Most of what they do you can easily figure out if you've done any router set up at all. They also are on the rude side and want full control. They won't teach you how to do anything and want to do everything for you. That means even quick tasks turn into hours when you have to wait on hold for a representative to even be available to do the simple task for you.

Less than impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received 1 year support with purchase of Netgear Router with DST. Had some issues out of the box. Called Geek Squad. More than once. Was not overly impressed with their service. At times it was like talking to that service person over the phone that you just know is reading their answers from a computer screen information tree. If this then click here for this type of deal.

Geek Squad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Netgear AC1900 Router. I am very pleased with the router. It is now working as I expected. My issue falls with the contact I had with Geek Squad. After a week of use, my desktop computer no longer had access to the internet. I was entitled to one year of free phone or on-line support when I purchased the router. The rep I spoke with seemed not very knowledgable. Her answers to me were the room was in a deadspot, the router was defective, it worked for a week because of a temporary boost in the signal or they could send someone to my house for a $99 charge. I am somewhat of a novice, but all of those answers were unacceptable to me. I dragged my second desktop into the same room and it did receive the internet, so none of those answers were correct. I researched and I reset the computer to a previous week. It has worked perfectly ever since. The Geek Squad should have been able to give me this logical answer. I doubt if I would use them again as it was a complete waste of time.

Overall not impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a lengthy time on the phone I actually resolved the issue myself. Not sure if this was a geek squad employee who was not familiar with this particular product .

Horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My router is 2 years old. It was $250 and rated to run 600mbps. I have 200mbps coming into my home. My Wi-Fi speed is 15mbps. I was told that my router ran 60mbps (previous service) for a year so the router couldn't handle switching to 200mbps. Lost all of my business by that comment!

Worthless Service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only service the geek squad gave me was reading the product manual. They then wanted to charge me to have someone come out to my house to install the adapter.

Worthless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My device was never set up properly and because of the geek squad "coverage" on my device, Netgear refused to service it despite equipment failure within the first year. Best Buy was not helpful and directed me back to them. I am now either stuck with a partially functional product or buying a new one at full price because I was just bumped around from one tech support to another. Also - online chat support is not provided.
