It doesn’t toast evenly and leaves the top of what ever is in there less toasted at the top.

Unless it is put on high really datk it doesn't toast. Tried with 2 different toasters. Both were the same about toasting. Would recall this toaster to anyone.

This is a terrible toaster!! You have to push it down twice to get it to toast even at the highest number.

I hate this toaster. Uneven toasting, non-toasting or burned. GE replaced the first one thinking it was defective but second one was the same. Don't waste your money.

Horrible. It started making sparks within a month of receiving it and had to discontinue using it because it was a hazard.

Took it out the box. And it wouldn’t turned on. And it didnt even refund me fully in points :(

Defective. Does not toast unless turned to the highest setting. Started smoking the third time I used it. Avoid.

As with any GE appliance, the fit and finish is top shelf. If all you want is a toaster, this is a pretty good option. It's nice classic stainless styling goes with everything, and looks like it will last quite a while. It feels good in the hand and the pop up spring is strong. The product looks like a high quality toaster and has good weight to it but isn’t heavy. Toasts evenly and perfectly and doesn’t burn even at the highest setting. I received this toaster couple of days ago and have already used it so many times. It arrived well packaged and protected, in absolutely pristine condition. Our family loves breads and bagels. That's our go-to breakfast items. It does everything it claims to with a simplicity; that means even a kid could make toast without setting fire to the house. Three is a nice well toasted piece of bread, two is good for thinner breads or if you like your toast just golden. The buttons are well marked and the lever moves smoothly without forcing or fighting. The knobs seem to move almost too easily. I'm happy with this toaster. I wasn't looking for anything complicated and this fits my needs. It warms up quickly and evenly. No issues with hotspots burning your bread in one area or another. The release button to pop-up the bread is simple to use, located on the center of the heat/time dial. I toasted a bagel & I have to say that it was really one of the best toasted bagels I have had. It was very lightly toasted on outside & done to perfection inside. To use the bagel feature, (which I love & many toasters do not have this choice and are not wide enough), you first push the lever down with bagel in toaster & then push the bagel button on the front of toaster-VIOLA!! The crumb tray is secure & if used properly should stay that way. It is not too flimsy, it is as sturdy as a toaster should be. One of my favorite things is the nice wide openings! I am a bagel eater, most toasters, even though they say extra wide, are not always wide enough Thus far, this toaster has been working up to par and as expected. I like the classy look. The toaster is extremely light, which is great for me, as I don't have a lot of space in my kitchen and I often need to store it away. The crumb tray makes removing crumbs from the toaster super easy. Thanks to its design, this toaster looks much more expensive than it actually is. I know it's just a toaster, but I've had toasters that kicked the bucket after a week or two! This one works excellent, doesn't take forever, and most importantly is easy to clean. So I would definitely recommend it.

Need a simple, good looking toaster to complement your other stainless steel appliances ? This GE two slice toaster seems to straddle the mid way point for toasters. While nothing fancy here, it does have a bagel and frozen setting which seems to be really functional for each of those type of toasting applications. A turn nob is used to set the "shade" of your toast as they term it. Each setting can be used to toast to your preference, I found that four and a half was the sweet setting for me and required no adjustment other then pressing the bagel button for thicker pieces of bread or an actual bagel half. As with any new small electric appliance a slight odor is present the first few times the unit heated up, however that went away after about five cycles and this unit was ready to toast. Pros: - looks upscale for the price - toasts efficiently and consistent - bagel and frozen setting are effective and functional Cons: - feels a bit lightweight

This GE toaster hits all the marks for me giving it a 5 star rating. It has the stainless steel /chrome look which ties in well in our kitchen. The buttons are easy to operate. The toaster has a bagel, frozen, and cancel button. The toast setting operates on a round button with 7 settings. The thing with the setting is that you will need to test what you like. I like it a little lighter. My wife a little darker. So personal preference will be had. It has worked flawlessly. The width of the slots is very good for the wider width of bagels. I hated my old toaster because the bagels rubbed on the edge and ALWAYS were burnt. That is not the case here. The width of the slots allows the bagel to be toasted and not touch the edge. The toaster sits evenly on the counter. My last toaster rocked because the legs were different sized. I kid you not. Sturdy and well made I suspect I will get many years of good use of this toaster.

Lever won’t stay down to start toasting after 2weeks. Planning on returning it after holidays. Very dissatisfied.

Cancel and refund to my charge account. After 2 months I bought one elsewhere

Terrible low quality. Bread toasts more on one side

The first thing you want a toaster to do is the only thing you want a toaster to do...make toast! In my household that last word can take on different meanings and requirements. If your just throwing a couple slices of bread in you can burn it to a crisp for a nice piece of charcoal or you can make a nice piece of warm bread. Whatever your definition of "toast" is it can do it the way you want it, you just have to learn it settings. Both my wife and daughter use a gluten free bread, one is frozen and one is not. With the Bagel and Frozen setting, they can dial it in just right. And the Cancel button helps not over do it when you are learning the machine. Definitely use the high setting for the first use with no bread as the instructions say, it burns off the oils from manufacturing and cures the metal. The Stainless steel and chrome look is really nice and there is an LED light around the CANCEL button when the toaster is activated. Nice touch. I don't normally commit on the instructions that come with devices, but on this one I was left scratching my head as there isn't much to tell with a Toaster (they make sure you know not to use it in a bathtub!) but the print media is like a cardboard, not too "green".

This is a nice enough toaster that gets the job done. It is very sleek looking, and will fit right in with most modern kitchen decor. It is very straightforward and simple to use. There are only 3 buttons: Cancel, Bagel, and Frozen. They are fairly self explanatory, and work as expected. It would've been nice if there were a little illustration or something that told you which way to put the bagel, but it is cut side facing in, as would be expected, so that's not really a big deal. My only critique comes down to performance. It didn't really toast my items evenly. Whether I was toasting bread, bagel, or something else, it always seemed to toast the bottom of the item quicker than the top, resulting in uneven toast. It wasn't so bad that it ruined the toast or anything, but it's at least worth mentioning. All that being said, it's a toaster. It has one job, and it does it good enough. Could be better, but it's not a bad product by any means.

This GE 2-slice toaster is very attractive with a combination of brushed stainless and chrome. GE recommends setting the browning level to 7 and running the toaster for one cycle prior to first use. Being a new product, it will put off a bit of an initial odor during this process. The toaster’s simple, straight forward design makes its use very intuitive. Simply turn the control knob to choose toasting level from one of seven shades from lighter to dark. Hit Cancel if you need to stop the toasting process at any time. If using the Bagel setting place the outside of the bagel towards the inside of the toaster to toast to keep the exterior of the bagel less toasted than the inside. For frozen bread utilize the Frozen button. The height of this toaster was similar to our old one, but still a bit taller at almost 8” so keep that in mind in terms of the space between your upper and lower cabinets. I feel the price is a bit high at $49.99 since this has the typical functions of a standard, 2-slice toaster which will still not accommodate a longer slice of bread. Also, the weight of the toaster is on the light so it just makes one wonder about the quality of the components or how durability will be over time.

Got this to replace our old toaster. It is very efficient and does a consistent job in all aspects. Slots are wide enough to accommodate oddly shaped pieces. Stainless steel finish looks very good on our counter and toaster is very stylish. Controls are intuitive and easy to operate. Very satisfied
