Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080's exceptional performance, impressive cooling capabilities, and high frame rates in games, leading to overwhelmingly positive feedback on graphics quality. However, some customers note the card's high price point and large size as potential drawbacks, while others mention software and power supply compatibility issues.

Too Power Hungry to Justify An Upgrade

First and foremost, as of May, 2023, these are still way to expensive to justify an upgrade from a 30xx series card in terms of value. That aside, snagged a more reasonably priced Open Box in excellent condition. Disappointingly, and despite the minimum requirements data, my 850 watt Seasonic power supply failed to provide enough juice for the 4080 to run stably. I even called and reached a tech support agent at Gigabyte by phone and listed my system specs and he pretty much flat out said that anything short of a 1,000 Watt PSU might be problematic. Getting a new PSU pretty much blew any potential deal considering the cost vs. performance gain I'd get given the current exorbitant MSRP Nvidia has set. If you're prepared to blow $1,500 regular retail with taxes to gain whatever percent performance you find acceptable -- go for it. For now, I'll just wait it out should Nvidia come back to reality and price this level of GPU to something more within reason.

Its an RTX 4080. It will get the job done on most any game you have at max settings at 4k. Just be aware of the size as you might need to modify your case to fit it. Also be sure to plug the 16pin power adapter in completely to avoid potentiap issues with electrical shorts.

It has the same exact cooler as the 4090 so it keeps this thing super cooler. Even overclocking to 3GHz with max power limit the card stays super cool and quiet. Although the build quality is kinda bad as the shroud is plastic.

User I bought this at a great price from Best Buy, which I'm happy about. It's worth noting that it might not work straight away, so you might need to use onboard graphics to first install the necessary drivers and firmware. I only used the included software to update the firmware. After that, you can remove the default software. I suggest using Fan Control and MSI Afterburner for your needs after that. I also recommend turning off the fan lights. The light effect is rather intense, with a single LED for red, blue, and green that spins with the fan, creating a strobe effect. This might be a bit much for those sensitive to fast flashing lights. Unfortunately, there's no option for more gentle or constant light. Despite the terrible RGB lighting, it's a solid card.

At the right price, this is a great value. The card doesn’t get hot under load and performs well. Only issue is it is so huge I can’t fit my side panel on my case.

Card itself is very powerful and can basically max nearly everything out. 1440p and maybe 4k. One thing is if you play more competitive titles or less graphically intense games then you will be fine with a less powerful card.

It is a high quality product but I have to return it due to the size. It is SUPER BIG AND HEAVEY and if you have a mid tower it might not fit!!! You will definitely need a support rod or something.

Good card for 4k runs a little hotter than advertised I’m getting temps in the 72-75 Celsius range which isn’t too bad but some reviews state they’re temps are in the low 60s. Runs very quite nice rgb definitely worth a purchase

My last two gpus were from AMD. Most recently coming from a PowerColor rx 6800 xt Red Dragon. After deciding to pay the premium and try out team green, I can honestly tell you that I am sold on Nvidia products for their quality. The mere fact that Nvidia cards are more supported by game developers and that their features are available across more games alone is enough to warrant the high price. But when you couple that with the fact that the hardware itself is just vastly superior, there is no question in my mind that you get what you pay for. Even the drivers are better. Best graphics card I have owned and I think the price is justified
