Customers highly value the GPS, heart rate tracking, and long battery life of the vivosmart HR+ Activity Tracker. Many appreciate its ease of use and waterproof design, finding it accurate for tracking steps, sleep, and other activities. However, some find the device bulky and the display could be improved. The design also received mixed feedback.

I chose this Garmin after researching various fitness trackers because it is waterproof and tracks swimming, and because of the GPS feature. The only problems I have with the GPS are that it takes about a minute to find the signal, and if I wish to check my heart rate or other feature during a timed activity, I must either "delete" or "save" the activity, and then start all over, locating the GPS signal, etc. Those features are annoying. It is comfortable, but definitely looks like a fitness tracker and could not pass for casual jewelry! I like the dark blue band, but don't care for its bright blue underside and side--would have preferred something more subtle, but didn't want gray/black either. I purchased this HR+ for $120 around Black Friday, and feel I got a good buy. Overall I'm happy with my purchase!

The watch was nice, but it is two small for my wrist and caused my wrist to rub raw so I had to stop wearing it.

I had been searchinga while for a good gps activity tracker. I tried several other activity bands but they just never performed well. The vivosmart hr+ is waterproof, tracks my daily steps, sleep patterns and heart rate. It is nice to be able to use the gps function to track my runs, now I don't have to wear my large running watch for my runs. The battery life has been pretty decent on my long runs with gps running.

I do love Garmin products! I wanted to like this tracker, and I loved everything about it except the look! The steps, heart rate, sleep tracking, notifications, alarms, were all great! However, coming from a Garmin round running watch, I just was unable to get used to the look (that was the only reason for my return). Now, if you want an activity tracker that is waterproof, this is an awesome tracker!

It is a bit bigger than my old vivosmart. This has a heart rate monitor which is nice. Even though it is a bit bigger it is still pretty comfortable. I like how it monitors sleep, steps, stairs, calories, distance, etc. Depending on usage, charge lasts a few days. Overall, I am happy with my purchase,

It's a great all around activity tracker with GPS and heart monitor. I can track my steps, sleep, stairs climbed, calories burned, check the weather, and get notifications from my phone. I was looking for a running watch that could track my runs with GPS and heart rate. I'm a newer runner so I didn't need all the advanced features of a Running watch. With this watch I can track my distance, pace, time, and heart rate from my runs. Garmin Connect app gives a lot of I formation about my runs. I can also track calories burned, heart rate, etc during my workouts at the gym including in the pool (it's water proof). Now I can see exactly how many calories I'm burning in a Body Pump class or during a swim class. The band is not that big either so I feel comfortable wearing it all day. So far I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Pretty accurate for steps and HR. Love that messages show up on the tracker. Great battery life. Easy to use. And alerts when phone is out of range Con: drains phone when app is connected.

I had a Fitbit Charge HR for 6 months and during that time I went through 3 of them that stopped working/charging correctly. There is a reason why Fitbit sends you a new one at the drop of a hat. Decided to get this since I had a good Garmin Forerunner for years. I love this tracker. So nice not to have to take it off for a shower or playing in the pool with my kids. I've used about every function, including "find my phone" so I can find my phone in the seat cushions after the kids are done playing games on it! It even sends run tracking info to the Strava app so you can track your runs on a map! Garmin Connect app interacts with MyFitnessPal app also so you can log your calorie intake, weight, etc. It charges from empty to full in an hour or less. The only negative I can think of is that HR monitor isn't going to be as exact as a chest strap as others have said, but I'm not an Olympic elite athlete, so it's good enough for me because wearing that chest strap was a bit of a pain for simple run or bike trip. The notifications from the phone can be a bit annoying at first, but you can manage them between your phone/tracker to reduce the frequency. I don't see how anyone could be disappointed with this tracker. I bought a IQ Shield screen protector film for mine since I'm bad about banging my watch into things as I'm walking around so I can't speak to whether the screen is prone to chipping or scratches. I've had mine a little less than one month. If something goes wrong, I'll update my review.

I used the vivosmart band for 1 year and liked it well enough however by the end of its run, the messages were nearly unintelligible. I skipped over the vivoSmart HR and went to the HR+.
Pros: small form factor compared to other fitness wearables, waterproof so I can use it for swimming workouts, HR seems to be fairly accurate when compared to manually checking my HR, controls my music easily, and is easy to read *during daylight hours.
Cons: the biggest con is it is VERY DIM at night. On its brightest setting it is still barely legible. I should be able to make it as bright as I would like for $250. If it drains battery for an extra few minutes at night when I check it, so be it.
I cannot set the alarm from the device, it must be done in the app on the phone or computer and then synced. Really?
Overall I like the device, its flexibility in monitoring according to my activity. It was worth the upgrade. I would recommend it with some reservations. I do not know that I would buy it again- not so much because of its own limitations, because I do like it, but because of the incredible leaps in form and function of other devices out there now.

I use it to track my workouts(walking, swimming, weightlifting, hiking) and using to see how much activity I do and when and where I could be doing more to improve my health. Also testing to see if better device is worthwhile in my future(will probably be getting fenix watch sometime). Realistically it can't be entirely accurate, but can give a reasonable amount of data to be helpful tool in improving your health.
The product and accompanying app work well enough for my needs.
-I track(not all readable from device), steps taken/distance, sleep, heart rate, calories burned, intensity minutes, distances, activities.
-can be used with MyFitnessPal app to log calories.
I have a couple gripes, but not that big of a deal.
-Some settings can only be changed through the app
-Floors counted doesn't work well, so I just remove the stat from showing on device.
-You can't set all types of activities(only walk, run, other) to the device, you log it as "other" and then edit the activity using the app afterwards.
-Can't change the band.
-I don't use certain functions, like music controls or notifications for phone, but always asks for permissions when connects even though it doesn't need it.
-sometimes gps takes a while to connect.
Overall I enjoy it and what it does outweighs the minor negatives. Would recommend to those looking for an activity tracker as long as you have realistic expectations of what it can do.

I was looking for a running GPS watch that wasn't too expensive but had some fun features. This one fit just fine. GPS works great. Tracks sleep pretty well and all other activities too. I like the notification feature. Oh and waterproof! Only reason why not 5 stars...it feels a little bulky on my little wrist for everyday. But for everything it provides, it's great

This unit keeps very accurate steps, Heart rate, sleep tracking. The one thing it lacks on is accurate floors climbed. I missed anywhere between 20 and 50 percent of the floors, Which is much better than other units I have had and ditched. I like the long battery life though I would like to see them upgrade the charger. I think Garmin did well with unit overall.

This is a good activity tracker - it seems accurate enough (no tracker will be perfect), the GPS works well, the heart rate sensor works pretty well, I love how it is waterproof... overall I am happy. The only thing I don't like about it is that it struggles to maintain a bluetooth connection to my iPhone SE - I have to reconnect them too often. My wife's tracker stays synced on her iPhone 5c just fine, so it might just be my phone or this individual activity tracker. Other than that issue, this tracker is awesome.

I have been using this for 2 months now and all is well. I connect it up to the Garmin Connect app and follow my progress on my iPad or phone. This seems to be waterproof as I wore in the shower a couple times, forgot to take it off before the shower. I may try it while swimming but not sure it will show much but it is supposed to be waterproof to 5 meters. I like the unit and it gives me all the info I need, steps, HR, weather, miles, etc.

This device is a prefect blend of features, size (relatively small), simplicity, and connectivity.
Features: (above your "normal" step counter)
GPS to track your run or ride outdoors
Heart rate on wrist (no extra strap to track down)
Sleep metrics
Plus the step counting and inactivity nudge
Pairs with phone to alert to calls and allows you to read texts
Size:
Purchased for my wife and she wears it all day/night without complaint. If it were too large it wouldn't get worn all the time. The GPS and on wrist HR tracking make it a little larger than some other trackers, but it's worth the trade for the increased functionality.
Simplicity:
Swipe screen to get to additional info
One button to start / stop workout session tracking, set sleep mode, etc.
No complaints from the better half about ease of use.
Connectivity:
Garmin app and website are great imo. I have been using the 910 XT triathlon watch for years to track my training and races and the data / graphs on the Garmin site are top notch
Connection via Bluetooth to the iPhone is nice to allow data sync on the fly and for text / call notifications
My only complaint. I didn't get myself one for Christmas

I purchased my Vivosmart HRplus almost a year ago and it is still working great. It gives me alerts to calls and texts as they come through on my phone. This is exactly what I needed because I have a job where I can't have my ringer on and the vibrate isn't very strong on my phone so I don't know when a call is coming in. My Vivosmart will always get my attention because it vibrates on my wrist. I do everything with it, even swimming, and it still works great.

This Garmin Vivosmart HR+ activity tracker which is essentially a Fitbit on steroid. It has 24/7 optical heart rate monitor and GPS built in and the specs to be the strongest fitness tracker on the market. I use it daily to track my walking and exercise, and so far the battery has lasted for more than 2 weeks when I use it without Bluetooth. I only turn on BT to sync the data to the app about once a week to see my trends and progress. It can track your sleep but I have not used the feature because I find it strange to wear a watch to sleep...

Love it! VERY Easy to use. Bought the Garmin but did not like how bulky it is and you cannot change the bands. So I bought a Fitbit Alta and wore both of them for 3 days. The only thing I liked about the Fitbit was the slender size and the ability to change bands. However, the performance of the Garmin, easy use, great app and accurate tracking...oh can't forget that it is waterproof (swim or shower in it) I chose the Garmin and returned the Fitbit. I would strongly recommend and yes I would buy again.

I previously used a FitBit Charge HR for approximately 10 months before it started causing a skin irritation issue. I returned my FitBit, which I loved, for a full return. I did a lot of homework before buying this device. I have to say that I love the Vivosmart HR+ even more than my Charge HR! l love the GPS, relatively long battery life, and data-driven app. The only thing missing from this platform compared to FitBit is the competition piece, which personally isn't a big concern for me. Also, I find the sleep to be less accurate than the Charge HR. Other than that, I think the Vivosmart excels! I've already converted three friends to Garmin from FitBit and all are happy with their purchases.

I like everything about my Garmin HR+. It links to my phone, is pretty accurate on my heart-rate, etc. Great device for sports. The only drawback is the thickness. If you want to wear it all day and wear long sleeve shirts for work, it makes the cuff very tight and uncomfortable. If you take your phone everywhere you exercise, buy the non-GPS version as it is thinner and the phone GPS is very accurate as well. I also bought the XL band as the regular band was on the last catch for my wrist (6 ft, 200lb guy).
