Over the past few years I have bought other name brands but dud not last very long or when I cleaned with a recomended cleaner all the writing cane off. Thid toaster is perfect for the spot on my counter.

I have had many GE appliances in the past & they lasted forever. I use toaster lots & last was Black & Decker & went bad in less than 1-year; not good. I love this GE & have high hopes that it will last.

Posted .With the first few uses of the toaster, you may notice a "new" or "chemical" smell. This could be caused by a little "forming oil" residue. We would expect the smell to go away rather quickly after a few uses. This is normal. When you select the Bagel setting, only the inner elements are On, so be sure to place the cut side of your bagel facing inward. If you continue to have concerns, please call 1-800-432-2737 to discuss your options under the warranty. -Vikki@GEAppliances

The quick release button makes toasting the bread more convenient. Really enjoy it.

Good toaster

The price was nice and you cannot go wrong with GE. The only cons: the stainless surface shows all kinds of splatter and dry spots. Don’t keep it too close to the sink.

My son loves pop tarts so I purchased this primarily for him. Toasting is not always consistent - sometimes the bottom gets toasted more than the top.

The previous 2 were returned as they were incapable of producing acceptable toasted bread. While this one does not toast both sides evenly (the inner side is darker), the toast is satisfactory. The temperature control works well and once set, produces a consistent toast.
