Questionable thermal pads, good otherwise.

It seems that Gigabyte ignored the fact the memory is very warm in these 3080 and 3090s. Thankfully you can remove the screws and replace the pads yourself without having those stupid tamper stickers on top of the screw. Otherwise this is an acceptable card and actually looks better in person than it does in the pictures.

Got A Lemon

Mine arrives and will not work. Power is not being distributed through the card or something. Had to return due to unknown RMA time.

Great card with one major flaw

The thermal pads on the VRM modules are cheap and do not transfer heat to the heatsink quickly enough. In certain games and in crypto mining this will cause the GPU to throttle degrading the performance by up to half. This only happens in certain games and will happen every time while mining. The solution is to replace the thermal pads on the VRM modules with higher quality ones. This will run you about $50.00 to do this and will take about an hour of your time (there are videos on YouTube that show you how to do this - it is not hard). After you replace the thermal pads on the VRM's then this is a fantastic card with above average cooling that runs quiet. The build quality is also very good. Not sure why they went with cheap thermal pads though. If it came with better thermal pads then I would give it 5 stars.
