I am loving this 4080.
Everything about it is good. In my opinion it is quiet. It is cool. It looks great with the RGB lights and the performance is amazing.
With the gigabyte software, you can easily control the lights to match the rest of your set up
Obviously, it is expensive, but it is worth it in my opinion.

The RTX 4080 is a great performer and doesn't cost any where near the 4090. 16gb of video ram makes it more future proof than the other options like the 12GB 4070Ti. The 4000 series GPUs support DLSS3 and Frame Gen which make ray traced games perform even better. This specific model has a really beefy cooler, it doesn't break 60C even while playing the most intensive games at 4K. Fans are super quiet and won't even spin for regular desktop use or web browsing. There is only one thing you need to worry about and that's the size of this thing, it's HUGE! Check the measurements and make sure it will fit in your case.

I received this as a present from my GF. Big time upgrade from my 5700xt. I play on an ultrawide so the more vram definitely helps. Install was easy just dont use the included adapter, Get a proper cable.
As many have said, this thing is huge! I ended up upgrading my case too as it did not fit 100% with my old case, i couldnt get side glass on. (o11 razer edition to Nv7)
Overall I am pleased, RGB fusion is still trash but honestly there is only 1 real light you can control and its the gigabyte logo. The lights on the fans only turn on when the fans start to spin.
Also the included sag bracket is a nice touch however, it will not work for all cases.

Recently I built a rig utilizing a i7-13700K paired with a 4070Ti. I came across a listing for an open box 4080 for $960 and rolled the dice and picked it up from Best Buy. At under $1k this GPU is a must buy if you are looking to upgrade from a GTX or RTX 20 series GPU. Its powerful.... its a 1440p beast and you are going to get high end 4k performance out of this card. DLSS is the difference maker of course when it comes to upscaling w/ ray tracing vs the AMD competition. Rasterization AMD is probably the better value with the RX7900XTX.... however you also run the risk of dealing with bad drivers when it comes to AMD. I have not had any crashes on any modern games I've thrown at this 4080 so far.
With all that being said. The RTX 4070Ti is probably on the better value side but if you are sitting around the 4070Ti budget of $800 and you can score an open box 4080 in your area for under $1k I'd say jump on it. I would put the 4080 w/ DLSS3 vs the 7900XTX all day. FSR just isn't there yet.
The build quality of this Gigabyte card is excellent. Runs cool and quiet!

If you put price aside, this is an amazingly powerful GPU. The size of the cooler ensures that the card stays cool. It has enough VRAM to last you sometime as well.
I cannot recommend it at full price. I had some older computer equipment I sold and I purchased an open-box version of this card. Between the two, I feel like I got a decent value.

excellent video card. as open box ($935) it worked flawless.
This card runs 2786 MHz core 12102 MHz mem at 225-230watts after under volt. Temp is around 62-65 and fan noise is low. My CPU is i7 10700kf runs at 5.1 GHz. worried about CPU but it runs fine for now. Soon I will upgrade CPU.
only con is just little bit too big I don't think it needs to be this big but it is fine.

I am replacing a RTX 3090 that came out of my gaming rig as friend needs a gpu. My 3090 was very hot and loud but great performance. This 4080 runs very cool and very silent. I have a Phanteks P600s case that fit the card great but make sure you check your case the card is huge i mean really huge. I can see the performance uplift for sure. Took one star off for the price even with Best buy having a sale. Thats current state of top tier cards i guess. Comes with very nice anti-sag bracket. Use it!

This card is a beast, it will handle everything you throw at and if you must enable all the eye candies, DLSS 3 will make everything run smooth on supported games. The card is great but is expensive compared to past generation. If you need a card right now, go for it! If you have a 20 or 30 series, skip this generation because price/performance ratio is just not there.

So, I was thinking, should I purchase this 4080 for a little over $1300 instead saving money and being a responsible adult. Ya no, I didn't do that. I told the gentlemen I wanted to purchase the card about 10 seconds after he said "Is this the one?". Heck ya, great card, this can blow through any large games your mom wants to play when she comes over to my house. GTA, that harry potter game, Tarkov, Battlefield, steam adult only games, you name it. All max settings and not a word from your mom about how Hogwarts takes 10 mins to load between each door, or how all the characters look like a 90s game. Buy the card, sell mee-maws gold hidden in the floorboards at the old ranch or find you that one girl who will buy it for new year tax season. Get this card, you thank me or mee-maw.

Upgraded from a 3080, was worth it for me vut the price was hard to swallow for the gains. Runs starfield max settings 75% fsr at over 60fps almost everywhere but big cities (50ish). Paired with 11900k, and 16 gb 3600 cl14.

I saw on YouTube that the gigabyte gaming OC 4080 model uses the same cooler/VRM as their 4090. Temps seem to stay low and it runs pretty quiet too. 5-star performance, 1-star price, averages to 3 stars.

Great temps due to the overbuilt 4090 cooler. Zero coil whine and very quiet fans. Unfortunately, value is not so great due to the price being so close to the 4090. Would recommend waiting for the incoming price drop or purchase at open box price.

Purchased this card open box. Card is enormous! Paired with a 5800X , performance is spectacular but I’m CPU limited in a number of applications but I am still very happy with this upgrade from my 3070 Ti FE. Card doesn’t break a sweat with any games at 1440p, never gets above 60C for the most part, fans don’t even need to turn on with some games. This thing could probably be fan-less given the size of the heatsink, it’s overkill! I’d say pick one up if you can find one for around 1K, otherwise id probably have stuck to my 3070 ti.

If I had an option at the time of purchase, I'd have gone 4090 for roughly $200 more and a significant performance bump. Unfortunately they're never in stock.
With that said, this is a fantastic card that runs VERY cool. The only issue I ran into was with the included stabilizer, as it doesn't work with the NZXT H7 flow. This wasn't a big deal as I already had a card support from my previous build, and the h7 flow has great PCIE slot support.

Im coming fro EVGA 3080 ti ftw3. One of the best gpu i ever had. Very well built, powerful and silent. My first impressions of Gigabyte Gaming OC is that could be better. It could have a better built quality, a better software and a better bracket to hold the GPU. For the price i was just hoping for a better overall product. In regards to performance, it is powerful and silent. Runned some tests and im very pleased with it's performance. The bracket for holding it is a joke. Didnt fit on my asus strix but luckily i had one from my 3080.

GPU is good, handles titles like Cyberpunk 2077 or Starfield maxed no problem while still keeping good temps, however only problem I had was how tough the software was to work with for the RGB and ended up using a third party software instead.

Bought an open box unit, and I am not regretting it! Runs cooler than my 3080. Warzone 2 at very high graphics in 2k only heats this card up to 60c. Idles in low 30s. I am pretty sure it uses LESS power than everyone thinks. Running with only a 750W Phanteks PSU and haven't had one problem. Plays for hours with no lockups so far. Clocks itself up to 2.82Ghz at times!!!
