Customers commend Ghost of Tsushima's stunning graphics, immersive story, and engaging combat system. Many also praise the beautiful open world, side quests, and the game's overall smooth gameplay. Oh Ghost of Tsushima... I have yet to finish this game, but I have some 30 hours or so of gameplay already.
This is a fantastic open-world game that puts you in the role of a samurai facing the Mongol invasion of Tsushima Island. Before an overwhelming enemy with no honor, you must choose between fighting as a Samurai or becoming something else...
I love this game. The mechanics are awesome. Combat makes you feel like a real samurai. The story is pretty good and the setting is just breathtaking. Being an open-world game, GoT has plenty of side stories that you can complete but they never feel pointles or distract you from the main story. Instead, they simply complement it. I don't think I've ever played a game where I enjoyed the side quests as much as the main story... until now.
GoT is a solid contender for GOTY this year!

Deserves to be in your collection, great sound & graphics, lots to do. You never get bored of the scenery. Its a game you can relax to unlike sekiro. The difficulty does pick up but by the time it does you already have your sets of moves to deal major damage. You can play it your own way either as stealthy as as ninja, an archer like robin hood or a hands down samurai. or mix em together, whatever works best. Campaign is about 40 hours but if you want to enjoy the whole thing, do the sidequests like i'm doing ( they're lots of fun) so with sidequests is about 70 to 80 hours . Go buy it!

I feel like gamers have been begging for this title for far too many years. Albeit, the request was primarily sent to Ubisoft and the Assassins’s Creed franchise, but for god reasons - mostly the historical and real-life inspirations the series uses from game-to-game. However, for reasons unknown, the AC never fulfilled this wish - I personally can’t help but wonder if they’re eating their words over that ignorance now that Ghost of Tsushima is out and firing on all cylinders. Even more so, the game Sucker Punch has built largely relies on the same open world mechanics that make games like Assassin’s Creed, Horizon Zero Dawn, Tomb Raider, and the likes. The only thing that separates this title from the aforementioned is it’s biggest point of success: authenticity of the world and its experience - the purity of its playability. This world feels incredibly beautiful, even when draped in the sadnesses and brutalities of war. The story is one that has clearly studied its history, even if using creativity in the tale being told. For those who carry knowledge of Samurai-era Japan are in for a treat, as this too is executed with great success. Playing Jin Sakai feels and controls smooth and brutal, emanating a lot of truth in feeling like a samurai. You can even flick blood from the blade, or bow to the fallen with a swipe of the touch pad. Another cool feature is the flute, something that can be played just as freely. The island of Tsushima is quite a large map, separated into thirds, in which the player locks each region one at a time. The side content is worth exploring every bit. Foxes take you to shrines, as well as there are bigger platform-based/climbing shrines. Yellow birds will take you to other various activities: bamboo cutting challenges, warm springs, light houses, vanity gear, and other really cool things - almost all of them boost a stat, or provide you with new gear upgrades. There’s also character-driven side-stories, and some really cool legendary tales old by different poets and musicians, teaching the player new and specialized techniques. The main story is solid, pitting a young Samurai lord against a dominating force of Mongols, headed by a direct descendant of Genghis Kahn. With our particular protagonist being forced to learn and evolve past the restrictions of the old samurai code of honor, the player can choose a variety of play styles, from stealth to pure action, and everything in between, and with real world reactions to the choices being made. The difficulty is on par with most casual games, nothing like Sekiro, though the sword play does revolve around parry, block and strike - with the side elements, like Kunai and Smoke Bombs, to assist. The difficulty is adjustable as well, making this a game for anyone attracted to its premise. The game is rather lengthy, I spent about 60 hours completing everything and getting the Platinum trophy. The few gripes I do have are small. Mainly, I just wish some of the redundant side activities were trimmed, as the game starts to reach its ending hours, these activities/missions really are kind of boring - and none of it really lends itself to the story after awhile. Second and last, the story sometimes forces certain decisions on you, or plays the story out as if you had been playing differently, and these few occasions broke immersion for me, especially trying to adhere to the honor/samurai code - you will be forced to stealth a few times, and the story will condemn you for it - something I felt was an unfair representation of my character. And made me feel like my decisions hadn’t really carried as much effect as I originally thought, which is a weird statement about a game made by the studio behind the Infamous games. But in comparison to the massive beautiful and ultimately immersive world, with all of its purity and authenticity to feeling like a real Samurai in feudal Japan, this game is indeed a masterpiece, despite its very small issues. This is a game that truly should be experienced by everyone, in my opinion.

So much fun to play. Great graphics. Deep story. Fantastic, deep combat but also very good stealth. Great sound and music. Controls are spot-on. There is really nothing to not love about this game.

The Assassins Creed game we should have had along time ago set in feudal Japan. Seriously. This was way overdue to have a game like this. Like Assassins Creed there are some sneaking mechanics with gameplay. But what really shines is the sword duels you’ll be having with other Samurai. Beautiful scenery even when your just running thru the fields of the country side. Incredible story that you’ll easily get lost in. This will keep you play for 30+hours. Maybe more depending on your pace. But it’s a huge game with great voice acting and beautiful graphics. Probably one of the best Adventure games I’ve played in awhile.

this beats them all for me. Its also the first game that I cared to platinum because its just an amazing all around experience. Combat is phenomenal. Story is amazing and makes you care about every individual character. World is vibrant and beautiful on the Pro. Yeah, its hard to find anything to complain about here. All that's missing is an End Game +. Sucker Punch knocked this out of the park.
Like Red Dead, I'm giving this a break and then going for a second play through. Only two games worth multiple play throughs during this gen of console gaming for me.
I can't wait for DLC and a sequel. Hopefully this becomes a "franchise"

Sucker Punch did an incredible job with this game. As a Western studio, making a game about feudal Japan was incredibly risky. They took care to treat Japanese culture with sacred care. Tsushima island is beyond gorgeous and it's one of the more beautiful open world games I've ever played. There are plenty of things to do with a compelling main story and well written characters.
The combat is a ton of fun with many different options to approach various scenarios. The duels are my favorite part as they are shot like an Akira Kurosawa film. This game is the PS4's swan song.

One of the most immersive and beautiful games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing. The visuals are beautiful and depict samurai era japan in an amazing and gorgeous environment. The story is powerful and moving and truly makes you feel the weight of the decisions the protagonist is forced to make. The gameplay is some of the most innovative and fun action I’ve ever played, the swordplay being just about perfected to the point you feel like a true samurai. Sucker Punch truly hit a home run with this one and I’d recommend this game to anyone.

An Amazing Samurai Adventure

When I saw the early video of Ghost of Tsushima, I knew I was getting this game. Very rarely are we treated to something that feels so much like a real samurai adventure. This beautiful open world journey is both visually appealing and has engaging gameplay elements.
I like how the game tries to stay rooted in the real world, with some mythical elements thrown in to keep fans of Japanese culture absorbed. There are a few nitpicky things that I could complain about and there are some real issues. There are crappy camera angles when fighting at times and if you lose a battle with your enemies, often times it's like the game decides for you that you suck and places you somewhere safe. Either that or it will throw up a "Try again" or "Abandon" selection when you're in the middle of a frantic, angry button mash because you lost a boss battle. They definitely needed to make an option to NOT have that happen.
Other than that, you will definitely find yourself playing into the wee hours of the night (on a work day) trying to save the citizens of Tsushima from their dire circumstances.

One of the best sony exclusives ever played. The world of tsushima is breathtakingly beautiful. The open world with over saturated colors and an overabundance of falling leaves feels very immersive and fun to explore around. And the background score is heart thumping. Combat is sort of satisfying mix between arkham asylum and sekiro, but not as difficult as sekiro is. And there is a Kurosawa monochrome moody mode too for those ardent fans. All in all, the best send off for ps4. Amazing.

Ever wanted to step into the straw sandals of Toshiro Mifune in one of Akira Kurosawa's samurai films? Ghost of Tsushima is as close as it comes. Featuring stunning, colorful vistas, authentic Japanese language performances (including the voice actor for Zoro from One Piece for the lead) as well as crisp, sudden combat, a gorgeous open world and enthralling story. It's a high water mark for not only the PS4 but this console generation.

- beautiful and artistic open world
- combat is fun and playful with the fact that you are a samurai
- plenty of unique challenges and collectibles
cons
- if youve played an open world game where you collect things, you probably know what to expect (repetitiveness)
- cool story moments can feel a little too spread out
- the game can be too easy at times
- could use a few more animations
8/10

Best game of 2020! Deep engaging story, amazing visuals and great game play. I picked this up on a whim and boy am I glad I did. I've been sucked in since day one. The last game to do that to me was Witcher III, so if you like open environment RPG's, this is definitely a game to pick up. Wish I knew about it sooner so I could've gotten the Collectors Edition!

Ghost of Tsushima is probably one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. The environments alone are just that good. The story is quite good with your character helping to fend off a Mongol invasion of Japan. Think pre-modern Splinter Cell in a way. Very good stealth and combat. No bugs that I've found either.

Absolutely one of my favorite games of the PS4 era. A huge open world, great story and killer combat make this game a blast to play. AND it has so much polish - the level of detail and care put into every aspect of game play, storytelling and the tech behind it all is pretty mind-blowing. A must play for this generation and a GOTY contender!

I had been looking forward to this game since its announcement. Most games don't live up to the hype, but this is not one of them!
The gorgeous scenery compliments the fluid battle system and UI. The story is engaging, the side quests are aplenty, and the use of the touch pad intuitive! Don't sleep on this one.

This is honestly the best looking game i’ve ever seen or played and it’s a huge open world and great story. Honestly one of the best game’s i’ve ever played. It reminds me of assassins creed but way better and of course you are a samurai. I really hope they get a PS5 upgrade in addition to the free co-op DLC.

I can't say enough good thing about this game. The art, combat and music are amazing. It'll keep you busy for 20+ hours, with a story that is engaging all the way through. Also, there's a free online multiplayer mode that was released a few months that is a blast. Definitely worth a purchase.
