    Good unit for the money

The dehumidifier is not that large, fits nicely in my basement and does a very good job taking the moisture out of the area. Although it collects 50 pints / 6.26 gallons, I have to empty it every couple of days. But it’s easy to move around because it has wheels, a setting for the level of humidity and a fan speed of low medium and high. I’m happy with the dehumidifier.

    GE Dehumidifier worked right away

The GE Dehumidifier did the job getting rid of the musty smell down in our basement. Our old one lasted about 10 years and finally bit the dust with leaking. I hope this one lasts as long. Set up is simple, just plug it in, attach a hose if you want to have the water go into the french drain, or let it collect in the big container. Within an hour or so, the basement no longer had the smell of "old basement". Thanks Best Buy for carrying this product.

This works great for our open concept living room/dining room/kitchen area. This fall has had high humidity and this helps our A/C function optimally. It runs pretty quietly and notifies fairly loudly when full of water. Im pleased with it.

Portable Dehumidifier Keeps Our Basement Comfortab

We bought this during shutdown after our other dehumidifier stopped working. We use this in our basement, we did not have a chance to really look at it prior due to shutdown. It does come with a hose for draining into a drain should you choose that option (we initially panicked because we could not find the hose option, but it was there, fortunately). It is fairly quiet and easy to use. It works well in our basement, we are satisfied with it.

Bought this for my basement that an older one was no longer keeping up with. This has more than dried the basement and love the different speeds. After running on high for the first few days to get the basement dry, I have kept it at 50% and low and have to empty it about 2 times a week. Love the handle built into the large water collector

Excellent dehumidifier, does the job fairly quietly and stays on setting with moisture removal. Quality product. Replaced one that decided to quit on me after many years of constant use. Hope the longevity of this one matches or surpasses the other one it replaced.

We use this dehumidifier in a 5000 square-foot basement for over 2 years. It’s relatively quiet and brought down humidity to 50 within a few days. I just hooked up with a separately purchased drain hose and elbow to a floor drain. Without that drain hose the tank fills up very quickly and the humidifier does not run enough to bring the humidity down from any High Point.

Took it right out of the box and started it up right away. Works just as described and really pulls that water out of the air. The price was right and time will tell how long it works. The Honeywell unit, which was more expensive, that I bought last year didn’t survive more than one season. The refrigerant error message kept coming up to contact the service department. Must be why it came with a one year warranty.

GE - 50 pint portable dehumidifier

This is a replacement for a 2 yr old Frigidaire model which stopped working (electronics) and has been discontinued. The GE cost a little more than the Frigidaire (it was suppose to be an even exchange per the warranty but model discontinued) and the bucket is slightly smaller - doesn't actually hold 50 pints. It is quieter and takes up less room. It will suffice. I would give it a 4 out of 5 rating.

We've had this for a few weeks and it has done a great job keeping our entire basement dry. It isn't very noisy at all. Currently we empty it 2-3 times a day. It's easy to use. I'm very glad we got this humidifier, I definitely recommend it!

This replaced an older and slightly smaller unit. We use it in the basement. I was able to put hose in to have it drain directly, so not constantly having to empty the bucket. It is so quiet, I have checked a few times to make sure it is on. It has been maintaining the 50% humidity I have it set on. Very pleased with this purchase!

This dehumidifier works great. You can connect it to a drain hose and you will never have to stump the reservoir. I have a 2500 sq ft house. It works it took the unit about a week to get the humidity level to 40%. Now it just turn on a few times a day. Performs great.

The GE 50 Pint portable Dehumidifier works very well. I have it in my basement and use it to maintain humidity to a low 45% It is built well but is a bit noisy even at fan low setting. When working, as with all dehumidifiers, it raises the basement temperature by 2-3 degrees F. Not a big deal really, specially in the winter when warmth is welcome. I do not have it hooked up to a hose (My basement is not terribly humid where constant draining is needed) so I depend on the bucket. The unit stops and an alarm sounds when bucket is full which is controlled by a float. Removing and disposing the water from the bucket is easy, but may be difficult to lift for some due to it's weight. I do not carry with the handle, although the water bucket handle seams to be very sturdy. It is a bit odd that the humidity meter on the unit is about 10-12% off from the humidity meter I have installed in the basement, but that may be due to the unit location. I just thought I would bring that up. The only reason why it does not get a 5 star rating is the noise it makes, otherwise it is a solid performer

Bought this yesterday, we had mold do the mold expert told us to run a dehumidifier to help remove the moisture from the air. So far this machine has filled up twice within the 24 hours! I’m actually impressed at how much water it collects . I will update later in case something changes. I’m very pleased with this product so far.

Bought GE dehumidifier approximately 1 month ago. So far, completely happy with it. Easy to set it up and runs and pulls a lot of moisture out of my basement. Had an older GE dehumidifier for about 20 years and was completely happy with it. So here is hoping that this one gives me the same kind of service.

Very easy to use. Pulled 20 gallons of moisture out of the air each day. Wished it had a bigger capacity because it kept shutting down when full in a short amount of time. Does the job in a quiet, efficient way.

When we hooked up our new dehumidifier, it was fifty degrees in the garage and tons of snow from our vehicles. We let it run overnight and in the morning the bucket was full. It reduced the humidity very well and the floor was dry.
