    Needed a extra air conditioner in the house this summer with the temperatures being so high. It has been amazing i love being able to start it from my phone. Worth it !

    I bought an air conditioner in-store at Best Buy. The staff was helpful, and the AC works great — cools fast and runs really well. Very happy with the product and experience!

    This was the easiest purchase I’ve made online through a store like Best Buy. There wasn’t any problems at all and they brought it out to me within less than 5 minutes and insisted that he would put it in my Jeep for me. Great experience and they no one had it any cheaper. Best Buy rocks!!

    Horrible AC

    Not impressed. Same BTU of the one we replaced and this one can’t keep up. Shooting ice chips in hot days. The noise of the AC is horrendous. The AC it replaced was about 5 years old and you could barely hear it run. This is the down side of having to buy an AC. We had no choice. Our power went off and on all day and cooked our AC. Went to Best Buy and this was the only option. Wish I would have had choices. This unit is loud, and can’t keep our small bedroom cool. WOULD NEVER BUY AGAIN

It's normal to hear some noise during the operation of the unit as outlined in the "Normal Operating Sounds" section on pg. 14 of the Owner's Manual.     About 9 months in, it stopped cooling as good as it did before. Finally it stopped cooling completely and only worked like a fan. I changed the filter and still nothing. Left it off for half a day in a Texas summer so the coils were definitely not frozen. Also, I checked the temp with my temperature gauge and it kept showing 89 degrees. Luckily I looked and my warranty ends 1 day after I found the receipt. Hopefully I will get a new one with my geek squad warranty.

    Air conditioner is very loud and doesn't work very well. I have a 12 year old air conditioner that is smaller that works better. It is currently in a room that is very small that a unit half of its size should cool but it does not do very well and struggles to keep up with the heat. I think I might have got a bad unit, not sure. After a night with it on, the room tends to be very humid with thick air. When it was delivered the box was completely destroyed and damp so I couldn't return the item.

      We're sorry to hear your new air conditioner is very loud and is not cooling well. We encourage you to review a support article we offer online titled "Air Conditioner - Sizing Guidelines" as it is possible to purchase a unit that offers more BTUs than is needed for the room size. Oversizing an air conditioner can result in the compressor not running properly. As cold air leaves the air conditioner in a small room, it is deflected off the walls back to the air conditioner and prematurely cycles the unit off. This results in uneven cooling and very little loss of humidity. We also recommend you review the terms of the warranty on page 17 of the online Owner's Manual.     Bought a GE 8,000 BTU window ac, took it out of box and put in window didn't realize that it was cracked on front face and inside where the Styrofoam is .. very unhappy customer..

    Absolutely the worst AC I’ve ever purchased. It lasted a total of 38 days. The machine is extremely loud and since the water inside is used to cool the unit, it continuously sloshed water outside of the vents and saturated my floor, ruining it. After that, I realized that there was a plug in the back that would help release the water so I removed the plug. But that didn’t matter because it was too late. The damage was already done since the unit leaked so much water onto the vent It seeped into the electrical part of the unit and now the unit is just consistently going up to 79° or better yet just turning off altogether and not turning back on unless unplugged for over an hour just to turn right back off in three minutes. absolutely the worst AC I’ve ever purchased in my entire life. GE stands for garbage.

    Poor design. When it rains hard and the device is on the rain enters through the top of the device (see photo). When the water enters it reaches the front vents when blowing. The water sprays on anyone near the unit. GE customer service had no fix for this problem. We are within the return period so it is going back for a fun refund.

    Hasn’t been a year and it’s already malfunctioning won’t keep my room cool at all currently on high and my bedroom is hot

We recommend that you check for open furnace registers and cold air returns. There could be causing air to escape. Also make sure that the coils on the unit have not iced up. We suggest checking the use and care guide for additional troubleshooting methods which can be found on the website. (page 13). If you find after troubleshooting that you are still having trouble, then we would suggest following the limited warranty information that can also be found in your use and care guide. (Page 17).
