I purchased GE microwave PEB7227AN4DD with the stainless steel trim kit JX7230SLSS. A few observations ... * the trim kit does fit this microwave * the trim kit was easy to install with the exception of the screws ... the kit comes with a single bag of screws so on first glance you think there is only one type of screw. There is in fact two kind of screws that look nearly identical so do yourself a favor and separate these before installing. * some reviews mentioned screws were missing and had to go to the hardware store to get more screws ... I found all the required screws to be included. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. We were replacing a built-in GE microwave that was about 9 years old, and of course wasn't made any longer. This model looks great installed!

Quiet and large, fit my previous built in area well with the face plate (sold separately).

Was able to use this to replace our broken wolf microwave with minimal modifications to the existing wolf builtin hardware (had to make some new holes in the framing for rear feet to fit in) so that went well. Touch controls are nicely sensitive and working great as well as the cooking of the microwave has been consistent and good. So far a very good microwave and good purchase for the price. Did have one issue - when we originally ordered there was no availability so we selected pick up in store and were going to have to wait a month. A few days later was checking and it had availability for deliver weeks before but had to cancel my order to get that - ridiculous.

Geek Squad came out today and delivered my new GE microwave and he did an excellent job with the installation. I highly recommend the Geek Squad Protection Plan.

Very happy with this purchase. Replaced a high end microwave in a precise built-in kitchen. Attentive, capable service from purchase through installation. Excellent, good quality merchandise and great value. Easiest transaction we have experienced in years.

I've had this microwave for a little over a month now and I absolutely love it! It's extremely spacious to accommodate those large dishes. Super easy to use and the buttons react to the slightest bit of pressure, which I guess could be a good or bad thing but I like it. The only thing I that's slightly irritating is it's very hard to keep clean. Fingerprints show up easily on the glossy black finish. I still love it and do not regret my purchase at all.

I use this daily and its perfect. Easy to use and definitely worth the price. Just a little hard to keep clean. But I think most if not all microwaves are.

Had this microwave for less than 1 month when the door latch was difficult to open the door. Repair person came and fixed it. That lasted one month. Was cooking some food and when the timer went off the door latch completely broke and we couldn't open the door to get the food out. Additionally, the control panel went dark. Repair person came out (thankfully got our food out) but now we've been waiting for over 1 month to get parts. GE refuses to replace the unit and says it can be fixed, but the parts to fix it are on back order with no delivery date it sight. Best Buy won't allow a return because it's outside the return window. Bad product.

This new model is not the same color as the one it replaced (I.e., it’s black stainless instead of regular stainless). So, there is an issue with kitchen compatibility. However, it heats the food okay but sometimes doesn’t turn off in time when you use the reheat function. So, the food is extra hot. Also, we needed a totally new trim kit for it since the predecessor model’s trim kit didn’t work. The result is a three month wait for the trim kit and a very overall expensive experience just to get a new microwave.

This is an attractive built in microwave and delivers the expected power of an 1100 W unit. However, when I placed my order, I did not realize that it would not have a lighted panel on the front. My old microwave did, and you could see the individual selections, but this only has a light when you open the door. Have to turn on the overhead kitchen light to select the function that I want. Disappointed about that. My fault for not checking this function before buying. Other than that, nice microwave.

I am really enjoying my new microwave. Easy to operate and does a much better job cooking food than my old microwave. I also like that the interior is very easy to clean.

large, powerful, looks good would have gone with stainless if it fit with our other appliances better because you can see the fingerprints on the glass

The microwave is great at heating up food but it’s very sensitive to the touch. Also the steel and the cover stains very easily with fingerprints being viewable. Otherwise it functions well

price is affordable compared with other models, however quality is very low. replaced my old GE microwave with this one and got quite disappointed. if you put two bowls of soup one of them will be warm and the other will be cold. making popcorn is also very delicate. on top of that it broke down 14 months after purchase. out of warranty of course.

Okay. Don’t know how long door opener mechanism will hold up.

After struggling to find a decent microwave to match existing brands in a recently purchased home, it came down to this one and a Frigidaire. I found this GE as an open box value at a store pretty far away but decided to risk it. I was shocked when we pulled it from the box and its black glass cover was beautifully modern and shiny. The dimensions were accurate on the Website and it slid perfectly in the opening. It doesn’t have a lot of preset buttons but doesn’t need it, it’s quite perfect. Great design and large interior modernized my kitchen!!

I'm pleased with my microwave. The only problem is it is hard to read, when you want to use it. I wish I would have gotten the stainless steel. It is easy to read.

This is an EXCELLENT microwave! It has lots of great features and 1100 watts of power, plus the included sensor cooking features. It was also the only microwave of this quality that we could find, that was a direct fit, to replace the 18 year old built-in unit that came with our home, and which died. This leads to the only drawback for this microwave - the price! A free standing model, with the same features, size and power costs less than half as much! That just doesn't seem right. But, we needed a direct replacement with the same features as the previous microwave, so we paid the price that was required.
