In reality I'd probably give this closer to a 4.5, but I'll round up for how much I enjoyed it. Boss fights felt a bit easy-going outside of the few superbosses and they were a bit lax with the amount of checkpoints provided in the main story fights. The combat system had a lot going on that could have been too much, but the story makes up for any of those shortcomings. Watching them grow Kratos as a character from the original is great. Really curious about the future direction of this franchise.

If you like GOW, you’ll continue to love this. Great story, combat gives you a varied play style, and plenty of challenges.

I have been a long time fan of God Of War games and this one did not disappoint one bit. As far as the story is concerned, it really was the icing on the cake for me. Perfect conclusion to epic characters.

Great game, amazing story, great gameplay mechanics, I could go on and on, BUT, I was very slightly disappointed at the lack of kratos and his saying of “BOY!” When I played the last game, I could use it as prompting to annoy the wife, but now? Now I must find my own excuse to annoy her with the phrases “BOY! WOMAN!” Or “CHILD!” This took the wind out of my sails a bit, but overall, the game was an absolute masterpiece. The story was captivating, the gameplay was perfect, awesome game.

Excellent game! Fantastic follow up to the story from 2017. If you own a PS5 make sure you grab this masterpiece 10/10.
