Join Egon, Peter, Ray, and Winston in all their mastered 4k blu-ray glory. Ghostbusters follows three paranormal scientists who go into business of ridding New York City of ghosts and goblins. As business picks up they add a fourth (Winston-Ernie Hudson) to complete the dynamic foursome. Ghostbusters 2 picks up a few years after the first movie. New York City is more hectic than ever and even more in need of the service of the Ghostbusters. Both movies exceed the picture, sound, and overall quality of the original dvd release. Check it out for yourself!

Being a huge Ghostbusters fan, I've wanted both films on Blu-Ray for a while now, yet waited for a definitive combo pack. At last I ventured into my Best Buy recently and stumbled upon this combo pack that not only was a Blu-Ray set, but is also mastered in 4K!! Yes that's right, the Ghostbusters have never looked better. Better picture, colors and sound! The case also includes a built in booklet with stories about the production of both films and original character bios from 1984. The cherry on top? It only cost me $9.99!! "I ain't afraid of no ghosts!!"

With a Sequel just as good as the First one. Ghostbusters has its share of scenes that could win a prize for the most scariest ghost scenes ever in a film. As well as Humor from Bill Murray, Some laughs and Incredible knowledge from Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson is perfect for his part! GhostBusters is a must see! Plus remember Rick Moranis.

C'mon its Ghostbusters! It's great to have these classic movies together in 1 awesome bluray package. There are brand new bonus features that were not on the old green packaged dvd 2pack. Also in the box is a 25 page book (attached in the bluray case!) that is short of a "making of" for the 2 movies and has character/actor bios! Great bluray set

This set comes with digital copies for both movies, discs for both movies, and a book (and I mean book quality) attached to case that includes cast bios, interviews, and trivia. Worth every penny of the 9.99 sale price I paid for this. Only bad thing is the $3.00 coupon for a national restaurant they included expired two years ago. lol

To be honest not a super fan of the second film but the first is and will always be a classic. The movie is just a fun time. Creepy at times but not too creepy and funny quite a bit. Bill Murray always made me laugh too much as a kid a kid and watching this now it's no different. The man was just hilarious. Definitely recommend this if you're a collector of sorts. This is a book package with about 20 pages of behind the scenes photos and details in it.

Classic 80's Comedy that continues ot age well

I've loved the Ghostbusters movies since childhood. Some movies from the last century, especially those that rely heavily on special effects, don't age especially well. I have never found that to be a problem with Ghostbusters, however. The comedic antics of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Dan Aykroyd are timeless. And while the ghostly effects of the films may be dated, they are nonetheless effective for telling a fun story.

Really don't need to provide a review for the movies here at all. If you haven't seen these... do it. If you have and are a collector but don't own them already... well, really? This a nice set, it's a book-style case with background info. I already had the DVDs so this was an upgrade. Does not include the weak 2016 reboot. That's a selling point.

If you like Ghostbusters this upgrade is perfect. I enjoyed watching these movies again, looked a lot better in blueray, I would recommend get these in blueray. You won't regret it. You might want to also pick up the new one with the woman in it, I would recommend it too.

Even though the sequel isn't as good as the original, it's still a good deal getting 2 movies for a nice price with some neat bonus features to boot. Sure there's some 4K UHD versions now but apparently they're not leaps and bounds better than these already very good Blu-ray versions.

Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver and Dan Aykroyd headline the cast when time to investigate and trap ghosts. In the second movie the gang returns when trouble returns. These two movies are supernatural classics and are fun for the whole family.

The 1980s were home to a handful of memorable comedies, but Ghostbusters (1984) stands tall as one of the most original. For the five of you who haven't seen it, we're introduced to recently unemployed scientists Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) as they form a unique ghost removal service in the heart of New York City. Naturally, they don't have many clients at first: one of the few is Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver, above), who's recently encountered some unexplained happenings in the fridge. The three scientists---along with new recruit Winston Zeddmore (Ernie Hudson)---work their way up the paranormal food chain, eventually encountering an entity that threatens the entire city. Naturally, there's other roadblocks along the way, including whistle-blowing EPA agent Walter Peck (William Atherton) and the doubting public. It remains one of the undisputed classics of the comedy genre, though Ghostbusters doubles as a fine thriller in its own right. Ghostbusters has held up surprisingly well over the last 20+ years, thanks to a sharp script, excellent performances, groundbreaking special effects and even a memorable theme song. The popularity of the original spawned an endless amount of toys, lunchboxes and even an animated series---but that's not to say that adults can't enjoy this one too. There's plenty of thrills along the way, but it's (thankfully) a film that doesn't take itself too seriously. From top to bottom, Ghostbusters was a terrific concept that was executed to near-perfection, thanks to the talent and creativity of the cast and crew. It's easily one of the strongest comedies of the 1980s (or any decade, for that matter) and truly deserving of its massive success and popularity. The inevitable sequel, Ghostbusters II (1989), is an entertaining follow-up that rarely gets the respect it deserves. The original creative team of Aykroyd and Ramis teamed again with director Ivan Reitman to ensure the second outing was just as fun as the original...and it was, for the most part. Taking place a few years after the events of the first movie, the disbanded Ghostbusters (who went out of business due to property damage lawsuits) have scraped by in their own unique ways: doing unsuccessful public appearances (above), working in bookstores, you name it. Naturally, a new threat emerges to bring them back together; this time, it's a mysterious river of slime and a possessed painting at the museum where the recently-divorced (and single mother) Dana works. There's a few ill-timed jokes and gags that don't work as well, but the sharp writing is the star of the show once again. Additional highlights include a terrific performance by Peter MacNicol as the eccentric Dr. Janosz Poha, a cameo by Ben Stein, and Bill Murray's non-stop string of smart remarks. While I was a bit too young to vividly remember the original film in theaters, I do recall seeing Ghostbusters II on the big screen...well, the first 70 minutes at least (my sister got really sick, so we had to leave). It's not quite as memorable as the first time around, but the film's many strengths really keep the pace going nicely. Chock full of laughs, over-the-top characters, suspense, and even a generous dose of embarrassing late late-'80s music (Bobby Brown, represent!), Ghostbusters II is a solid sequel that's better than you remember.

Ghostbusters was such an incredibly iconic comedy that just never gets old. That is why I purchased this commemorative boxed set a few years ago, and even though the second film was a bit of a letdown, to be able to get both movies plus a 28-Page (5.25" x 7.5") souvenir at such a reasonable price, this has to get a 5-star rating. Now the rumor is that this sacrosanct classic will be getting the reboot treatment with an all new cast of Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy & Kate McKinnon as the next "paratroopers of the paranormal" under the direction of Paul Feig. I'm only somewhat familiar with his work, but I wish him luck though for I would not want to be in his shoes. This boxed set comes with 2 slim DVD cases with the following data: --------------------- Ghostbusters - (1984) "Suit up for classic comedy! When Doctors Venkman (Bill Murray), Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Spengler (Harold Ramis) suddenly find themselves downsized from the University's parapsychology department, they decide to go the entrepreneurial route, chasing down ghastly ghosts, unappetizing apparitions and the occasional insolent succubae. But the paratroopers of the paranormal face their greatest challenge when the beautiful Dana Barret (Sigourney Weaver) discovers her refrigerator door leads directly to the gates of hell! Now with the whole world watching, it's up to the Ghostbusters to keep Manhattan from becoming a madhouse in this hilariously - haunting action - comedy!" Sidelined after their spectacular save of New York City five years ago, the heroes of the hereafter once again answer the call when an underground river of ghoulish goo threatens to rot the Big Apple to the core. Dana Barret (Sigourney Weaver), Louis (Rick Moranis), Winston (Ernie Hudson) and Janine (Annie Potts) are all back for the ride as these supernatural superstars swing back into hilarious action!"
