This my 2nd activity tracker. previously, i used the Fitbit one. I like the Fitbit alot, but after about a year of use, i started to get some skin irritation where I kept it on my underwear waistband. I changed to Garmin because it was wrist based so no more irritated skin and I liked the notification features. Unfortunately, the Garmin has not performed as well as I would have liked on it's core use of activity tracking. Pros: Good notification features. Syncs with my iPhone to show txts, emails and phone calls. 5 day battery life Shows time by just raising the wrist Some audio playback controls Water resistant Cons: After 5 months the screen has died and it got really hot when I tried to charge it to see if the dead screen was a battery issue Doesn't sync well with MyFitnessPal app. Fitbit did a much better job of this. Doesn't seem to sync well with their own Garmin Connect app. The steps recorded on the Garmin VivoSmart do not match what the app shows after syncing. Wrist based fitness tracker doesn't capture all movement like one attached to the waistband. If hand is stationary (ie: in a jacket pocket or on a shopping cart) your steps don't get counted. Doesn't track flights of stairs climbed like the Fitbit did. Hopefully Garmin customer service will be able to replace this device now that the screen has stopped working. It's only 5 months old...

Love that it tracks your sleep pattern as well as exercise information! Clock is easily readable which is the main reason I looked into the Garmin. No need to wear both watch & fitness tracker! Waterproof is the bonus!!!!

It is great that the device is totally waterproof. This is a step above the rest. I can get my text, select emails and social media messages on this device so I am not always looking at my phone. One quick glance to be sure its not urgent and off I go. It tracks my activity if I am inactive it reminds me to MOVE which I need to be reminded. I love that it also shows if I am restless and do not get a good night sleep so I can make the adjustments needed.

I was looking for a band that was easy to use, and water proof. This one works for me. Only need to take it off once a week for a charge. Good readout of the screen.

We've had a few of these (3) in he house since Christmas. I did some online research prior to selecting the Garmin. The thing I like best about this is that it's waterproof so you don't need to constantly take it off. There are few trackers that are waterproof of that you can swim with. The battery lasts for a week on average. The interface is acceptable and intuitive. I'm not all that into the multi layered reports and data tracking but feel it easily provides more than enough information for beginner to intermediate users. Great for all ages as both of my kids also wear one.

This is a really slick fitness tracker. I love that you can customize the display. I love that it's waterproof and not too big. I love the responsiveness of the tap and swipe features. Two things could make it better - the font for the notifications from my iPhone are a little too small and without my reading glasses, I can't read it. That defeats the point, since it's easier to just pull out my phone and look. Yes, I have the font sizes set large on my phone! The other thing that would make it better would be a built in heart rate monitor. Still a really nice fitness tracker!

Bought this for my wife. She is actually wearing it and she likes it a lot. She likes the notification features (text messages, phone calls, etc). She also likes the fact that she gets nudged when she has been inactive for too long. Only thing is that it does not account for stairs like the fitbit one.

I love this. I really just needed something to track my steps, time and distance and this is great cuz it has a couple other features. A little annoying that I can't figure out how to get it to not notify my every time I lose Bluetooth connection but other than that it's great!

I love the features of my new Vivosmart tracker. Being able to sync with Myfitnesspal.com has given me a clearer view of what areas I need to work on in order to reach my weight loss goals. I love connecting with other owners and participating in group and individual challenges. Easy to set up, syncs with my Android phone easily and even shows my sleep pattern. I love it.x

I love my Garmin 410, so naturally I wanted a tracker for all other activities, not just running! I love how this reminds me to keep moving and striving for my goals! It keeps track of my sleep patterns to see if I'm getting the proper sleep. It is a watch that is discrete. It syncs up with my phone to keep me in touch without turning on my phone for updates.

I've had experience with various fitness trackers, including the first gen Fitbit, the Fitbit Charge HR as well as Garmin's own VivoFit. The VivoSmart seems to finally get it right, with good battery life, useful "smart" features like email/text/phone call notifications and a design that is durable and can be used without taking it off in the shower.

This is a great mix of a fitness tracker and smart watch. The unit is small and light weight. Display is easy to read. The battery lasts between 5 and 8 days. I liked it enough that I purchased one for each of my parents.

The Garmin Vivosmart does everything I wanted; it has a pedometer, notifications from my phone (texts, apps, etc), gives me the time and date, is waterproof and has an excellent battery life. I appreciate the smooth, rounded lines and it's too thick. I also like the pop of color. This was an excellent buy, especially in comparison to features on other pedometers and the cost and size of other smart watches like the Pebble or Apple watch.

I loved this fitness tracker! It was great concept, with the screen being hidden. Truly waterproof and mostly accurate. However, it did lack longevity, as in, the screen didn't last as long as it should! Any small bump could distort display and after a little while things began being hard to read on display. Had to Send back and have replace twice. Garmin handled the replacement process. Bought this for my mother-in-law so we all could have one. This one's battery finally went out and she decided not to replace as my wife and I have both upgraded to Apple watches.

After much research between the Vivosmart and the Fitbit HR Charge...I decided on the Vivosmart. I had purchased both models to try for a week, but Vivosmart was much more comfortable and waterproof. I am a mom of two who is constantly washing dishes, I didn't want to have to be taking if off all the time thruout the day. The Vivosmart is much more comfortable than the fitbit, and also looks more like a pretty accessory.

    Best tracker for small wrists

This tracker comes in small and large and the small fits me perfectly! This matters if you try on other types...the screen is huge and hangs off both sides of the wrist. This tracker is all one piece so there is no screen to protect and it is waterproof. You just tap the screen to view info. I wear this tracker constantly and hate to charge it but luckily it only needs it twice a week- 2 hours gives it a full charge and less than an hour for a boost!. I don't keep it synced to my phone for notifications but I do use this feature and it does not seem to drain the battery. I love the Garmin Connect app but the calories do not adjust with My Fitness Pal, only the steps are transferred. This info can be viewed on Connect since the calories sync fine. You can also track your sleep and all activities through the day. Also, Garmin customer service was fantastic in case you have questions or need their assistance!
