Full Size Hotswap on a Budget!

I have a GMMK Full Size and TKL, so this review covers both. These boards are an incredible value for what they offer: A strong and sturdy board with hotswap capabilities. They are, however, weak in two areas: The LEDs are unbelievably dim (and are north facing,) as well as the full size having a non removable USB cable (the TKL is removable.) These GMMK boards are super popular though, for good reasons. There is a 1-star review on this product that states the switches for sale next to it do not work with this product, here’s why: This board is for plate-mounted switches. The Glorious Switches sold at Best Buy are PCB mounted switches. What’s the difference? Plate Mounted = 3 pins / PCB Mounted = 5 pins. A Plate Mounted Switch will snap into place onto this board with no issues, but the PCB Mounted (like the Glorious at Best Buy) will need to have (2) plastic pins cut off of the bottom to fit in this board. It does no damage to the switch as they’re only there for integrity purposes. I’d recommend using a pair of side cuts to remove them. Just remember, you can’t turn a 3 pin into a 5 pin, but you can turn a 5 pin into a 3 pin!

While there are better barebones boards out there, a lot of them aren't easily accesible. The fact that for 60 bucks you can grab a solid base for a custom mechanical keyboard off the shelf at a large retailer is a selling point for people who might want to tey it out, but are intimidated by the amount of options and research. This board with some cheap Kailh or Gateron switches, and the also-at-Best Buy Hyper-X pudding keycaps will give a solid start. My only real complaint is the integrated USB cable. Would have rathered a swappable usb-c.

RGB, hotswap, included keycap + switch puller is nice. Stabilizers are fine (not clipped, but fine for most people). Only 3-pin switches supported (but thats fine too). Would like a detachable cable but its good on a budget.

Quality feels good. When it works its awesome! Bought it to be a new keyboard for work, put it all together and it randomly disconnects. It keeps power from the computer but as soon as you use the FN + (other key) to change the lighting, it stops too. It wont reconnect. There is no reset button like the pro has. Got a whole hour out of it. Got a little longer out of my personal laptop. Glorious customer service was zero help to suggestions, best buy offered suggestions i found online which didnt fix it unfortunately. Sending it back sadly.

300$ value for ~120$ when you add this with parts.

if you are like me and don't wanna spend a bagillion dollars on a high-end keyboard and even if you did none of them have what you are looking for, look no further! This is literally DIY keyboard building except you don't have to know all the nitty-gritty stuff like foam and stabilizers and all that. You just get the *high quality* baseboard and then put in the other parts and boom you have yourself a 300$ keyboard that you got for maybe 120$ in total. Honestly can't see any reason not to go this path unless you are asking for a birthday present.

Works very well for me so far. RGB software seems functional. Lighting looks good. Installed Cherry MX Browns (the new versions). Make sure you get the 3 Pin switches, as Cherry sells both 3 and 5 pin (they call them w/o and w/ pins) Wasted 20$ finding that out, not this product's fault though.

love the weight look and the feel of the board with the V2 aura caps. Kept it cheap for starters with some Gateron Browns, it is the best typing experience i have had for an at home keyboard. The software is lacking compared to what is out there (im sure that is all fixed with GMMK2/pro) but for the Price this is the best!

The concept is cool for a fully modular keyboard. The switches being interchangeable makes it awesome. It replaced my 5 year old K70 which i didnt think it would be able to do. Glad i got it.

This is insane. i bought this board in store and a bunch of parts and pieces all within the same section next to each other thinking “oh sweet they have everything i need!” NOPE BIG MISTAKE! this board is literally not compatible with ANY of the pieces that are also sold RIGHT NEXT TO IT! WHY? THAT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE. so now i have to take this board back, return it, and order the board that is actually compatible with all the pieces that you LITERALLY SELL IN STORE from the manufacture website because YOU DONT SELL THE COMPATIBLE BOARD! someone make this make sense for me please. im a tually stunned by this it makes 0 sense.

Switches fit snug but are also not a pain to remove. The metal top plate makes this feel very sturdy. I used GamaKay Pegasus switches and love this combo so far. RGB is vibrant without being overbearing. Overall, I'm a fan!

It doesn’t work very well it has this fun effect of if I’m pressing a key A or D trigger while driving my tractors in farming simulator 2022 and in other games causing unwanted tractors in ditches and my characters randomly running out from cover in warzone tried to warranty it through the manufacturer however they said they couldn’t honor my warranty don’t buy glorious.

I like it, but disappointed in Best Buy

I want to like this keyboard, and I loved everything about it. The light, the RGB, the sound. A couple big issues with this thing though. Firmware was horrific and keys would register multiple presses for seemingly no reason, and would shut off completely, not registering any input after 2 hours of use, needing an unplug or restart of my PC or both. Also it came with a scratch on the back with some sticky adhesive. I ended up buying the GMMK 2 and was very happy, but disappointed in this one. I know that this board came from Best Buy like this as well because it was wrapped in decent packaging when I received it. Disappointed.
