    Has Seriously Changed My Life

With the release of the Apple Watch, the smart watch industry has been a huge area of curiosity for many. I did a LOT of research and realized the only things I really wanted a smartwatch for were the following: 1. Sleep tracking 2. Silent alarm (so I can wake up early without disturbing my partner) 3. Waterproof capability (I wanted something I wouldn't have to take off every time I went swimming, etc.) 4. Standalone run/walk tracking (which requires a built-in GPS) 5. Move alert (I sit all day long at work) 6. Affordability 7. Notifications if I don't have my phone around (But I don't need to respond to the notifications from my watch... Let's be serious...) When it came down to it, the Apple Watch only fit one of my requirements. I didn't want to drop $500 for something that was *kind of* useful. I wanted something that would literally enhance my life. The Garmin VivoActive has done that. I've had it for a little over a month now, and I have exercised more in the last month than I have in the last 5 years combined. I haven't weighed myself yet, but I'm certain I've lost weight, and I'm certain that the day I bought the VivoActive will be marked in my calendar as the day I decided to truly get fit. I couldn't recommend this more!! The ConnectIQ marketplace is still a bit sparse, but developers are adding cool apps every day. In reality, what do you really need to do on your watch? Not much... I haven't had any needs that the current app store can't resolve. Just FYI! Garmin is a trusted brand, a giant in the sport watch market, and a force to be reckoned with while the Apple Watch still tries to find its customer base.

I was iffy at first to get this watch because I thought it may look too manly on me, but it does not! It is slim and light weight and goes with almost every outfit. It has great connectivity to my iPhone via Bluetooth. I really like how well it tracks my runs GPS and gives me the stats on my phone and computer. The Garmin Connect App has worked well so far. I also enjoy that you can change the watch face and strap styles/colors. By the way, the battery life on this thing is great!!

I use this to track my steps and sleep and I also use it for my wake alarm. I wear it 24/7 and have zero issues with rashes or itching. I have notifications turned on so it notifies me of text, email and phone calls! I give it 4 stars ONLY because it doesn't have wifi capability otherwise id give it a five. But I knew that before I purchased it, and I'm glad I bought it anyway. Thanks, sjverdinjr

Great watch, replaced my 910xt with this light-weight, slim watch. I wear it everyday even with nice clothes :-) It is missing a few features that the 910 had (i.e. saved workouts) however there is an open community where some folks have created cool apps (gadgets) you can download. Very accurate for outside and inside running and biking! I like the fact I can get notifications to the watch when my phone is not close by, One downfall and not necessarily the watches fault (maybe it is) you need bluetooth turned on for synching to occur to your iPhone - which drains the phone battery,

If your looking for a fitness device with an actual GPS this is it! The GPS linked with the default activities does a great job of tracking your workouts. Once paired with your phone the notifications and music controls are a very nice added feature. This watch will appeal to the athletes an individual searching for a little tech to spice up there exercise routine.

The Garmin Vivoactive is more than a fitness tracker, and it functions perfectly! It is waterproof, which is a BIG plus for me and when not using GPS, I only charge it every 9-11 days! I could not imagine being happier with this watch/tracker and look forward to more apps and widgets being developed, further expanding its capabilities. Thank you Garmin and Best Buy for this great product!

I have been always intrigued with smartwatches but never really understood the fascination. I have owned a garmin forerunner 305 and it has helped me exercise more. Been using it for the past 3 years. I have a note 4 and it has a built in step counter. This started to make me more interested in an activity tracker and/or a smartwatch. I got a moto 360. Liked the smartwatch functionality and it also counted my steps... problem is, I had to charge it every night or else I would have a dead watch the following morning or if I'm lucky it would be dead in the afternoon... so I returned it. I got a vivofit. Loved the tracking and the 1 year battery life. Wore it day in and day out. It tracked my sleep and steps very nicely. I would wear the forerunner when exercising and the vivofit for everything else. So it made sense that I just got the vivoactive. I love that it is like a watch. It is not bulky like the other smartwatches, tho it is bulkier than the other activity trackers. I like that it does not require charging very often, maybe 5-7 days in between charges for me. That is with 3-5x/week of bike riding/running for at least 30 mins to more than an hour. I love that it has built in GPS and it has some smartwatch functionality. It's perfect for me and my needs. I am no athlete, but I like to stay active. I run and bike a lot. If you want an activity tracker with GPS, this should be on top of your list. If you want a smartwatch that can be an activity tracker, look somewhere else.

I've worn this in the hot tub after a work out for up to 30 mins, showers, swimming and workouts with no problem. Try that with others!!! Very slim line and dosen't have the bulk like the others. Charges fast. Love the auto update feature. Would love to have them make it round though .. I'd like to have two:o)

The slim design works great, especially for someone athletic and that doesn't normally wear watches! All functions true to description. One and only difficulty is getting Blue tooth and all functions synced and ready for use. Especially for a novice with electronics.

I did a ton of research before buying this product. I decided on the vivoactive because it had all of the GPS functions that I was looking for and it also had some of the smart watch functionality. The gps is great and has been spot on for cycling. I have used it for 14 of my rides which average about 26 miles each and it has performed very well. I have also used the golf app which is pretty handy. The battery life was a big deal for me and it has performed exactly as it is advertised. When not using gps you will lose roughly 10% battery life in 24 hours. When using gps you will lose roughly 10% battery life an hour. The notifications work well and the watch continues to improve with the advancement of the app store for the watch. I have been very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone that is considering it. The only warning I would give is that the screen probably needs the protector film as it could scratch easily if mountain bike riding or if you are rough with it.

Very happy with the Vivo Active. I have had it for a month now. It takes a while to download the right apps to suit your needs and customize the watch according to your requirements. But once that is done you get really comfortable with the watch. I primarily use it for running (both trail + treadmill) and it compares very well with the top end running watches in the market. I have also used the swimming option which works fine. The only complaint I have is it gets disconnected from the phone of and off. Over all really content with this purchase.

I have had 4 running watches, 2 from Garmin and I have to say, this is the best watch I've owned. It finds satellites faster than all my other watches. It is exstreamly accurate and 100% dependable. They say the battery life is up to 5 days but mine lasts longer even if I use the GPS tracking a few times a week. The weight is much lighter and is much thinner than my other watches as well.

THis is a good watch, GPS, and Activity Monitor. Monitoring activity from the wrist is not as accurate as an accelerometer, but good for an estimate of overall activity. The GPS works great for running and locks on to a signal quickly. Syncing with an IPhone has also been great. Where this watch might not be as good is with respect to the smart watch functionality. It displays notifications fine, but control of other items is lacking and at the moment there aren't many apps. However, I prefer the on-board GPS over the smart watch features anyways. So for me it works. YOur mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.

Has many great features and all are easy to use. Love having the notifications of texts on it. Wish I could read them if you have more then one. Maybe I haven't figured out how yet. The gof gps works great. The app on the phone is easy to use and has enough detail for my needs.

Good Running Watch, OK Smart Watch

The watch works well for a running watch, although the online and App interface could be done a little better. I had a Nike running watch previously and the App and website interface were more cohesive. The most frustrating thing about the watch is that everytime they update the firmware or software some function of the watch, whether it be Bluetooth connectivity, notifications, etc. start working intermittently. It is frustrating and sometimes difficult to reconcile the issue.
