Bought this unit to help monitor my HR due to recently having bypass surgery. I was please to find out it worked with MyFitnessPal and helped create a very detailed health record when combined. I tested the HR application during during multiple Cardiac Rehab sessions while "hard wired" to a hospital supplied monitor to find the Garmin within 3 beats of the Hard wired system.

The Garmin Vivosmart is a great product and has a large screen. It allows me to read whole messages, alerts me about weather changes and allows me to stay connected without always having my phone in hand. It also is awesome as it monitors my heart rate without having to pair it with a polar strap. I absolutely love this product. The only one flaw is that since it is a Garmin there is no gps built into it. At some point a newer version may include gps or even a software update.

The Hardware is outstanding. Heart rate is spot on almost all the time even in the pool. I gave up on Fitbit when it died while washing my hands.
The app is very good also but I've used the fitbit app and that is in my opinion the gold standard. The app covers all the basics and integrates with a large number of other apps. But you do have to use the other apps to track food and map your run or walk. But it does integrate well, almost seamlessly.

This is a big improvement over my previous tracker. It's a little thicker than I like but it is very comfortable on the wrist and does a good job of tracking my steps. Letting me know if I receive a text or phone call was a requirement when replacing my Striiv.. The screen is large and readable and the smart phone app is very user friendly.

My wife and I got tired of having issues with our Fitbits so thought we would give the Garmin try. So far we both love them, and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Easy set-up, syncs well with my iPhone 6. Holds battery charge well. Does everything the higher-end smartwatch does for a lot less cost. I would definitely recommend.

So far it's completly accurate. HR monitor seems to be on point so is the steps. The alarm vibration is really strong so it will definitely wake you up. If you intend to wear it all day and have a job that uses your hands a lot the face will get scratched quickly. It does sit high on your wrist and can get damaged easily.

What a great product this is! It is comfortable and the battery last for a couple days charge at a time-at least. Syncs great with iPhone and notifies of messages and such. It will allow me to call a number back using my connected phone. It charges relatively fast too. Love the sleep tracking on it! The features are great. I have had others but this one is the best! The app is pretty good too :)

I purchased the tracker mainly due to the fact that its one of the few ones that is waterproof, that was a big selling point. Battery lasts a lot longer than it actually describes. I like all the information that it provides me, because it also tells time I no longer wear my watch. All in all good device.

My wife and I purchased a pair if these Vivosmart HR trackers to help track our progress with walking and staying active. This does what it says, I have had little to no problems updating my step count or how many hours I slept. Overall a very good tracker, only wish the display was color.

I got this vivo after my first Gen vivosmart screen died. This vivo is a lot more accurate and offers the hr function that I lacked on the first gen. I'm giving it 4 stars because the Bluetooth link is occasionally weak and disconnects and it seems to be a little less accurate than a fitbit

My husband works outside and gets really dirty. He likes that it is waterproof, battery lasts a week and he can monitor his incoming calls and texts while working without messing with his phone. He had the older version but the screen cracked. He had the Best Buy plan and they upgraded him to this version. I really recommend the plan if you do a lot of physical work.

This device does everything that is advertised. It check your heart rate, keeps track of how many steps you take, also allows you to track certain activities like running, cardio, weights etc. The bad part about it is it's rather thick. That makes it difficult to wear while sleeping and during some normal day-to-day activities because it puts extra pressure on your wrist. The worst part about this device is that at least once a day, some of the application modules on the device, like the one that shows your phone notifications or the one that shows the weather etc., lose their connection to my phone. After doing quite a bit of searching online, I have found that the best way to fix this is to remove the device from your phone and re-add it. What a pain!

Excellent Activity Monitor for the Money

I happen to like Garmin activity bands. This one is an upgrade for me; it is the first time I have had one with heart rate monitoring. The heart rate is relatively accurate and the overall functionality of the band is excellent relative to the more pricey smartwatch versions. The small form factor makes this band much more useful in arduous activities. I am in Search & Rescue, so the larger bands or watches get torn off, while this has done very well. There is still the problem that you don't get "steps" counted when exercising on any device where your hands stay in one place (i.e. stair climber, exercise bike or regular bike, etc.). Manually entered activities do add to your active calories. Also, the measurement for "intense" training (high heart rate) does not adjust for the users age. I like the touch activated backlighting, and the Bluetooth E-mail/text reader functions smoothly, if you want to keep your paired cell phone's Blue Tooth on all the time (battery drain). If you are a large-frame male or female, definitely get the extra large size. Garmin bands have always run small and my extra large fits perfectly. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the product.
