John Travolta made this a year after he burst back onto the scene with Pulp Fiction and cemented the fact he was one of the most (arguably) successful actors of the 1990s. This blu looks and sounds great, so it is worth the double-dip if you already have the DVD (like myself). The film pokes fun at the absurdity of Hollywood like few other films have the guts to. Totally worthy of a spot in your library.

This movie was one of many Hollywood adaptions of novelist Elmore Leonard's books. He was one of Quentin Tarantino's influences. John Travolta, stars in this movie during the career renaissance he enjoyed after starring in Pulp Fiction. He plays loan shark Chilli Palmer and does a fantastic job of giving a voice to Leonard's words. Fun fact: Tony Soprano, the actor who would later play him anyways, also starred in this film. Though starred is used loosely, as he wasn't a very prominent actor until he landed the role of Tony Soprano.

If you like action movies and you are a fan of john Travolta, you'll like this movie. I enjoyed the movie. Even If you not a Travolta fan you will like this movie.

It’s a great dram comedy. John Travolta is awesome, and The Rock is hilarious!!! Good movie for a chill movie night.

I had forgotten all about adding this movie to my collection, so I'm happy that I found it on sale.

You'll like Divito, Russo, Hackman & Travolta in this film

Based on Elmore Leonard's novel of the same name, this film, boasts of a stellar, A-List cast led by John Travolta, Gene Hackman, Rene Russo and Danny DeVito (who was also co-producer). They were ably supported by veteran character actor David Paymer and the late Hollywood stalwarts Dennis Farina and James Gandolfini. Under Barry Sonnenfeld's direction, the film moves through a fast, slick pace, with lots of witty banter and wise-guy dialogue. Too bad, its sequel "Be Cool" did not do as well critically and at the box office.

When I first watched this movie, It was hysterical. John Travolta was great in his role, as were the other star actors/actresses. When I watched it a second time, I caught a number of things that I missed the first time. If you really want to watch an enjoyable movie, and laugh a lot, I highly recommend "Get Shorty".

Funny comedy with Travolta at the top of his game! Great supporting cast including Rene Russo, Dennis Farina, Gene Hackman and Danny DeVito as the figurative "shorty".

This is a good classic movie at a decent price. Found it in the $3.99 bin. But apparently it wasn't $3.99. Bought it anyway since it is a good movie.

This has always been a favorite of mine. My old DVD was worn out and this was in the bargain bin. It's now back in rotation.
