I dont think geek squad looked at this product before re-certifying. The product was not cleaned and had hair all over the product. the lens were so dirty and so gross. overall a very bad experience. Never again will i buy re-certified product from GEEK SQUAD.

The product came in decent packaging as well as overall great build but the lens for one of the eyes was not clear, so I returned the item

guys, just don't buy it, I have got totally broken item and camera lens socks, it's not worth it

I'm using this with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The good: Image quality Touch pad controls Large library of apps/content Comfortable Provides a very immersive VR experience. The bad: My only major complaint is that there is no easy way to stream content from local network. Instead you have to copy files to the phone itself. Furthermore, the Oculus Video app only works if the files are on the phone's internal memory. Samsung VR is a bit better and will pick up gallery items on the SD card.

Can't beat it for less than $60! Nice product. Wish there were more applications for it, but it is still a lot of fun.

My 10 year old son saw the GEAR VR in the store and was very excited about them. I went to check them out on BestBuy.com and saw the refurbished product being sold for 40% of the new price. I took a gamble and ordered a pair. Buying refurbished is NOT the option to go. The VR came with a scratch on one of the lenses and the foam padding was damaged in multiple locations (the seam was separating). I can't say that I was expecting a "new" item, however I did expect that it wouldn't arrive damaged. It also did not have a manual (get started guide). I have a Samsung Galaxy S6+ and after finding the manual online and figuring out how to connect my phone I tried it out. Functionally it worked, but I couldn't get past the damage. I could see the individual pixels, imagine sticking your face really close to your LCD/LED TV, which I guess isn't surprising, but it also did take away from the experience for me. End of day I can't give a full review of the GEAR VR, only the refurbished model that I purchased through Best Buy. I wouldn't recommend going that route. This was my second attempt at buying a refurbished item at Best Buy and it is the second item that has arrived damaged. The first was a Samsung Gear S Smartwatch that arrived with a broken band that could not be replaced. Point is, the VR seems to be a cool item, it isn't perfect, but buy refurbished at your own risk.

Although Virtual Reality is in its relative infancy, the Samsung Gear VR takes the right approach in this new frontier with an affordable device.
