I got these after reading the great reviews. Let me say that I really loved the VR experience. Although the resolution is not always the best, at times it was awesome. I think this depended only the content you were viewing at any given moment. Imagine watching a Star Wars marathon while sitting on the surface of the moon or being center stage with Cirque Du Soliel! Truly awesome. Those were the good points, now for the reasons for the return: Some games require a controller. Finding that controller is nearly impossible. Even asamsung no longer makes the required game pad. While I had no issues with over heating, there were several reasons for the return 1. The pass through charger only worked for the first 5 minutes. 2. After installing the software on my 6Sedge+ it seemed that the Oculus software does not mean play nicely together. Several functions stoop working like voice wake up and did not resume until a complete reset of the phone. 3- after using the device, it downloaded a few free experiences, I looked at my phone space and realize that almost half of my storage was being taken up by miscellaneous files. These are not the files that I downloaded as they show their separate space. The last thing I want is for my new phone Lastly as the other poster mentioned, I did not want to be stuck with a device that made my phone obsolete with the next iteration The apps can be a bit pricey but without the ability afforded by a game pad, this point is moot

One of the best products that I've ever purchased! If you have a compatible phone that works with this product, it is a must buy for the price. Watching Netflix is incredible! It's like being transported to another dimension. You don't even feel like you're in the present. Unbelievable!

It's a pretty cool experience to strap it on and look around! It's a full 360 degree experience, you can look forward, to the sides, and even turn around to look behind and it's one fluid experience. VR makes you feel like you are IN the movie, or even SOARING above beautiful landscapes. Games are also awesome, but the good games require a controller. There is a feature to focus the VR for each individual, however, if you have a really high prescription you cannot go sans glasses, thus making the experience a little less comfortable and also more bulky. I didn't really mind, but it's worth mentioning. You could always just wear contacts too. Everyone who has tried it out is extremely impressed, and I'm glad we got it.

These were a gift so 5 stars, these are pretty cool to pass some time, and def have some wild content i would sit down during some especially Rollercoaster vr, but be connected to wifi these burn data and depletes your phone battery fairly fast I have a note 5 so fast charger a must.

My brother and some of my friends told me how awesome this was and while I believed them, it wasn't until I actually tried them out that I really got it. As they say, seeing is believing. This is the cheapest way to get into vr and if you're at all interested in vr, just buy the darn things! Vr is still young so don't expect a ton of content, do expect some glitches and know you can see the pixels as this isn't super high definition. Still, wicked fun.

The Gear VR is the best way to currently get into VR without spending an arm and a leg. The VR experience is immersive and realistic to the point of blurring reality in some ways. Bottom-line, for under $100 its a No-Brainer if you own a compatible Galaxy phone.

Fun to use, wish there was more too do on it. After a couple of weeks you are waiting for more things too do. Watching for long time can make your neck sore. But overall worth the money.

I don't care that people think this incarnation of VR from Samsung is a joke compared to the 'real' Oculus. I have a $2,700 iMac built with a quad i7, 4gb graphics and 32gb ram...and Oculus says NO mac can run their hardware. To me, that's idiotic and really narrowing your customer base to all but the most hard-core and uber-expensive PC builds out there. With this and a Galaxy S7 Edge, I can enjoy VR on the go, and for the most part, not really worry about missing out on Oculus. I don't game on PC/Mac anyway, so I really just enjoy the VR tours, maps, photos and movies. I'm sure gaming would be incredible, but I do have a full time job and and 110" projection theater, so even if I did game on a PC, I would prefer to play on the HUGE screen. So for me, this version of VR is almost perfect and I have no issue with it in any way. And the GS7E is an amazing phone to boot.

The Samsung Gear VR is easy to use and surprisingly affordable. The quality is well above any expectations. I am so glad I have a compatible Samsung phone or I would have been left behind and heartbroken. Games and movies are both excellent.

great product decent price. only dislike is phone gets hotafter about 30 min. and have to let it cool off for about 30 min. before using again. it helps to turn down the brightnes. but 90 % of people that tryed them it just blew there mind.

Such an excellent foray into VR and one of the only truly portable solutions out there as the Oculus and HTC Vise will require you to be tethered to a high powered computer. As long as you don't expect mind blowing graphics, the Gear VR is an excellent Tech demo that is so much fun to use and really showcases the power of a modern samsung phone. It's the most fun to demo to other people and enjoy their amazed expressions. Very cool, extremely fun and perfectly portable.

Works great with my Samsung Galaxy S6, very light and easy to use.

This will immerse you into any world imaginable. The only downfall is the mobile phone gets a little warm after 15 or 20 minutes of “play”.

All in all, I love this headset. The virtual reality is awesome and the 3-D is great. There are some reasons I am hesitant on giving this product five stars however. The lenses fog quickly, which can be fixed easily by just pulling headset off of face for a few seconds, and if you have the headset on for an extended period of time or if you just finished charging your phone it overheats quickly. Overheating isn't really a problem, other than the fact that the gyroscopic feature of the headset isn't as smooth as it was before. All in all though, this headset is amazing.

I cannot express what a fantastic experience using the Samsung Gear VR is. Expect to spend about 15 minutes setting your Gear VR up; it can be tricky attaching the two straps and adjusting them for a comfy fit, and then you'll do more adjustments to fit your phone into the headset (there are options depending on phone model). Install the software as prompted when you put on the headset for the first time, and you're ready to go. For the optimum viewing experience, I wipe my phone with a damp washcloth and dry it with a microfiber cloth, then, if needed, I wipe the lenses with a dry microfiber cloth (both sides). There's nothing more annoying than having dust or smudges obscure the brilliant picture of the Gear VR. I advise decent headphones (with a cord, NOT Bluetooth) and the Stratus XL game controller. You're transported into a whole new world when you're using the Gear VR. Tons of content is available for free-- everything from rollercoaster rides at Six Flags to Cirque du Soleil shows to addictive games. I recommend downloading content rather than streaming (simple to delete when you're done). If you have subscriptions to Netflix and Hulu, you can use their VR apps to watch shows, movies, trailers, and exclusive content on a virtual big screen. Content that isn't free is usually around 5 bucks at most, which is a bargain for games like GunSight and Dreadhalls (have your controller ready!). But there is enough free content to satisfy most people. The gorgeous (free) game Smash Hit is not to be missed. A note of caution: VR is so immersive that some people may experience motion sickness. My dad has complained of this several times; he says it's the same feeling he gets on spinning rides at theme parks. Aside from the potential for motion sickness, your phone will heat up pretty quickly, so I try to limit my sessions to half an hour. Low price, extremely entertaining, and a great gadget to show off to friends and family.

i must say this product is better than expected. I didn't believe in the VR stuff. But if you have a compatible Samsung phone then it's a great idea to check it out. Only thing I must say is after a while you loose interest due to lack of free content. Most items are $5-$30 which is nuts for content only 1 person can enjoy at a time. Not too fun when bringing around family or friends. But that's what makes it fun also. Only downside for 4 star review is when using it the lenses get some fog on them probably due to heat of device and moisture from eyes or something.

When I have a few moments I can put my headphones in and be at the movies or watching TV on a 100" TV. It is amazing, paired with the Galaxy S7 Edge it is unbeliveable. The only flaw is the phone becomes warm after 3 hours of heavy use and the quality is equal to 720p but you need to take breaks occasionally and for an entry level product this is enough for now, I am sure they will advance farther in the coming years.

This device did not disappoint me. The experience of different VR movies and visuals made me feel I was part of the scenes. The 360 photos made you feel you were there. New content is added all the time. The only issue I have is difficulty getting the phone seated correctly each time. Great deal for intro to VR. Make sure you have the correct phone.

I got one of these for my daughter and one for me. The ease of use and the graphics are just off-the-chart amazing. I knew this would be amazing, but it's actually far better than even I imagined.
