At first i did not know what to expect when purchasing this item but my kids really wanted to try it. I think I have used it more than them! The experience is amazing. Samsungs Oculas app has a ton of free apps to try with are amazing and even the paid apps are not too much to be able to enjoy. The only thing stopping this from being a 5 star is that all of our Phones would over heat from too much use. I believe the app uses a lot of memory on the phone and just cause to heat up a lot, however the VR unit gives your a notice letting you know to give time to cool down the phone.

This was included in my Samsung S7 purchase, and I have to say I'm surprised by how much I like it. The VR is pretty immersive and I've found myself forgetting about the real room I am in. It's not perfect, as there aren't a lot of VR apps and games yet, but the few that are out are pretty fun. If you're not sure you want to get into VR, or if you want something super casual (as compared to the Occulus proper or Sony Playstation VR coming out) this is a good introduction for the price point. Note, that it does run your battery down on your phone pretty quickly, but over all it's a fun experience.

I'm really impressed with the VR feature, It does get warm if you have a lot of extra things on, so shut off location and keep basic things running and you should be able to enjoy VR for good amount of time

This product at 100 dollars is a great investment in experiencing the early stages on VR. It gives a preview of what the future holds. It's a much better experience than Google Cardboard. It's not comparable to the 600 dollar Oculus Rift, but this device is a fraction of the cost.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband who was looking forward to the Oculous Rift being released spring 2016. I thought it would be a good opportunity for him to try it in advance, as well as to be an instant toy. He did enjoy it but discovered quickly that he may have to reconsider the Oculous Rift due to motion sickness! Who knew that would be a concern? This product works beautifully with his Samsung phone and delivered everything promised. We recommend purchasing this to try prior to spending the extra money on the more expensive product to be sure it will work for you.

I ordered the gear VR because it was on sale and I was curios what all the fuss was about. well believe me when I say it blew my mind.. you fell that you are in the middle of the action even feeling dizzy or fearful when you look down or up.

Easy to use! It's a great gadget! Works great with the note 5!!

So far I'm actually impressed. Sovfar, content is pretty limited to the Oculus store but they do have some cool stuff that puts the tech to good use. I would recommend using a Bluetooth controller for games unless you like tapping the side of ther headset.

Costs less overall compared to an Oculus Rift or HTC vive, yet has almost all the functionality of a working gyroscope-enhanced VR system. Best of all, it's portable for experiencing VR away from home (such as vacations or long road trips). Lenses do frequently fog up during first few minutes of use, and you should make sure your phone screen is relatively free of dust and scratches before each use (it also won't work with phone cases or clear screen protectors). Using the Gear VR will also consume a lot of phone battery, but thankfully the headset has its own microUSB charge port. I recommend you have a long extension cord to plug into an outlet and/or a large external battery charger of 3,000 mAh or more for extended use. Finally, be sure to have plenty of internal storage space for Gear VR apps and videos, as the required Oculus app currently does NOT support SD cards for storage. Used with Samsung Galaxy S7.

Initially I was impressed by the VR experience with this device, but after a few days of use, started to get headaches (most likely from using it for over an hour). Also, my phone's battery drained quickly and overheated with extended use. I recommend keeping the outer cover off to allow the phone to breathe. Also, with my GS6 edge+, the resolution is not very vivid, more like 480p vice true HD...this did hinder the overall experience. I believe the GS8 will rectify this as it will be able to produce 4K resolutions. Like others mentioned, the VR apps are overpriced and there are very little if any demos prior to purchase - in other words you are stuck if you do not like the VR app you purchased. I ended up returning it and got a Amazon Fire HD 8 (outstanding tablet by the way). I will wait for the next VR for the GS8 to come out to see if the experience is different. I am sure others are amazed by this VR device, on first use most will be impressed, but after the WOW factor wears off you start to see the many flaws that other reviewers have noticed. Overall, very inexpensive way to try to the VR experience if you have one of the supported phones, but I recommend waiting for 4K content on the GS8 and the next VR gear which will support it. For now, this is ok, but just not for everyone - including me.

Since the 1st gen model I've been trying to get my hands on a GearVR ..after reading about the gen 2 coming out for a fraction of the original cost I bit the bullet and purchased it. I was not disappointed it's the best accessory you can buy for a galaxy device. BUY!

I posted a review about the Zeiss VR headset. Go check it out to get a good laugh, and then go out and get yourself THIS VR headset. I mean, if you don't want to (or can't) spend $800 on the Rift, then this is the best alternative out there. That said, I do have one complaint, and that is that it overheats your phone in a matter of minutes, BUT those minutes are amazing! If only Samsung would get their s**t together and make a phone that won't overheat so we, the money-spending public can actually use their product, that would be AMAZING!

This is an excellent product. It might not be as powerful as the Oculus Rift that is coming out but I don't have to upgrade my computer and spend $600 on the VR either. It is a great entry point for anyone interested in VR that has a Samsung Note 5 (which I have).

Nice entry level VR...easy to use and lifelike feel!

This VR headset is good for the money, meaning because I got it for free with the phone. Its a pretty good entry level VR headset, the only thing is that it can get a little tiring on your head, and sometimes it feels like it wants to fall forward because of the weight of the phone. At first they really didn't have that much content, and now they have a lot more to offer. They have a decent amount of free VR content so thats good. If you are looking in to getting into VR, then this headset will be a good start to see if you even like VR.

I was interested in try the Gear VR as soon as I learn than my android phone was capable of, and I have to said, was not a desilution, even knowing than was a low end VR device, was enough for get me excited. Sadly I am one of those few people who get dizzly when use the device for long periods of time and also I learn than my phone can get hot when it is in use for too long. But even so, was a good toy, I don't think I can or will use it everyday all day, but those relax moments it is good to have and enjoy a 360 world there.

I got this with my S7 Edge and I must say, it is a great experience. I have only tried a few of the free options, but I can see the real potential. When watching other people wear the Gear VR, they look funny, but are having a good time.

I really enjoyed the Gear VR. It feels as if it tricks my mind into thinking I am actually there when I play games or watch movies with the VR. At first I was not sure if it would be as good as everyone was saying but it was a purchase I do not regret, only thing is that I am waiting for them to make more apps for the VR

Overall you can't beat all the cool things you can do with this piece of gear for the price you get it for. Honestly I would've gave it a 5 star review if it wasn't for the clip that secures the phone in the front. It does not damage the phone but it definitely could damage the screen protector film you might have on your phone. This is one of the main reasons I returned the piece of equipment. Since it damaged my screen protector, I had to send in my screen protector for a replacement through warranty. Which ended up costing me $5 dollars for shipping and handling and some time of inconvenience. The games that can be played on the system are still a bit limited and expensive. (its understandable since it is a market that is currently new compared to other markets) Overall it's pretty cool!

Very nice device. Lightweight and easy to use. It quickly drains my gs6's battery so there's room for improvement. Also, some videos don't have the nicest resolution yet. Overall, very happy with the product... much more than I expected.
