Previous GE Profile did not. Does fine with other foods when no finesse is needed. Your choices are burned popcorn or unpopped kernels. Plus light bulb has already burnt out in less than one month.

Posted .We hate to hear you’ve had difficulty with preparing popcorn, as well as an issue with your light bulb. We know that must be frustrating. We can advise it may be necessary to reduce the cook time for your popcorn, because of variability in how it cooks even within the same brand. Popcorn also may not cook properly if it’s old, if you use low fat instead of regular, etc. We have more details in an article on our GE Appliances website titled ‘Microwave Reasons for Burned Popcorn’; if that may be helpful, you can look up the title on our website and click the ‘Support’ tab to view it. What's to say, it's working and does the job when needed.

Best Buy's poor customer service

It no longer heats up any food. I called Best Buy and they refused to do anything about it, even though I was willing to exchange it. Apparently, if you don't spend more money with them to purchase extended support, Best Buy will not stand behind any product it sells after 15 days!! Best Buy asked me to call GE warranty, which I am in the process of doing to schedule a service visit. But I am appalled at how Best Buy operates, unwilling to help its customers when it sells a product that quits working within a month!!

Nice looking and performing model

It got heavy usage and needed to be replaced. Since we already had the trim kit from our old microwave, we wanted something similar. This is a really nice looking microwave and it performs great for the price. My wife says the Popcorn Sensor leaves too many unpopped kernels, but I guess not every feature always works perfectly.

Bright white and clean looking and paired with a built-in trim kit, you could never tell it was a replacement.

This oven fit in the existing stainless trim. It didn't exactly fit but we made it work. The old oven had a white interior. This has a black interior so you can't see the food as well when its cooking. GE says the all black version will accept the trim kit. We liked the stainless trim on this one.

The Magnetron tube broke ( Creates the Microwaves.) In any case I bought a new one and this one had the same issue after 1 month. GE Finally agreed to ship me a new one as they refused to send over a repair person and cancelled the appointment unilaterally after booking a time. It took a lot of push on my part to get them to agree to ship a new one. Note the Warranty does not cover repair but only replacement as GE described it as "more cost effective" - not for the client but for GE as I pointed out! Hopefully the new one will be fine. #4 in 10 years though! Order placement and shipment was easy through Best Buy but GE ruined the experience!

By the time it arrived and the installation was rescheduled, it was too late to return. Never Again.
