You need the lights on to punch in the numbers. Oh and the timer that goes off could be louder. But overall I like it

heat food fast less time than older ones

For the child lock feature, you can easily disable it by following the instructions on page 12 of your Owner's Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. Larger than I anticipated but ‘fits’ in my space! Having trouble learning to ‘start’ timer-requires 3 or 4 touches before it starts!

Another feature that is sortve useful is that it has you open to check the interior before starting any heating if power was cut off at any point

There is a new Child proof safety option built into the microwave. But if you do not want the option it has an easy disable code to turn off the option.
