You get what you pay for, and this was a solid replacement in a pinch. The memory and speed are not that great but it still performs adequately.

Spend a little more money to get something nicer. Bought be to able to do simple tasks with and that’s difficult to do unless plugged in bc the battery life is horrible. Can’t start right away out of the box either. Oh and it doesn’t have a normal hdmi port like listed. It’s a mini port so make sure you don’t buy the wrong wire. Will be checking to see if we are in the time frame for a return. I can get my child’s tablet to work better for my needs than this computer

It’s an okay laptop, good for students. The battery is great and can last all day. Fast enough to check emails or do research and for MS Office. The keyboard is horrible but what to expect for this price.

I thought I was getting a good deal since it was on sale for $200. I never heard of this laptop but gave it a chance. I read many mixed reviews but mostly good things were said. Within 1 week of using it the screen was glitching and went black. It also makes a weird noise when I turn it on most of the time. I'm not sure why it makes that noise but it shouldn't be having issues. I've only used it a handful of times and it's okay for tasks. It does seem to lag at times. The mouse is horrible and you have to hit the keys and space bar hard while typing. Sadly I missed the return window it wasn't even a full month to return. I ordered online 8/13 & it was available for pick up 8/19. I started using it a week later and had issues. Return window ended on 9/3 not even a whole month later. I would say save your money and get something better. I used to have an HP & it lasted me 6 years. Definitely do not recommend this.

Lasted 2 years, decent laptop, what ended up killing it was the screen burning, from over heating even tho it was off?, it was good while it lasted I will say that into the 2nd year it became very slow even when wiping the whole thing.

The battery has good life, lasts 3 hours easy (more if you keep the settings optimized). The display is really good. The most impressive thing is that it is very light and doesn’t have fans, so it’s silent. It has a couple of high-speed USB ports. The 128GB SSD M.2 2280 drive operates in the SATA mode instead of NVMe, but is plenty fast enough. Windows 10 operates in S mode, but you can activate the normal version of Windows 10 Home 64 bit if you want. Once you do, you can’t go back to Windows 10 S. Windows 10 S only allows installation of programs from the Microsoft Store (kind of like Apple does on its products). If you know how to clone a drive, you can upgrade the SSD to a M.2 2280 SATA 500GB drive. Opening the case voids the warranty and is not very easy. The are 2 screws under the rear rubber feet that are glued on, so you have to remove the rubber feet to access the screws and hopefully glue them back on after your done. You can upgrade to Windows 11, but it’s a a one way street too. The upgrade went smooth and so didn’t notice any slow down; however there is one nagging error that I keep getting when I try to install some programs (Microsoft.NET parser error in Framework64 config v4.0.30319). I’ve tried everything. All that came in the box was a power adapter, laptop and a very small pamphlet with a few instructions. I didn’t have any key card for Windows nor was there product key on the bottom of the laptop, so I don’t know what would happen if you need to reinstall windows. It’s supposed to have a full year of Microsoft Office, but there wasn’t a key card for that either. This is NOT a gaming laptop. It’s good for typing letters, making spreadsheets, internet, watching movies or YouTube. It should have come with a 500GB hard drive, but it didn’t, so you’ll have to store most of your files in the cloud or a flash drive.

3 days after purchase it won’t even turn on. If it does it’s for a small amount of time, then turns right back off.

It runs well enough for day-to-day computer work, though not well enough for light gaming. The light on the corners of the screen that other people mentioned is there on mine too. For some reason if you have an external hard drive plugged into this laptop and either plug in or pull out the power cable (of this laptop, not the external hard drive), the laptop turns off. That's the only annoying thing I've noticed after a few months of use.

I picked this up on sale because I was excited about the 1080p screen resolution. I might have had a defective unit, but I had some issues that made me decide to return it. My unit had screen bleeding, touchpad issues, and a strange buzzing sound when booting up and unlocking the device. Another reason why I returned it was because of the keyboard layout. Something I didn't but should have payed attention to when I was looking at the photos here on the website is the right shift key. It's a lot less smaller than standard size shift keys and it always would mess me up when I would type. I would hit the arrow key instead of the shift key because of the small size of the shift key. If I didn't have the screen bleeding issue, I think the display would have looked really nice with the full HD screen. Like I said, I may have had a defective unit. The small shift key is something to know about if you think that may impact your typing efficiency.

Bought 2, one for a 10 year old and one for a 7 year old. So far so good. Kiddos can play their games like Roblox and eventually use them for research and typing papers for school.

Opened the box and plugged it in to charge fully. Left it over night and in the morning the red charging light was still on. Tried turning the machine on and it continually failed to finish startup. Tried to reinstall windows from the laptop and it then ceased even trying to turn on. Battery does not charge, machine does not turn on.

The GeoBook 240 is a budget-friendly laptop with a 14.1-inch FHD display, Intel Pentium Silver Quad Core Processor, 8GB memory, and a 128GB SSD. It’s suitable for basic tasks like web browsing and document editing. The SSD provides faster data access, but storage might be limited for larger files. Overall, it’s a decent choice for everyday use if you’re on a budget.
