Tried and True - Worth it
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 40 series came out and was met with disdain from the GPU community for it's high price tag and lackluster performance, but when building my first rig in a long time, I spent a LOT of time researching, trying and coming up with a build to my specific needs: High framerates in newer titles, 1440p and able to bump it to 4k when I felt like it with some still high framerates. (My main games are Destiny 2 and Diablo 4) This card delivers. It outperformed my expectations. It is priced a bit too high, but if you can get it open box, it is a steal. The biggest thing over the previous gen and AMD cards? Power consumption and efficiency. I was able to adjust my build to a lower wattage power supply ($100 less) and get the same performance out of similar cards from AMD. That alone was also gave me the ability to have more fun with the build and fit everything in a smaller case that still never saw temps over 75 at full load. Frame-gen being what it is and how it will become more prevalent in the coming years makes this card a solid choice for a mid-range build.

great GPU
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent card, nice temperatures, and quiet I must say that after using this card for about a week, I like it. Runs 1440p nicely and smoothly, with reasonably low temperatures (about 60 at load) and a low power draw (approximately 140w - 180w most of the time when gaming). The fans only come on occasionally, presumably out of boredom, and make very little noise. I can now achieve 165hz at 1440p with little power and no noise, which is fantastic. There is also the possibility of DLS3, which has not yet been tested because it is not required, as well as ray tracing. Only 1 x 8 PIN connector is required = Excellent. Windforce OC is somewhat quicker than the reference version, which is a little advantage. The only disadvantage is the asking price.

Best all around $4070
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stays cool and looks good. This a great upgrade for anyone upgrading from a 3070 or lower tier card and games at 1440p. Positives: -Pricing debate aside - It performs like a 3080 but with significantly less power consumption and better cooling. -The 8 pin connector -Stays very cool and quiet -Didn't have to upgrade PSU Cons -Could be cheaper but offset some cost selling previous GPU. -Sure AMD has a few better performing cards in this class but way higher TDP with random power spikes along stability and driver issues.

4070 review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GeForce RTX 4070 is one of the most balanced GPUs in NVIDIA’s 40-series lineup, offering strong 1440p performance, excellent power efficiency, and modern features—without the massive price tag of the higher-tier cards. Performance 1440p Gaming: This is where the 4070 shines. Most modern AAA games hit 80–120+ FPS at high or ultra settings with DLSS enabled. 4K Gaming: Playable with DLSS, but not a true native 4K card. Expect 50–80 FPS depending on the title. Ray Tracing: Very solid thanks to 3rd-gen RT cores. DLSS 3 frame generation makes ray-traced games much smoother than previous generations. Efficiency Extremely power-efficient: around 200W TDP, far better than previous RTX 30-series cards. Runs cool and quiet, even in smaller cases. Features DLSS 3 + Frame Generation: One of the biggest upgrades. Makes games like Cyberpunk, Starfield, and Alan Wake 2 feel way smoother. AV1 Encoding: Great for streamers and content creators. 12GB VRAM: Fine for 1440p, but starting to feel borderline for heavy 4K textures and future titles. Pros Excellent 1440p performance Very power-efficient Strong ray tracing + DLSS 3 boost Quiet, cool operation Good for gaming and streaming/content creation Cons 12GB VRAM could age poorly Not ideal for native 4K without DLSS Price/performance varies depending on brand/MSRP Who It’s For 1440p gamers who want high FPS without insane power draw Streamers who need AV1 encoding Creators doing video editing, rendering, or AI workloads Anyone upgrading from 20-series or older 30-series cards Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) The RTX 4070 is a powerful, efficient, and feature-rich GPU that hits the sweet spot for 1440p gaming. The only real downside is the VRAM amount, which might limit future-proofing, but as of now it’s a very strong card for both gaming and creative work.

The best you'll get in this overpriced market.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this card after a 7900XT I purchased had a lot of driver crashes and coil whine. This card is dead silent and maintains excellent temperatures and as expected NVIDIA's drivers are very stable and I haven't had one crash. I upgraded from an RTX 2070 and now I can run all of my preferred games and newer games at 1440p 100+ fps and with access to DLSS I expect to get a few years out of this GPU.

A good way to catch up if you're behind
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 4070 is a lot like the 2070 I upgraded from. Compared to its contemporaries its the definition of "budget" performance and is certainly able to hold its own on current AAA games at 1080p (max settings) or 1440p (setting adjustments required). Pairs well with my I7-9700K and will be in my machine until games outgrow it. Pros: - Whisper Quiet, borderline inaudible. The fans don't kick on unless the GPU deems it necessary so most of the time you won't even know it's there. - Excellent performance boost (for me, your mileage may vary) - A good starting option for newcomers. This has been true for every -70 model GPU since the 1070. - Low power profile. Unless I'm crazy, my old 2070 super founder's edition seemed to siphon power like mad, and this one seems to just daintily sip at it like a good little boy. Cons: - Size. This card DEMANDS space. Be sure to check the dimensions of your case before purchasing. In my specific case, It clears my ATX motherboard by about half an inch and almost touches my other power cables. (Case is Corsair 110R for those looking for specifics) - Price. You can get similar cards for cheaper but if you want to stay "current" without spending $800 or more this is the closest you'll get Summary: All in all the 4070, especially this one, is a good buy if you don't have any other option. Do not use this card for 4K gaming. This is not what it's for. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. 8/10

Very solid upgrade from a 6650 XT.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very solid card for the open box price. MSRP/Full Retail, not so much I’d say. Runs BF 2042 on High, 4K, and DLSS on Quality seemlessly with G-sync 60HZ. I haven’t tried Ultra yet but didn’t notice much difference playing on Ultra with my 1080P monitor so I haven’t bothered to try. Quiet fans, even locking fan speed at ~90-95% in Afterburner while gaming. When left on auto, the front fan closest to the bracket just kicks on and off which annoyed me to no end. At first I thought it was faulty but when manually adjusted it was fine and running along with the other two. Not sure if that’s meant to happen or what but I’d rather have a cool running card than slightly quieter system since I use headphones anyway. Runs extremely cool at that speed, 24c idle on desktop and 48 load with 2042. Try and grab one on Open Box - Excellent. You won’t be disappointed.

Gigabyte's 4070 Review and Opinio
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing card, performs really good against games that require high power, I was really struggling to run games 144HZ on a 1440p monitor with a 2060, now it is no issue for this gpu, it is a high end graphics ard that can easily run games in high or ultra and get 160 fps, It is also great for value, I have seen other cards that are around 700-800 dollars for a 4070, but this just beats the competition and the market aswell, My opinion, great card with good performance Price: 10/10 Performance: 10/10 I highly recommend you buy this card

Open Box 4070
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Grabbed the card open box and a pretty solid deal. 12gb vram, 3080 performance at 180 watts or so and cool as can be. If you can grab one for $500 it's an awesome buy, but I'm not sure I would've been as likely to buy if it wasn't for best buys open box option.

Efficient/Reasonably Priced/Respectfully Powerful
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This card is an ideal blend of efficiency and performance! I may not have the ideal 4k performance or have an ideal amount of VRAM (I wish it had hit the 16 GB mark) but it comes in at a some what reasonable price and is still able to deliver on HD gaming. I've used it primarily for playing Counter Strike 2 and been running 4k at an average of over 100fps for the most part. My system was power limited to 600W due to it being a small form factor case (although it's running in a test bench for now) and I've managed to run this card, an AMD 7800X3D, and M.2 + 16 GB of RAM while not running into any power or stability issues. I am super happy with my system and don't see needing to upgrade for a few years at least!

Compact, clean, quiet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Open box pricing sealed the deal, but the card delivers 3080 tier performance with low power draw and the gigabyte model for me ran quiet, like clean, and fits in more cases than some of the 300+ mm variants

Good Price/Quality balance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty happy with my purchase. I changed an MSI 2070 Super for this one; the upgrade is significant. It's silent and light. In comparison to the MSI I had before, the presentation (manuals, stickers brochures, etc) leaves a bit to be desired. The Gigabyte materials look cheaper, my other GPU was made of stainless steel and the plastic elements looked better crafted, more expensive. But overall price/quality relation is very good I recommend it

Great Card
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On paper, this card isn’t an upgrade over a 3080 in terms of raw performance. In practice, it is a massive improvement for any game using RTX features. Significantly more frames, using less power and easier to cool, by far.

Good but too expensive
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like the card, it's not ridiculously oversized like most other 3-fan GPUs, it's quiet under load with great temps, and the power efficiency is nice. The only con I have is the price, and I have to subtract a star because of it. If the price was $450 to $500 I would have no problems recommending it to others.

Low Temps, Low Power, Major Performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great card so far. Stays SUPER cool. Uses very little power. Basically in pure rasterization it's a 3080 12Gb that uses 60% as much power and only costs $600. DLSS 3 pushes it well past 3080 performance and is honestly amazing. I thought the added ~10miliseconds of input lag from DLSS 3 would be noticeable but it really isn't for a non-competitive gamer like me. oh and it just uses a regular 6+2 pin PSU power cable. Good deal overall.
