Ice Maker broke in 1.5 years

My ice maker only does crushed ice vice crushed and cubed ice. It is only 1.5 years old. I cannot find a manual on the internet to buy so that I can fix it myself. They want $300 to come out and take a look. This is a POS. Don't believe the salesman. Just keep on moving and buy something different, you will be happy that you did.

Have to turn to lowest possible setting to keep food from spoiling. Even then, drinks aren't cold enough. Freezer light went out after 2 years, costs $60 from GE.
