Such a gorgeous set. Huge book of godzila goodness!!!!

I’ve been a Godzilla fan for over 20 years, and I absolutely love this set. Some of these movies are on blu-ray for the first time ever in the US. Not only does it have all 15 Showa-Era movies, but it has the 1956 US version of the original film. And it has the original Japanese version of King King vs Godzilla (1962). The US version has been available for years, but the Japanese version has not been available on the US till now. The movies look better than ever before. The set is huge, with some great artwork and an informative booklet. Highly recommended for any Godzilla fan.

Honestly, it's a little bigger than I would have liked. I was expecting a really thick, but compact book with all 15 movies. However, what we got is arguably better. It's really more of a coffee table book that you leave out to impress guests. Criterion never releases anything low quality and this thing is high quality as hell.

This is an excellent blu ray collection. Each movie is remastered for excellent blu ray quality with special features for each movie. The Book is gorgeous with great artwork. You'll want to read and look at the pages as much as you want to watch the movies.

Booklet was cery cool and well constructed. Very awesome gift for any godzilla fan.

When I was a kid, Godzilla movies were fairly hard to find, and many simply weren't available in the U.S. Nowadays, with the Legendary series and Shin Godzilla bringing renewed attention to the King of Monsters, it's easier than ever to find these movies. Criterion's collection brings the early, Showa-era films together in a beautiful package that falls just short of being perfect. To start with the good, you are getting the entire run of Showa-era Godzilla films, from the 1954 original through Terror of Mechagodzilla. If you like rubber suit kaiju movies and classic sci fi special effects, these are all prime examples. All of them come packaged together in a magnificent, hardcover book that includes impressive artwork and a fascinating overview of each film -- not just a plot synopsis, but a historical look at the context of the series. I have to dock one star, however, because for the most part the only versions available are the Japanese originals with no dubs. For the original, they do include the American release (titled Godzilla; King of the Monsters), while for King Kong vs. Godzilla the international release is the standard version and the Japanese version is available as a special feature. Beyond that, however, unless you understand Japanese you will be reading subtitles exclusively. In some sense, I tend to prefer this, because it means you are getting the movies in their original form, as originally intended to be viewed. That said, I loved these movies as a kid, and I would have liked to be able to watch the dubbed versions for nostalgia's sake. All in all, while not perfect, this is a great collection and I'm glad I purchased it. If you enjoy Godzilla or Showa-era kaiju films in general, this collection is for you.

Criterion's release of all 15 Showa-Era films. First time all these films have been available in one place on Blu-ray, and a great value that Best Buy price-matched!

It's very much worth the steep price. Get the set while they're available, you might regret it later if you don't.

If your a hard core godzilla fan like I am this collection is definitely worth every penny!!!!

I bought this as an Xmas gift for my nephew. I know he will love it

The first thing that hits you when you open this package, is the size. This box set is GARGANTUAN, a size befitting the King of the Monsters. When it comes to presentation, this set is a 5/5. Sadly, it's not just presentation here, and this set has a few things keeping it below that perfect five. While it is the most complete offering of this era of Godzilla films to date, the masters used in its creation frequently have visible splices on the edge of the visible frame, which can be very distracting at times. Additionally, it is somewhat disappointing that many of the films on the set are missing their English US cuts, although this is more understandable as many of these may not have prints or negatives in condition to be released to Blu-Ray.

Criterion does an outstanding job bringing all the classic Godzilla films together in one literally gigantic set. The films range from classic to campy to literal Mystery Science Theater material but it all comes together in a very fun experience. The packaging and special features are extensive, and Criterion goes the extra mile in presenting alternate cuts, dubs and documentaries galore. It all comes together in a coffee table book full of Godzilla art from around the world.

This is a product very worth buying for, for a hardcore Godzilla fan.

Awesome compilation! Love the old monster movies and this is the entire collection of Godzilla! I love the way it is put together like a big book... Even has lots of illustrated pages, so it is a book! The majority of the films are in Japanese, so unless you understand that language, you'll need subtitles! Out of all of the movies in this collection, only 2 have English dubbing! Well worth the money. I love it!

I have been a Godzilla fan ever since I was a kid. When I saw this box set I was very excited. This set is very cool with all the hard to find movies available in one set. Highly recommend.

I love Godzilla. This will be a family heirloom I will pass down to my son. Plus it's awesome. Awesome Art, Awesome Movies, could not ask for more. EXCEPT MAYBE THE HEISEI ERA COLLECTION WHICH I HOPE THEY DO!

I have been a fan of the Godzilla films and lore for over 10 years and upon seeing this incredible set, I did not hesitate to purchase an endearing gift for myself.

This is a great collector’s item! I bought it for my son because it’s impossible to find a good copy of the older Godzilla movies in English dub. But this collection got them all.

Well I'm a cinephile AND a kaiju eiga fan, so this was pretty cool, besides it arrived on perfect shape and without any imperfections, excellent service.
