Sophisticated controls. Quiet. Not a lot of space in bottom half (at least compared to previous dishwasher we had replaced). This unit lasted nearly 2 years for us under continuous use.(2017-2019)

This is a great product . My only issue is that the inside holds less dishes than my old washer . Overall very satisfied with this product

Purchased to replace existing Cafe Series. Great looking inside and out. Very quiet when running. Last dishwasher was the higher end model. Decided on this with a couple less features at two thirds the price. Did not need all the wash cycles and auto soap dispenser. Slightly higher price than others, but wanted to match other Cafe appliances. Would I buy again? Yes, second one.

    Beware the GE Cafe Series

The GE Cafe is absolutely the worst dishwasher I have ever owned!! Let me give you background on why I bought it and why I still have it. My old (14 years) GE dishwasher had a recall due to a faulty rinse component that could cause a fire. The two options were to have it fixed or get a $200 rebate on a new dishwasher. Since mine was already was 12 years old and began to have a leak, I chose the latter. With all the new technology in appliances/electronics today, I thought I could not go wrong. Unfortunately, that was not the case with the GE Café series. Here are a list of the problems I’ve encountered: 1. Do not fully clean the dishes unless put on Heavy Duty cycle 2. Leaves the dishes very wet, even with heated dry…especially the silverware. (This problem is the most annoying of all) 3. Terrible upper rack spacing design that accommodates only 6 bowls, with no possibility of placing them anywhere on top other than the 6 slots. 4. When sliding the upper rack back in, the bowls tip over, crash into each other and fall out of place (very noisy!!), unless you push the rack in very slowly and ever so gently (who does that or wants to do that??) 5. In the upper rack, anything but a small bowl will clang against the glassware that fits along the sides (the bowls go down the middle of the upper rack). 6. The bottom rack accommodates plates and large bowls only. Anything else (pots, pans, odd size things) take up so much space, due to the poor spacing design, that very little else will fit. No improvisation here, only fixed place setting of x plates and x bowls fit. Anything else and most of the bowls or plates cannot fit. 7. The handle on the silverware basket sticks over the edge so that it rubs against the rubber gasket each time you close the dishwasher. Clearly, this will gouge out a portion of the gasket over time. The alternative is to have it hang over the inside area, which interferes with the dishes in the bottom rack and blocks you from putting the silverware into the basket. There are other issues, but you get the idea. After reading the above, the obvious question would be, why do I have this dishwasher if it is so terrible. Well, that’s a good question. The short answer is that I won’t for too long, even though I’ll have to eat the cost as it is well past 30 days. This thing is so annoying that I’m willing to eat the $$. The long answer is that my wife and I just thought the new dishwasher would “just take some getting used to”. We had our old one for so long and were so accustomed to it that surely it was just us. After all, this was the latest and greatest, of course it must be better! It looked great at the store and who thinks to bring their dishes along to see how they fit (I will next time, believe me)?? Anyway, that is my story. Obviously, your experience may differ. I have no axe to grind with GE. I loved my previous dishwasher and have a GE oven/range and microwave that have been perfectly fine.

    Stay Away

Best Buy talked us into purchasing this expensive dishwasher to match the other appliances we were purchasing. After 30 days, the dishwasher began leaking at the end of the cycle. Upon calling Best Buy, I was informed that it was GE's responsibility to handle. GE sent a technician out who ran a short cycle and did not see the leak. GE says they will not replace and will only send out another technician. Stay away from this dishwasher.

    Don't buy this dishwasher

I just purchased this dishwasher a week ago. From the first day I noticed a high pitch sound when the machine was running. The sound is giving me a headache and I can't stay in the room when the machine is on. I called GE for service and the service guy told that all of the GE Cafe Dishwashers make that noise. It's the sound that the water pump makes and they can't fix it. If loud high pitch sounds don't bother you then its a good machine, but I'm sorry I can't take it anymore and will try to return it.

Hello - We are very sorry to hear your disappointment with the appliance. The dishwasher wash pump motor can make a whining sound when operating. This is normal. GE_Appliances
