Working well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read all the reviews prior to purchasing. I have had no issues with the heart rate so far (only had 1 week) although I am still trying to find a balance between good heart rate readings and comfort. I tend to get the band to tight and the heart rate sensor will leave an indent in my arm and mild discomfort, or to loose and does not sense well. I think I have finally reached this balance but need to test still with exertion and compare it to my old chest strap HR monitor. Has connected and synced well with my i-phone

This is a great tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Fitbit HR, and though I have used Fitbit devices before successfully, I just was not that pleased with the overall look and feel for this model. The battery always seemed to be getting low and needed to be recharged, so much so I purchased a second charging cable to carry with me, just in case I had to get it back up and running. So I have purchased this Garmin and have been very happy with its added features and battery life. It just works and I don't have to think about it that much. Now I did have some trouble with the "Garmin Express" software that I use on my PC. But Garmin answered my phone call, was extremely helpful, and I ended up talking to the next person up. This was all done very nicely, I was impressed with the support they offered, and of course got it all back working normally and quickly.

Lots of Features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first fitness tracker, and it works pretty well for the most part. The user interface of the small touch screen plus a button is intuitive and not hard to figure out. Form factor is okay... the long rectangle shape of the main body plus the protruding heart rate sensor means it feels a little uncomfortable, but mostly it's tolerable. Build-quality is okay, although the main part gets scuffed pretty easily. I like the features this unit has, including the heart rate sensor and the waterproofing. Setting up and pairing to the smartphone is pretty easy. The Garmin Connect app is pretty easy to use if you just want to look at the standard metrics. I haven't tried any of the advanced features yet. As for accuracy, a unit such as this is not going to totally accurate when it comes to your movement or heart rate, but mostly it seems to be in the ballpark. I particularly like the sleep tracking and the intensity minute features. Rechargeable battery lasts about 4-5 days as promised. Hopefully this battery will survive for a long time since it's not user replaceable.

Great little tracker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is great! I personally use a Fitbit Surge and Apple Watch, so I have a basis for comparison. I bought 3 of these for family members. The Garmin app that connects with these is comparable to Fitbit's. All the info it tracks is nicely presented in the app. The app also lets you challenge other Garmin users just like the Fitbit community. You will want to use the app on your smartphone. The desktop software doesn't seem as reliable. The screen on the device is decent and the battery will last days before showing you the battery is getting low. The sensors will turn on the backlight when you lift your wrist up for viewing--just like any good tracker/smartwatch. This is waterproof and can track swimming based on arm motion automatically. Unfortunately, you can't currently manually track a swim as you can with a run. The touchscreen also isn't reliable when wet or under water--which is understandable given it conducts electricity. The VivoSmart HR displays notifications from your smartphone. If you keep the Garmin app open on your phone, it will keep the weather updated on your wrist, too.

It’s ok. Because I got it on sale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My mom really wanted a tracking band but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. I had recommended the vibosmart 3 because I loved it. But this one was on sale and a lot leas than the one I wanted for her. The kings she and I disliked was the lighting. It’s very dark. I mean, forget seeing much during the day. You can see better at night in the dark. But daylight is not in its favor. The other issue is when she turns on an activity such as walking, it tells her steps but not distance. Not in the app nor in the iPhone health app. Plus the health app recognizes the band as a secondary source of information and doesn’t add it to the total activity of te day. So when she opens the health up to see the distance walked through the whole day, I’m the only information that shows up is the iPhone’s (what she walked carrying the iPhone in her pocket). She has to find the Garmin band inside the app to see the steps the band recorded. So in other words, not very reliable, very dark and very difficult to sync with the health app. I give 3 stars because the Garmin app so far is the best/ most complete app anyone could wish for. It tracked sleep and it’s all right there. You can’t ask for a better app. And because I think it’s aomewhat accurate when it come wtonatep tracking. But after having used the vivosmart 3, this band left a lot to desire.

Vivosmart +HR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wear this everyday all day except when showering or when it's charging. I use it at least once a day to measure active time and hr related to activity such as walking, running, cycling or strength training. It's been my only watch since it arrived. This tracker is responsive, easy to use and read. The hr measurements seem similar to the equipment at the gym. I've been at the gym less and outdoors more since I've started using it. I use a gps app on the phone to monitor distance during outdoor activities. Now that I'm outdoors more, I wish I would have gotten the version with gps. When i bought it, I was working out in the gym more and didn't see the point of a gps feature. There is no communication between the gps app on my phone and the garmin app also on my phone to coordinate hr and distance for a given activity. I have to enter the information manually every time. I'm under the impression that garmin is trying to improve the app related to this tracker. I hope that is one of the things that will improve. I try to heed the "move" warnings. I have had competitions with a friend and as part of a group measured on our garmin apps. I do try to monitor sleep habits. If I wake up at night, it sometimes stops monitoring sleep even if I go back to sleep for a few more hours. Overall, I like to see how consistent my sleep is nightly and my average hours of sleep per night. When i run while pushing a stroller, I think it's not measuring steps. It appears to indicate that I am riding a bike. An alarm can be set. I use that as reminder frequently. I tried the stair tracking feature once. It measured more stairs going down than going up on the same stairs. It's convenient that you Can check weather, start and stop music, and check the battery from the tracker screen. You can connect the garmin app to the my fitness pal app to share info and measure calories consumed versus calories used. Overall the app is very useful for reviewing trends and progress. As usual, happy to purchase at best buy at a great price and for quality assurance.

Great HR tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The VivoSmart HR is the perfect activity tracker / HR Monitor. Great watch at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this watch about a year ago. I've noticed like many other reviewers that the step count is not accurate but it's around the right amount (give or take). Step count is very good (at least it seems accurate). Mileage is a little off compared to Google Earth comparison of the route. It's close enough to know which mile you are running in a 5k (if you miss the mile markers). I bought it mainly for the step count/heart rate monitor/time. It will vibrate/alert me if I have not been moving in a while (which can be annoying if I'm concentrating on something but you can put it in "do not disturb" mode and it won't bother you) I'm on the small boned side so I got the small/medium band. I can wear it without having it be on the smallest setting which is nice. For the price, I thought it was good enough to buy another one for my mom when she wanted to get an activity tracker. Overall it does what I want at a decent price but it's by no means the most accurate (thus loss of a star).

Great tool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read reviews and researched activity trackers before I decided on this one and I am so glad I did. I like that it reminds me to move when I have been inactive and I like that it will sync with other apps like weight watchers or my fitness pal. The only problem I have had is that I can't wear it to bed because when I do it runs the battery down too quickly. If I take it off before bed the battery will last for 4 days or more. I have worn it in a pool and shower and no problems. It keeps me on track.

Posted .Thank you for the positive review and the great feedback.
To help with battery life, an update was implemented to improve upon the vívosmart HR's all-day heart rate monitoring behavior for when it is not being worn. As such, you may see increased battery life when not wearing it, as the optical heart rate monitor is more conservative with how often it attempts to read your heart rate.

Love this!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my old fitness tracker and one of my requirements was being waterproof because I am a swimmer. That requirement limited the options. I am so pleased with this. The steps and calories burned are super accurate, it has options for running, walking, cardio, and other exercises, and of course is waterproof. It syncs with my phone and Myfitnesspal, tracks sleep, and has good battery life. The band is adjustable and fits my small wrist really well. Highly recommend.

Way more than a heart monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my girlfriend. She has a very active job that can become too much at times. With this she is able to monitor many things not just her heart rate. It always can display notifications from your phone.

Time will tell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having three fitbits fail to hold a charge properly, I switched to the Garmin. So far so good. The connection port that charges the Garmin is much sturdier than the fitbit. The Garmin is more functional in watch mode. On the fitbit I had to tap the band to see the clock and it didn't always work. The Garmin is visible at all times. The Garmin also switches screens by swiping instead of tapping which also works more consistently. The Garmin is also more waterproof than the fitbit. The only thing I wish were different was the length of time message alerts stay on the screen and the brightness of the alert. The type is small and by the time I notice the message (after a vibrating alert) it often disappears before I can focus in on it to read it. Other than that, I'm glad I made the switch. Investing in the maintenance agreement for both purchases paid off. I only had to pay for the original fitbit. With each failure, I was refunded my entire original amount including a refund of the maintenance agreement amount which I rolled over to cover the replacements.

For those that want more than a Fitbit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tracker has lived up to the expectations. It's been very accurate and tracks a multitude of activities, even under water. You won't regret the purchase. Only negatives are the cord is a pain to attach to charge and the app could use a better interface. Notifications from the phone are an added bonus.

Great tracker for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've enjoyed this device for a month, now and am very satisfied with the results. Use for counting steps and watching my intensity in aerobic class. It's fun seeing my sleep pattern and heart rhythm. I'm a hiker and backpacker so like that it is waterproof. Got a terrific discount from Best Buy.
