The Jaunt video is also very cool showing Peru - be sure to get this. You can also run Google Cardboard apps you just have to disable the Gear VR service (with a 3rd party app). A nice add-on and as a free gift with upgrade it was a no-brainer.

Pretty awesome

Unfortunately some apps require a controller but a controller doesn't come with the gear vr ... it's definitely cool to look at videos and photos in 360 but some are quite blurry and it hurts you're head after awhile.

Solid entry point into the VR experience

I was not expecting much from the device. I thought that it would serve as a novelty item for a few moments, then stop using after a while. But after playing games, watching Netflix, my phone media, and 360 media - I now realize that VR has serious potential, The GearVR serves as a solid entry point into the realm of VR.
