I bought this for my husband. He wears it all the time instead of his traditional watch. He enjoys the activity reminders, sleep features, heart rate and smart phone notifications. The only downside is he is pretty rough on it since he works in construction. He has scratched the face, but it hasn't affected the functions. Great price, too.

Great watch/pedometer for the money. The display is much better than the Fitbit, and the phone notifications are readable. I even have some notifications that work on this device that don't work on the Apple Watch (such as Maas360). The band is not terribly attractive, and the face scratches pretty easily, but I'm happy overall.

We were looking for a fitness tracker that was water proof, this one is. It tracks her sleeping habits and steps taken, it is synced with her IPhone and will tell her if she has a phone call or text, the Garmin does a multitude of things. Looks nice on her arm also.

I bought this as an exchange to my Garmin vivosmart3 that was having pixel issues so this was the next one up from it. So far I like the style and design, the bigger screen is easier for reading e-mail and text messages, and the features are better also, including the heart rate monitor. However I do not believe the HR is quite accurate but that may be because I don't like to wear the band on very tight. The battery also drains a little quicker than the Vivosmart 3 but it still last about a week on a regular charge and a moderate brightness on the screen. Of course its sweat and water resistant so that's a plus, so we'll see how long this one will last. So far im enjoying it.

I had this Garmin HR for almost a month. Would give a it a 5 star if it had a volume control for my Pandora app. Also wish was sleek (slim) like the fitsbit. But has a lot of functions for the price.

Bought this for my dad - he is 68. He has had heart problems for 25 years, but recently started having a fib (irregular and rapid beats).....and he has no clue when he is going into it. So I bought him this heart rate monitor to wear and keep in touch with where his heart rate is throughout the day. I actually bought 3 different brands and let him try them all.....but this one had the largest screen, was easiest to navigate through with a swipe of your finger, and was easiest to read without glasses. Highly recommended!

Bought this for my wife that wanted a smartwatch that was easy to use, not bulky, and had a sleek look. Happy with this purchase. My wife is not a tech person but was able to figure this device out and use it. The backlight has burned out on us, but the BestBuy Geek Squad protection plan allowed us to replace it. I would recommend purchasing the Geek Squad protection plan for any electronics. I have not seen any other store offer an extended protection plan that also includes accidental damage coverage.

Upgraded from the vivofit band with the heart monitor strap. This one is much more convenient and tracks steps / heart rate / Sleep / links to IPhone for weather, control playback of music, and receives text, Facebook Messenger and SKYPE messages right to the screen. Heat rate appears not as accurate but good enough for normal tracking purposes and that mitigates the minor accuracy issues. Good buy for tracking average workouts and metrics.. Recharging once a week is good and really quick as well.

I have been happy with this band. It is waterproof but be aware that water hitting the screen will operate its functions, which is mildly amusing but annoying. I'm glad it's sensitive I suppose. The other functions you can just look up so I won't waste time. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that it motivated me to hit my step and stair goals. Really thought I would just use the gym functions. Last, the extra large band is much longer than the regular band. I would say my wrist is somewhere in between. I would definitely try them on if I had the chance. The regular is quite small so this was the winner. BTW I have only had occasional sync issues which have always ironed out within a short time. So, band not quite right, occasional sync issues, and no screen lock feature take away 1 star. It's not perfect but I do recommend.

Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you're happy overall with your vívosmart HR, but wanted to take a moment to address some of the concerns raised within your review. We're sorry to hear about your concern with the wristband size. As mentioned, there are two sizes for the vívosmart HR. We recommend using the vívosmart HR sizing guide to help with deciding which size would fit best: http://www8.garmin.com/fitness/pdfs/vivosmartHR-band-sizing-guide.pdf

With regard to your sync troubles, there are a few troubleshooting suggestions that I'd like to make that may fix this issue and prevent it from reoccurring.

      1. Please ensure that the Garmin Connect Mobile app is up to date. If "auto updates" are enabled on your phone, you may already be up to date. If not, you can check the Google Play Store to see a list of app updates that are available, if any.
      2. Please ensure that your vívosmart HR has the latest firmware installed. We recommend using a computer to update the device via Garmin Express (http://software.garmin.com/en-US/express.html).
      3. Please ensure that you're following the pairing instructions as listed below. (Please note: Your vívosmart HR will not function properly if paired directly through the Bluetooth settings on your phone. It must be paired within the Garmin Connect Mobile app.)

      Pairing Instructions: http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={a84ed9c0-92f9-11e5-4cfe-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

Once your vívosmart HR and the Garmin Connect Mobile app are updated and the devices are paired, they should sync properly. If you continue to experience issues, Garmin Customer Care would be happy to offer additional troubleshooting assistance and can be reached using the contact information listed on our Support page (http://www.garmin.com/us/support/). If you'd like us to implement a screen lock feature, please feel free to suggest that we do so using the Garmin Ideas Portal (http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/). Ideas sent to us through this portal are read by Garmin innovation experts for future consideration.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to write your review! (KS) Garmin

I am happy with my purchase. I looked at a number of fitness trackers before settling in this one. The purchase was the right one. I like that it notifies me of alerts from my phone. One odd behavior is that as I read gmail e-mails the Vivosmart alerts me. Odd since I know I am reading the e-mail. Seems like if they skipped the vibration on reading an e-mail I could save on battery life. Which by the way the battery life is awesome. I had a Moto 360 and the battery did not last anywhere near the days that the battery lasts on this. Overall great purchase, cannot go wrong.

One thing that really swayed me on this was waterproof vs splash resistance on the Fitbit HR I looked at the Fitbit HR just because it is so popular but after talking with several actual users of both, I am glad I made this purchase. It is slightly thicker than the Fitbit but that was not a big deal for me. I also read some reviews complaining that it is not as accurate as a chest strap heart rate monitor, again not a deal breaker for me. I have worn this and a and a Wahoo Fitness chest strap monitor while cycling and they were within a couple of beats of each other.

I thought the band was easily as comfortable as the Fitbit, and works nicely for step counting. Since this does not have a GPS I found that the mileage was not entirely accurate, which was discouraging because my running pace and stride change (you need to manually enter the stride). The notifications are great, and make the device worthwhile, although honestly I'd probably go with the more expensive unit simply for the GPS.

You we will like this if you like to; track your HR, quick glance at weather and text messages, are tracking your steps to meet your goals, or are an active person. You will not like this if; you are an extreme athlete looking to track more than just steps, if you are looking for GPS tracking, looking for a water proof watch, like color on your screen with animated apps, long battery life.

I'am really happy with my wearable. Very easy to setup. Connect -Mobile app- installs even in my limited resources smartphone. Very reliable and embedded battery lasts almost a week without needing to recharge. I like the display geometry. It is small and engonomic. Only problem is realtive easy to scratch it. It provides tons of informatoin about personal workout user. Smathphone and web apps provide the user with friendly dashbords for showing charts and graphics. Really good product. Indeed!

Purchased for the heart rate and sleep monitor, everything else is a fun perk. Only two cons: 1) can barely read it in the dark due to a minimal back-light, so I turn it off completely to extend battery life (one charge is good for about 6 days); 2) can only be charged from a USB port. Not equipped with an AC adapter. These are just minor annoyances easily outweighed by the positives.
