I think Garmin did an amazing job with this watch. It does everything and then some. The golf GPS is amazingly accurate. The watch looks cool. I upgraded from the Garmin Vivosmart to the Garmin Vivoactive and I'm quite happy because of all the expanded features. The price is outstanding when comparing with other watches in the marketplace.

The Garmin Vivoactive is an excellent fitness tracker/watch. I had read other reviews that complained about software bugs, but my device has worked flawlessly. It quickly grabs a gps signal when I exercise and it always seems to be accurate within a few feet. After a usual day of exercise (5 mile run and 2 mile walk) and normal activity I have 90% battery life. I typically put it on the charger when I shower and dress in the morning and it is fully charged when I am finished. I have had several smart watches/fitness trackers and this is by far the best.

    Good for activity tracking, but...

The watch is a good choice for activity tracking, but the app selection for it is pretty poor. As long as you don't want many other features than the stock ones, you'll be happy. I also own a Vivosmart activity tracker, but wanted something more like a real watch. I've used this for about a month, but if I had it to do again, I would have stayed with the Vivosmart...there's just not enough difference to justify the additional cost.

The garmin I purchased is great. It does everything I wanted my "fitness" watch to do. I love that it tracks my sleep and steps. I love that I can use it when I run, swim, or bike. I do not see many watches that can do all three. Also, the battery life is amazing. I charge it every three weeks.

The watch is cool and will be very helpful in urging and recording activities. It doesn't seem too user-friendly, however, for those of us who are not terribly computer knowledgeable. Its instructions are minimal and a little difficult to uncover. When you get the hang of it, though, it provides excellent feedback on your workouts, and even your sleep. I found the swimming activity particularly helpful.

I've had it for a little while now. I used it running and swimming - great job in the water, I'm impressed. It gives me all the info I need and none I don't want. On days I don't exercice, I like to see the step count, regardless of its accuracy because it motivates me to move, to take the stairs instead of the elevator, to walk instead of taking the bus for 2 stops, just to reach the goal. It's light on the wrist but can get annoying stuck on long sleeve sweaters. Not a big deal. I really like it.

    Great Sports Tracking Watch

This thin and light. I get smart notifications. It has GPS tracking and it pairs with my bike's speed / cadence sensor and my HR monitor. The data screens I see during an activity are customizable. The watch face is interchangeable. The garmin store has a pretty good watchface collection in addition to additional data screens, widgets, and activities. The band is interchangeable and are available in different colors including leather at reasonable prices. The GarminConnect phone app is required to sync your watch and phone. GarminConnect is ok with tons of useful data, step challenges, etc. GC also syncs with other fitness apps like Strava, MyFitnessPal, Endomondo, etc. This is a fantastic sports tracking device at a a great price. Hope all this helps.

I used to wear a Garmin Forerunner 10, plus my UP band 24 by Jawbone. Loved them both. Running, walking, hiking, cycling are my main activities, plus I wanted to track my sleeping quality. Finally decided to invest in Garmin Vivoactive and wear only one device. I couldn't be more pleased. I love that I can see messages from my smart phone while running and decide whether or not to stop and take a call, or respond to a text message or email right away. The long battery life is another plus. Already had a Garmin Connect account, so everything rolled right over. I was a bit concerned about being able to see the screen while outdoors--not a problem.

I chose this over a comparable competitor model because it had a greater water resistance (3x as much) and was more specific for my fitness needs. My only complaint so far is it randomly disconnects from my cell and I have to switch Bluetooth on and off a few times before it syncs up. This is only occasionally so it's not a huge issue but it shouldn't happen.

The Garmin watch is easy to use and adopts all functions of exercise and health. I compared it with the Fitbit and thought the food calorie program would be better however Garmin has integrated into other Apps which are as good or better. The watch is waterproof where the others are not. I swim, run, bike and sweat alot with no issues. The only challenge I have had is the rubber band can irrate your skin over many days or wear. Great product.

Everything about this watch is above average. The step counter, the notifications, the weather app, the faces available, the widgets available, and oh by the way it is also a watch! The information available with the "Connect" app is very useful and interesting. One of the best purchases I have made recently. Apple..........eat your heart out!! Also priced very well.

This watch is fantastic. It would have received 5 stars if it weren't for the app. For those that sit all day, and need a reminder to get up and move, this is the watch for you (as long as you do other activities, as it is pricey). Tracks many outdoor and indoor activities including, running, walking, biking, swimming, golfing, treadmill, spinning, etc. It has a move bar that gently alerts you via vibration to get up and move. A pedometer that encourages you to beat yesterday's steps. Not to mention, it's probably the best looking, and thinnest fitness tracker out there. My issue is probably like many review you will read, the watch sometimes has issues with syncing with the app. When I first got the watch, there were no issues. After an update, it would sync maybe once every three days. Customer support was prompt in their responses and offered many solutions. Non worked. However a new update for the app came out, and it seems to be syncing regularly. I'm hoping it stays that way, as it's very frustrating having to connect with the desktop app to view the details.

Purchased Garmin VivoActive to get fitness, sleep and step tracking. Didn't want or need the full suite of Apple Watch stuff, and wanted more than the other brands offered. So far, I love this watch! Once you figure out how to start and stop the aps, it works perfectly for me. So far I've used the walking, cycling, indoor cycling and golf aps. Like them all! I would recommend this to anyone.

I love that the vivoactive will map my runs, rides, swims and track my steps all in one. Get a GPS signal almost immediately when starting an activity. The smart watch features are a bonus for me. My only negative is that it is a bit large for my small wrist, but if it was any smaller, it would be hard to read the screen. A great watch/activity tracker for the amatuer athlete.

For the price range, this is probably the best product you will find. I love the versatility in everything that it does. Being able to use one watch to get smart notifications from your phone, run, swim, bike, count steps, etc. is awesome! It does all of these things well, but it isn't as good as other dedicated devices. I still prefer my Garmin 310XT for running, swimming, bikng, but I honestly use the vivoactive most of the time instead. When I pace a race, I will use my 310XT as it has better control over which screens I want to see when running. Vivoactive has pre-selected screens, and you can choose to see 1-3 of those pre-selected screens. One thing it does NOT provide is average mile pace for the current run. It provides current pace, and lap pace, but not overall pace, which I really prefer when pacing. At the end of the day, very satisfied with the purchase, but it doesn't quite give me enough functionality to completely retire my 310XT like I had been hoping.

The Vivoactive has Excellent battery life, multiple useful functions, and is a fashionable and versatile watch. I purchased and returned the first generation apple watch because the batterynlife was horrible, it was overpriced and limited in practical functionality - I had to have it tethered to my iPhone all the time. The Vivoactive is the best skate arch choice currently on the market - hands down.
