its not a deal breaker. I LOVE how the Vivosmart sets goals for me each day based on the previous days steps and its not a static number. I also love the "Move" reminder, even though sometimes I tell it to go move itself. =) I haven't had any problems with Garmin Connect and uploading my data via Bluetooth. If you are considering this device or considering upgrading from Fitbit, you won't be disappointed! There are still lots of bells and whistles on this device I have yet to explore (after 2 months), but I'll get there!

This is an excellent Activity Tracker, which also has looks to it. It sits very nicely on my wrist and i haven't ever bothered to take it out, since this is Water Proof, a big plus and battery is super with 5-7 days, depending how much bluetooth activity you do, in terms of notifications. This is a definite buy, if you are out there in the market looking for an activity tracker.

We picked up the vivosmart to replace our vivofit's after it was impossible to purchase replacement batteries. So far so good. The large is a pretty big size and fits my husband to problem. The small is also true to size. initial syncing with your phone may go smooth but may not. 1 connected just fine the other not so much we had to unpair it a few times for it to really sync correctly. But all in all we are both happy with all of the features and notification ability,

First of all, I will recommend this smart wristband, Garmin Vivosmart, to other people. It is the only one that is water proof (shower & swimming). Pros : Water Proof Alarm clock iPhone notifications (calls and texts) Brief snippet of emails Garmin Connect application Comfort Design Heart Rate Monitor Sleep Monitoring and Tracking Cons (Better quality control of product - touch screen stops working) : I bought one of these for my son and myself. I had to return my sons three times to Best Buy for a replacement, which they gladly did within the 2 week period. After 5 weeks mine stopped working. I called Garmin and they sent me a replacement with no issue. NO problems since,

Bought this to track my activities and to track sleep. It has meet my expectations in those areas. The real plus - it's a watch, a reminder and works with my smartphone.. The notifications process is greatr as I have to leave my phone silenced much of my work day. We spent a lot of time investigating fitness bands and I feel we made a good choice. The sales person at Best Buy was very knowledgeable and was a real help in the final decision.

I went with this cause it was on sale and also waterproof, unlike the Fitbit's. It's ok, I'm on my second one cause the first one wouldn't charge brand new right out of the box. It definitely gets the job done and it's not very bulky. The only problem I've been having now is that it keeps saying Bluetooth disconnected and then Bluetooth connected.

I bought the vivosmart for two reasons: to replace my watch and to track my activity to help lose that stubborn 10 pounds. Setup: The setup was a bit of a pain as it had trouble pairing with my Droid Turbo running Kit Kat. Once I had it paired, it still had the occasional issue. I found that cycling the phone's bluetooth would fix things. I have also noticed that my phone will not pair with my Prius unless I turn off the vivosmart bluetooth. Use: As a watch I find it to be decent. I have turned on the display on movement feature so I don't have to double tap it all the time. I have been following the vivosmart advice and move when it reminds me I have been sitting too long. I don't know or care how accurate the step count is, as long as it is consistent, which I have found it to be. I have also thrown on my heart rate monitor and gone on a few walks. It does a good job at tracking my steps and my heart rate, producing a nice graph on the Garmin Connect web site. Biking: I was hoping to use this as a quick glimpse at my almost daily rides, but alas the vivosmart and my ANT+ speed sensor (Bontrager brand) do not work unless there are less than a foot apart. Needless to say I have disabled the speed tracking function and leave the vivosmart at home during rides. Phone Integration: I must say I really like the phone notification feature. A quick glimpse at the vivosmart let's me know if there is something I need to immediately address. I big plus during meetings. Overall I am really enjoying the device and would recommend it to someone that wants more than a lower end fitbit, but less than an Apple watch.

If you are looking for a good fitness band with more features than just a pedometer then this is the band for you. The new software updates allow you to not only read any notifications from your phone but clear them, answer/decline calls, control your iTunes, start/stop runs, and count your steps. It's is comfortable to wear and worry free with its waterproof casing. For its price, this band does a lot.

I looked at fitness trackers a long time before I finally settled on the vivosmart. It is way more accurate than my phone and has the added bonus of it showing you alerts from your phone. The band does have a problem with staying connected with the phone even if you are right next to it, but it has been getting better with each software update. Hardly disconnects randomly anymore.

Love the Garmin Vivosmart. I have recommended to many friends and they all love it. It is pretty accurate on your step count. It uploads automatically into your Garmin Connect. Updates automatically. Also, uploads into other fitness apps like Fitness Pal. Completely waterproof. I NEVER take it off. Shower with it. Swim with it in the pool and the ocean. Always works. Battery is decent as well. I need to recharge about every 3 days or so. It has smart technology so you can control your phone for the music app, get notifications from Facebook and your text and phone messages. Bonus is that it is think and looks like just a black bracelet. Definitely worth the money.

I purchased the Garmin VivoSmart a couple months ago. Overall I think this is a great product. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I have had a few issues with the bluetooth connection. I can't confirm if it is my cell phone but the issue is very minimal. It does everything it claims to do. I personally love that I can have it connected to my cellphone for a few different app notifications. It's obviously nothing like a smart watch but just enough. It does claim to be water resistant but because I wear it for most of the day, everyday, I don't wear it in the shower. I have yet to have any issues through hand washes and splashes. I have already recommend this product to several people.

This band doors what my wife wanted, but had a tough time syncing to my smart phone. There were some issues getting the weekly reports until she called the help desk. It even nags you too get up and move when you've been to sedentary. I have the Fitbit Charge HR and the setup and syncing are seamless. However the vivo smart has more options. She likes it, so I'm happy.
