The video quality is excellent most of the time. Some programs are pixelated. Battery power is provided by your Samsung phone & WiFi is the best option for streaming video. Netflix throttles streaming on most data plans. Aside from Netflix streaming, the amount of videos is currently very limited. Once the novelty of the limited amount of 360 degree videos wears off, watching Netflix is the only option left.

I am impressed with this tech, more impressed that this is just the beginning. I know it might not be the best resolution , but still is pretty impressive to watch Netflix and some 3D movies in oculus movie theater. just for that its worth every penny. Also OK in the comfortable level compared with other headsets.

I believe for what it puts out and what experience, it should be more expensive. Having an IMAX screen to yourself in Void theater definitely made the movie watching experience amazing. The HD 360 videos are amazing and definitely look forward to the development of more material. Only downside is the phone overheating and that's a different review. As long as if you're watching your own downloaded movie and have the wifi and mobile data off, I didn't have an overheat issue watching a 2 hour movie

great virtual reality for samsung galaxy products-S note5, s6, s6 edge s7,s7edge only .. Don't bother trying to use other products for you will be plenty sorry . The cost is reasonable -$99 . so I bought 3 of these. make sure to keep front panel off and your battery fully charge while using these. Oh, yes please find a seat before you begin your totally immersed experience.

If you haven't tried VR and don't want to spend tons on a computer and full VR set this is perfect. Its cheep and if you don't like it then you didn't spend a lot of money on upgrades and gear. Definitely recommend for any on who is unsure if they would be a likely adapter of VR. Plus if you wear glasses this works too.

I had first seen this when my brother-in-law brought his Gear VR over for me to try. I wasn't sure if it would be worth it at first, but as soon as I put it on and saw how amazing and clear everything was, I knew I had to have it for myself! Both my phone and my wife's phone fit into this (Samsung Galaxy 6 edge+ and Galaxy 6) and we have not had any problems with either. The ONE and ONLY downfall I have found so far is that the selection for games and experiences is small so far, but Oculus keeps adding new programs all the time, and even since I bought this, there have been numerous new games and features added. The touchpad makes it easy to navigate the menu's and works for most experiences, but to get the full experience, I'd recommend a good bluetooth controller that you can use to control more of the action driven games and apps.

The quality of materials on this vr is great. I pre-ordered this item and it was on my door step the day it was released. The oculus vr does not have a ton of free apps, but it has many good ones in the library.

So here is the thing... I'm an iPhone guy. I never had any interest in these things but someone gave me Samsung note for gift and I was mostly using it for kindle and Hulu Etc to keep my iPhone memory free. I saw this and figured I would play with it for a few days just to see what all the hype was about but would must likely return it. Boy was I wrong. I love watch Netflix on this and some of the virtual tours have just been awesome. It even got me considering 360 cameras

This Gear VR is something else. You will experience something that you've never had before, it feels like you're being transported to another place. It is comfortable for extended use but picture isn't HD sharp but still good. I recommend using a Note 5 and a wireless noise cancelling around the ear headphones for maximum enjoyment. Beats Studio Wireless is the one I use.

I have been looking at VR for quite a while and even purchased a google cardboard for a friend for Christmas. I was looking for something more comfortable to use and a better experience. The Samsung Gear VR is definitely that. While it is still a limited market for the price makes what you get worth it. It is not just a gimmick as I am still using a month after purchase.

Most of the limitations are based on available content but this product is well worth the money. It will only get better as more content becomes available. Phone tends to run hot, plug in when you use to assist.

It would cause my galaxy S6 to overheat, which makes the phone show a message saying to let it cool, in under an hour, but was really great/cool for that first hour....not sure if I had a defective one, but I ended up returning it and haven't gotten a new one due to wariness.

This Little helmet, along with your Galaxy s6 series, Note 5 and or your new S7 and S7 edge, will literally take you into another world. This thing is amazing. While the Video in some things, are a bit blurry sometimes, just keep in mind, things are going to get better and Video a lot sharper in the coming year. The Gear VR is well worth the Price tag.

It's a little heavy but an awesome experience for sure

I received this as a gift and was quite surprised. It required a little setup but nothing to difficult. Once it was set up I did find it had a good sample of pictures and movies to explore the capabilities of the glasses. It is a bit limited on content but when sharing with family, it kept us busy for well over an hour and we were not even done! I did load some movies onto it from the web, so that adds to the entertainment value. I'm not much of a gamer, but I think that could be a lot of fun with the Gear VR. One complaint I have is it does seem to overheat with my S6 edge. I did find, closing down all apps, reducing the lighting, and not putting the cover on seems to help.Overall, it's a fun product and a great gift!

I purchased this after watching my daughters play with it in the store for about 40 minutes. I had always thought of VR as a bit of a joke, but they got me to try the unit out. I slipped it on and was immediately on stage with Paul McCartney watching him sing Live and Let Die. I could look all around and see the drummer to my right and the lights to the back and above. WAY COOL. For less than $100 bucks, a fancy toy for sure. I have since found that there are cheaper ones out there, even some made with cardboard. However this totally fits the Samsung devices and gives a much better experience. A few cons: 1) Needs more VR content. Time will tell if we hit a tipping point and more VR content is available or if this fad goes the way of 3D... 2) It works fine with the edge, however you can see the edge of the screen being a bit blurry and I believe this is because of the curvature. Not a huge negative - still way cool... 3) Could have better optics, however these are much better than the cardboard glasses (I have since tried those) and likely it would raise the price out of the toy range so not a huge negative.

This is so much fun. You feel like you are transported to a different place. The Only complaintsuccess I have are that some games will overheat the S7 edge and makes it freeze up. I hope they are working on that bug. Also there are only a number of free games and videos for the VR

I looked at a few comparative reviews prior to purchase. The minor improvements and the ten dollar price difference from the previous version were the main factors in my purchase. I did try it out in-store first, as well. Didn't quite understand the trend until I tried them on myself, then I totally fell in love with it. I also thought it'd be a fun thing for my family to experience. I've only used the free apps, they suit me well enough for now. But there are several apps that you can purchase for variable and fair prices. I like the Netflix App. It's like watching shows and movies on the big screen, even though it's set in a "cabin-like" setting. The VR space is amazing! The only reasons I didn't give it 5 out of 5 stars is because there are a few minor flaws. Sometimes when I plug my phone in, it doesn't connect correctly or it'll take several tries. Also, the piece that plugs into the phone has a tendency of coming off. And, if you don't remember to lock your phone in place every time it can fall out. I suppose that could be considered a user error, but to me it's still a minor flaw because it snaps in and feels secure. I hope for a few more apps in the future, but for now it's a great little pastime on a rainy day.

The gear vr has come a long since the first one. i like that with this new one you can fit any of the new samsung phones. I just wish there was more apps. overall its a great product for entertainment!

This thing is absolutely amazing! It is an awesome first time journey into VR and blows Google Cardboard away. I've showed it to almost 40 people over the holidays and every single one was impressed and couldn't believe their eyes. If you own a S6 phone or Note 5, this is a must buy. Or, if you don't, maybe it's time for an upgrade!
