Works very well, kinda loud, installation was pretty easy as this was a replacement for a previous GE unit, has an interesting “hidden” feature that I may have missed in the manual. tl;dr Purchased this unit to replace a previous GE over the range unit (spacemaker 1800XL). Internal and external dimensions were basically the same which made install easier. Once installed, the unit works very well. Noticed it was a bit louder than the previous unit, not a deal breaker, drowns out the noisy teenager asking if dinner is ready (lol). Really like the fact it no longer has the mechanized front vent, less functional failures. Darker interior is nice for appearance of cleanliness. Controls are responsive, vents strong. Now, something that I think was weird and maybe a “hidden/secret” feature of this unit: automatic ventilation? I haven’t looked through the manual, but the other night when I had a cooked meatloaf on the stove resting, the vents automatically kicked on. Not complaining, but took me by surprise. Overall, for the amount paid during the sale it is well worth it.

Using this microwave without any problem, is a little loud when using the max in the fan ( quite understandable) heats pretty quick whatever we put in. Easy-to-use and to install as long as you are strong enough or use some techniques to get it install by yourself alone. Comes with every you need to get it install

This microwave has a clean look that goes well in our kitchen. we installed it ourselves, replacing our old Frigidaire professional series microwave. for the most part, installation went OK, however, there are a few things that were a bit of a chore. The mounting bracket seemed a bit flimsy, and the holes for bolting to studs were not exactly lined up where I needed them. If I had any mounting issues, I would aim it at all microwave oven makers - to standardize the location of the top mounting holes that go through the cabinet above. The holes in this microwave are very close to the old ones, so I ended up with two holes right next to each other so it's not very sturdy there. the microwave is large inside and relatively easy to use. i wish the start and cancel buttons were on the bottom row of buttons so they are easier to find. Since the faceplate is all the same color, I have to look for it every time. the surface light is not very bright either.

I’ve been using my GE microwave for a while and overall it performs well. It heats food evenly, is easy to clean, and the controls are simple to understand. The design looks modern and fits nicely in my kitchen. My only complaint is that the touchpad can feel a bit slow at times, but it doesn’t affect daily use much. For the price, it’s a solid and reliable microwave.

Bought this to replace our 19-year-old GE Microwave that finally bit the dust. I expect the new one to be every bit as high quality and long lived as the one it replaced. It was an easy install, since it fit exactly into the space the old one had been in for all those years. It looks awesome!

I purchased this GE 1000 watt Microwave to replace a different brand that broke prematurely. I've been using this new GE for 1 week and it works great. I am hoping it lasts for years, like the 20 my mother's GE microwave lasted. I initially dinged GE 1 star because it is 2021 and this microwave still has the hard-to-press old type keypad - mash on the plastic-skin button until it reacts, as opposed to modern touch-glass - similar to touching a cell phone. Also the stove-top light is incandescent (the old yellow glow with lots of heat) as opposed to a long-lasting and much brighter LED. Now I am returning this to 5 stars because I just realized I can clean the keypad without unplugging the Microwave - a major aggravation with my old microwave's touch glass. And by random chance this old-fashion incandescent bulb perfectly matches my warm-color LEDs in the blended kitchen/family room which looks great together in the evening. The clock LCD is too bright, fortunately there is a setting to turn it off. The display still operates normally - just no clock (my stovetop has one anyway). Installation went well. GE ships it for an upper-rear exhaust and includes adapters for rear and recirculate, plus GE included a vent extender which makes it easier to attach with the hood in the cabinet above the microwave. The microwave itself has the same loudness as my prior microwave. The stove-top fan is amazingly strong but again, no louder than my prior microwave - I checked the exhaust vent outside of my house to make sure the backdraft flap opened properly. I couldn't believe how much airflow the stovetop fan pushed out. Operationally, my first cooking attempt required 4:00 mins but the microwave started the moment I pressed 4. I then pressed "Cook-Time" -> 4:00 -> Start and it worked as expected. The keypad numbers 1 - 5 are "Express Cook". Not sure anyone uses Express cook buttons - I could do without them. I'd rather set the time and press start. A manual isn't included so I have no idea what 1 to 5 actually is used for but GE thought ahead. Normally there is a sticker inside the door frame that tells you - not this one...but there is a QR code inside the door, and scanning it takes you to the microwave's page on GE's website. There you can download the manual, registration, product details, etc. Honestly, it was faster and easier than tearing open a plastic bag, pulling out the manual, and then looking for a place to save it - The manual is saved on my phone for easy lookup. In summary, I am very, very happy with this Microwave. In 20 years I hope to still be using it. Things I'd like to see improved: Replace the bright LCD clock with an LED display, replace all incandescent bulbs with LED, replace keypad & controls with touch-glass version (add a "Clean" button users hold for 3 seconds to prevent activation while wiping smudges off).

Got this on a Memorial Day sale for a great deal, and I love it! Our old one was busted from previous owners so when we got this we were so excited. Wipes clean easily, the controls and buttons are nice, and it just looks good!

Our last over the range GE lasted 15 years. This was not a perfect match to the old one for the top bolts that attach it the the cabinet. But it comes with templates to make it easier. Easy install. Easy to use. So far we love it. Looks similar to our old one but better. Similar features etc. so not a big learning curve.

After only 8 years, my GE convection microwave regrettably stopped working. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, appliances are in short supply with estimates of upwards of 2-3 months. Not wanting to wait that long, I sacrificed my convection cooking feature for a straight microwave. Best Buy was the only store in a 60 mile radius with an inventory that allowed me to replace my microwave in only 2 days! Took a shot on this one based on availability and it being the right size OTR micro, and it exceeds my expectations and a bonus it was on sale at the time I purchased. This appliance is a SUPER investment and a great deal for about $250 on sale. I really like the coated enamel interior. It is very user friendly, typeface on the buttons could be a different color for easier recognition, letters blur/blend into the keypad back ground. The auto sensors like plate reheat, soup reheat, veggie reheat etc is way too long for the corresponding item, so I just don't let it run the whole time. The melt feature for butter is perfect and without splattering all over the interior. The fan is very loud, but frankly I've never heard a quiet micro fan or range hood fan, so nothing unusual there.

I bought this over the stove unit to replace my old failed GE microwave, due to same size to fit. It had a couple differences, as in a new bracket to hang it and had to drill a new hole in above cabinet due to relocated fastener in top of new unit. Otherwise, the new unit works fine with a few differences and improvements. Was able to hang new unit myself without help.

When our previous GE Over the Range Microwave went out after 14 years of great service, we tried to find a similar replacement. After a week or so of not having any luck in our local stores, we were able to order one online through Best Buy. It arrived within a couple of days and was delivered to our kitchen. Being a previous home builder, the swap out was very easy but for having to relocate 2 holes and changing out the mounting bracket. It has a very clean look and works great. Looking forward to another 14 years of service.

two years ago, I purchased the GE 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Sensor Cooking and Steam Cleaning, and I’m really impressed with both its performance and features. This microwave is a great combination of power, convenience, and modern design. First, the 1.9 Cu. Ft. capacity is perfect for my needs, offering plenty of space for larger dishes, casseroles, and even big dinner plates. The sensor cooking feature is fantastic—it automatically adjusts the cooking time and power level based on the moisture levels in your food, which ensures that everything comes out perfectly cooked without any guesswork. It’s especially useful when reheating leftovers or cooking frozen meals. The steam cleaning function is another standout feature. It’s so easy to use—just add a bit of water to the microwave, and it helps loosen up any food splatters or stains. After just a few minutes, the interior is cleaner, and I don’t have to scrub for hours. It’s a great time-saver and really helps keep the microwave looking fresh. I also appreciate the sleek design of this model. It looks great in my kitchen, and the backlit digital display is easy to read, even in low light. The over-the-range design not only saves counter space but also adds a modern touch to the kitchen. The ventilation system works well, with multiple fan speeds to keep my kitchen smoke- and odor-free when cooking. The microwave heats up food quickly and evenly, and the quiet operation is a nice bonus compared to other models I’ve used in the past. Whether I’m making popcorn, reheating a meal, or defrosting something, the microwave does the job efficiently. Overall, the GE 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Sensor Cooking and Steam Cleaning is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a powerful, versatile, and easy-to-maintain microwave. It’s spacious, smart, and stylish, making it a great addition to any kitchen. I highly recommend it!

Works great. My only complaint is that you have to hit cook time and then the amount of time that you want to cook the food for if it is not a whole minute or 30 seconds. Otherwise it works fine and seems easy to clean.
