I first saw this movie at the local theater in my home town. I am a big fan of both Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor. I have been looking for the dvd (and earlier the VHS) for a long time. I never get tired of watching this movie. It has romance, action, and family disputes and values all in one. You laugh and cry and just enjoy the story. I get so involved in this (and other movies), that I feel like I am there living what they are going thru. Great movie for the younger generation to see how life was. For both those with and those without.

It's one of my favorite films. A true classic. A shame it took so long to be put on Blu-ray HD quality when I would think a classic like this would be put on Blu-ray DVD in 2006 when Blu-ray movies were coming out. I enjoy the Special Features it is packed with and I surely do enjoy viewing the film in High Definition quality.

This is an excellent movie about a wealthy family on their Texas ranch raising their children & growing their business. Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson & James Dean all did a great job in this movie.

Giant is a great classic movie. If you can get this digibook edition, I highly recommend it.

This is a Classic. It is one of the very few time you can see the immortal James Dean in pictures!

James Dean Giant movie on bluray and you get a book about the movie. Its really good to have them both.

I hadn’r Seen before but my wife wanted it for Christmas.

This film was a successful Hollywood production of classic Americana. Being Native West Texan, I relate to the racial expression that Director George Stevens documented, from the adaptation of Edna Ferber's novel, about racial discrimination for Mexican Americans. This classic film is the Southwest version of the South's Jim Crow law. I also recommend the documentary "Children of Giant" available here on DVD

Money in all generations be they past or today seems to be universal in it's corrupting qualities. With the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and the great new James Dean, film maker George Stevens does a brilliant job bringing to the screen life about the Texas oil boom and the people behind it. Because of a car accident, this film would be Dean's final movie. Dallas and J.R. Ewing could only dream of being this good.
