The second entry to the Godzilla king of the monster series, a prequel to the upcoming King Kong meets Godzilla movie, is pure fun. The monster CGI is excellent, very realistic, the story line is top notch, and you really care about the human characters in the movie. The monsters though are the stars in this one, from the beautiful Mothra, to the three headed villain, this movie is one to catch on the big screen.

This is a very good take on the giant monster characters of the past. There is something for everyone who likes this type of action movie: good CG and practical effects, good monsters, a story that follows in the footsteps of the environmental/humanity protection theme of the past, total destruction, and an interesting thread that carries on from the previous movies. The only thing missing is the jiggly rubber suits.

Let’s cut to the facts, if you like Godzilla, I’d you like action, if you like It the 90s show Early Edition and if you find Vera Farmiga strangely attractive like me, you’ll dig this movie. The steelbook looks dope, sure the human characters don’t offer much but overall who cares? I paid to see Godzilla fight Mothra, Ghidorah and Rodan. In all seriousness, it’s a fun movie with awesome visuals, I’d recommend it.

I have been a Godzilla fan since childhood & have seen most of these movies-this is the best so far: The monsters have never looked better, and kudos to director/writer Michael Dougherty for making a film that pays homage to the Toho studios origins of these giant monsters while creating a new origin mythology for them to exist.

Man thinks he has a handle on the world, and the universe, however, these things where he long before man. And legends speak of Gods who were mighty and walk this world and lived in the universe. This is who "Godzilla is he is part of the balance." I would highly recommend this movie to everyone the special effects are amazing

If I could describe GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS in one word, it would be Phenomenal. If they were alive today and seen this film, I firmly believe without a doubt that Ishiro Honda, Harou Nakajima, Akira Ifukube and Eiji Tsuburaya would be very proud of director Mike Dougherty, Bear McCreary and the whole team behind the film. It was action-packed, intense, thrilling, emotional, beautiful and incredible.

This series of Godzilla movies gets it. Sure, the kaiju are updated versions of the originals, but modern effects just lends itself so well to making these creatures feel epic and dangerous! Pay no attention to critics whose job it is to literally criticize - this is a fun popcorn movie and thoroughly looking forward to the next installment with Kong in a few years! PS - another win for home 3D content!!!!

My inner 8 year old was thrilled with the collection of beasts presented. Fantastic fun. Of course, in order to do this the plot had to be pretty weak...and the story attempted to make a new religion out of the cheesy 50s icons. Instead of being monsters...suddenly there is this bizarre reverence for the critters. I really enjoyed most of the movie, but felt that it could have been handled in a more serious manner. ( I was kind of disgusted by the tired old they are more worthy of the planet tripe )

Godzilla king of the monsters is a good follow up to Godzilla and Kong of Skull Island and firmly ties both creatures to the same universe. King has a lot more action and features classic Toho creatures like Gihidorah, Rodan and Mothra. Tho I wish more action took place in good lighting, the battles are mostly exciting. Tho the human characters are pretty cliche there is a little more depth than usual. A good time and fun for monster lovers but the 3d is not as well done as the earlier Brian Cranston film

Godzilla King of the Monsters is a Godzilla fans dream come true. There are so many references and Easter Eggs pointing back to the original Toho Godzilla films that true fans will appreciate. Hearing the classic movie music and seeing the kaiju treated with the respect they deserve makes this a must for all Godzilla fans.

Godzilla is an action packed, visually stunning and audio engrossing movie. This 4K disc is definitely demo worthy. Thunderous sound and gorgeous to look at. The story is not as good as the 2014 release(where’s the 4K version?) but it’s entertaining. This movie sets up the upcoming Godzilla vs King Kong. Can’t wait.

I know the movie was criticized heavily for its storyline, but finally, some Godzilla action you can be proud of. The 2014 version was story driven with little Godzilla action. This movie however, gives you all the action you'll need like the good old movies you grew up on. Plus it helps that Rodan, Mothra & King Ghidorah also make their American debut in this movie. You will be entertained.

This steelbook, inside and out, is absolutely gorgeous to look at. The only thing more satisfying is the movie itself which has tons of giant monsters fighting each other with top-of-the-line VFX. What more could you want?

Easily over hyped for the box office in my opinion. Storyline was good could of easily been better but the action scenes for the monsters was top notch. How they brought each monster into the movie was really awesome too. The battles were just like how I remember watching them back with Kevin and Bean but with color haha. If you're a real Godzilla fan this is a movie you won't want to miss.

An exciting, action filled, special effects laden extravaganza. Any one whoever watched the old Godzilla movies on TV should see this follow up to the 2014 Godzilla. It's got decently drawn characters and puts a room full of giant monsters in your viewing area. The 4K transfer might appear dim to some but that's the filmmakers intent as shadow detail is maintained in the dark segments. Scenes that are lit well are stunning. The multi-track soundscape is totally enveloping. Go for it.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Fantastic!! I'm so glad that they made this movie so the young generation can experience the thrill of seeing Godzilla and his foes. I first saw GODZILLA starring Raymond Burr on a black & white television. Back then I had to wait a long time for the net work to show Godzilla to air again. Now you can own your own GODZILLA movies on DVD, Bluray or 4K.

Am a big fan of Godzilla. They did not disappoint with this movie. I was not expecting a plot twist, but it does become obvious closer to the reveal. If your a big movie buff; you'll figure it out quickly. Regardless; this movie is awesome. The kaijus are awesome and due put up a good fight. The story of Godzilla and how he gets around was well thought of. Looking forward to another one.

Great movie with plenty of action from start to finish. 3d picture and sound qualities are much more immersive than the 4k version making for an enjoyable experience. The 4k steelbook is nice and with the addition of a adhesive disc hub for the 3d version makes for a great combo set. Keep'em com'in Bestbuy!!!

This 2019 version is absolutely awesome! I thought that the 2014 Godzilla movie couldn't be equaled, but Godzilla: King of the Monsters hammers it. What a great story with cutting edge special effects. The acting is brilliant, and the story is intense as it keeps you on the edge of your seat. The soundtrack is also superb. Everything blends together to deliver an outstanding experience.

As a true Godzilla fan since I was a little kid, I feel like I've been waiting for this movie for over 50 years. To finally see Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah brought to life with modern special effects and with the original Godzilla theme music, I was elated. Yes, there were people in this one also (not very memorable, but at least their lips moving matched the dialog!)
