A great option as a laptop for your kids

Overall I think that this is a great laptop to consider when you are looking for equipment that requires some power and functionality to offer to your kids but you want a be sure that the price is right and the sturdiness of the equipment will handle the daily use.
My 11 y-o son has been part of this testing so the opinions below include his comments:
First impressions after opening the box: great design and amazingly light laptop, my son loves the color blue that considers better than my “boring grey”. With a 12.5 inches screen, the laptop delivers enough size for games and short readings. I would prefer a bigger screen for homework but I guess that this will increase weight and the risk of break in the hands of a kid.
Smart decision with one single but big sturdy join connecting the screen and keyboard that the opening-closing of the laptop, this will keep it together longer. The camera and the two mics directly in the center of the screen are quite decent.
Positive elements that I love it, a great processor that can handle the needs of a laptop. Windows ten included and the windows 365 subscription for a full year. Those elements justify the more educational use of the laptop in case he goes back to remote schooling. But also opens the door to be used by me during family travel.
You also can see few items that are determined by the price, but in my opinion, are perfectly acceptable and serve the audience that is produced for:
1. The screen colors in 12.5 inches screen are delivered in by a 1366 x 768 (HD resolution). Probably not the first choice for action movie watching but my son enjoys his action videogames.
2. The sound is also good, but not impressive because the speakers are not especially powerful.
3. The storage capacity in its basic model is too short. I think that assuming that a kid's laptop would have less need in this field is wrong. The need for the software (including games) is not lower when we are talking about kids' programs. I understand that the addition of the Micro SD card slot to increase memory is justified and smart.
4. No touchscreen.
Connectivity, with 2 USB-A and one USB-C plus the card reader, a Mini-HDMI for video(check if you need an adapter to connect with the monitor), and the sound jack you have the number of ports that good laptops average in the market. Additionally, see that there is a separate non-USB- standard plug that serves to power the laptop.
Different from other bigger laptops, the heat after some time working doesn’t increase significantly (better than my professional laptop).
The final comments about battery life. He has been testing the product for few days he notices that takes “a lot to run out” (in my words, I will say a few: 3 hours).
This is a very specific product with one of the best quality-price ratios. I am not scared of passing this to my son as his first new laptop seeing the sturdiness of the product and the limited cost. I also think that if the alternative is a Chromebook, this with office 365 is a better option.

Fully featured, reliable laptop

Children are using laptops more and more, whether it be for school, gaming, web browsing and interaction, and communication. It's important to have a reliable, affordable machine that is built tough for the day-to-day and is powerful enough to handle everything kids need. Luckily, the GeoBook 120 is here to help.
The laptop comes packed nicely with a quick start guide and AC adapter. The blue casing is fun and stands out; the shell texture is soft and rubberized to help protect it from the bumps and drops that will inevitably come with kids handling it every day. Battery life is surprisingly long, providing several hours of runtime with regular daily use. The chiclet keyboard keys are a bit flimsy and plastic-like, but at the same time they are very responsive and precise. As this is the main area where kids interact with the laptop, it has a decent, comfortable feel over time.
Powered by an Intel Celeron Dual Core Processor and 4GB RAM, this laptop can do almost everything kids can ask it to do (and literally too, with Cortana voice commands). Browsing, messaging, and processing tasks function smoothly and quickly. The built-in 64GB storage can be doubled with a microSD card. Its 2MP webcam is strong enough in low-lighting for video chat sessions, while its microphones and speakers provide pretty reliable sound. I did notice a little bit of a blueish, darker screen brightness than I'm used to, but this does help protect the kids eyes during long gaming sessions or when remote learning is required for a few hours of screen time.
Lastly, the laptop is packed with a 12-month subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal, giving a child full access to all those programs. The added value of this subscription plus the affordable price tag makes the GeoBook 120 a no-brainer option for kids today.
Finding a full-featured, affordable work and gaming machine for kids can be a chore, but the GeoBook 120 is up to the task. With a solid, safe build, reliable processing power, and more than a few value-added extras, it is a great option for today's computer savvy kids.
Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

Was an OK computer for a few days. Given to 9yo for games and school work. The processing speed is VERY slow and we could not play Tear Down on STEAM without serious lag. Then, the zero button just stopped working. What a disappointing Christmas present from Santa. Took it back with a quickness. Do youself a favor and spend a little more money for a better laptop. Stay clear of this one

We purchased this laptop for my daughter’s birthday - she is a huuuuge Minecraft fan and was super excited. However, she has been using the laptop less than a week and the display has lost almost all color and looks completely washed out. I am very hopeful that the company’s customer service department is helpful because we are extremely disappointed in the product at this point.

The first one stopped working completely within two weeks. I was able to drive 30 minutes to Best Buy and order a replacement since they didn't have any in store; they mailed it within 4 days. I opened the replacement and turned it on to find that the replacement was used and has a broken screen - totally whited out. This is junk.

I have tried to set this computer up and it keeps freezing. I have reset it back to factory twice and it still freezes and will not let me download Chrome or Adobe. Although it says it's past the return date by a week ,I'm going to take it back to the store and see if they can help me out but in the meantime I'm giving it a score of one star.

Hi Yasser, the GeoBook 120 Minecraft Edition has been designed and built to give you the best gaming experience with Minecraft, but other games may be playable as well. To check if a specific game is compatible with this device you would need to check the minimum requirements of the game. I hope this helps!

I bought it for my 9 year old sons birthday ahead of time and within a few days of usage, half of the buttons stopped working, one popped off. I was going to exchange it but it was no longer returnable because I bought it too early for his bday. So it just sits In the box as I stare at it everyday and wonder why to do.

Very low quality. Not all buttons work. Son was unable to play Minecraft on it due to broken buttons. Due to being sick with COVID I was unable to process a return and now I am 4 day late and ineligible. I’m stuck with a broken laptop. Better off paying more for a durable laptop.
