A nice long album with some great stuff. I find myself listening to songs five and six over and over because they are ssooo good. Then I listen to the whole record again and remind myself that there are many great songs on there! KWS is my favorite band for all the right reasons. No one out there plays better than him. Noah has such a powerful voice that he does justice to whatever he sings. Great guests join them on this album as well. I am very pleased with this latest record and happy to add it to my collection. Keep them coming Kenny Wayne, your fans never tire of you and your band!

There's nothing new or ground breaking on this cd but, since this is just a bunch of covers of older blues songs , one shouldn't expect it. Overall I enjoyed this cd and there's no denying the guitar talent of Kenny Wayne Shepherd. This is a cd for people who love the blues; if you want a more contemporary sound, this isn't it, but, I don't think that would surprise anyone.
The liner notes have a few short thoughts from Kenny on the blues masters & songs that he covers.

KWS and band have recorded a great collection of songs from some great Blues artists including SRV, Freddie, BB, and Albert King, Buddy Guy, and Muddy Waters, to name a few. Special guest appearances from Kim Wilson, Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Keb Mo' , Robert Randolph, and Warren Haynes spice up the arrangements. I recommend, Goin' Home,
from Kenny Wayne Shepherd for all blues fans.

I have always been a k.w.s fan of his original work . However this is a stellar compilation of great blues songs with a kenny wayne twist. For me Kenny always brings the right amount of Rock to the Blues, I just can't see how this could disappoint anyone that is a fan of good old electric blues.

I love KWS and he is awesome. This cd does not disappoint. He went back to the greats who gave this genre a name and put his only style to it. If you love KWS you will love this album.

The song selection is great and musicianship top-notch. The liner notes provide insight into why the tracks were chosen. I went for the bonus track edition -- why wouldn't you?!

KWS put this out right after his ride with Stephen Stills & the Rides. Makes perfect sense. Blues standards done with reverence. Get the bonus track version if you still can.

I've been a fan of KWS for years and this is his best album since Ledbetter Heights. It may be covers but when they are done as well as this who cares. I only wish they had chosen a couple of more SRV songs to cover, after all he wears the influence on his sleeve, but overall am very pleased with the song selections.

I've been a KWS fan for years. I still feel that the best way to experience his playing is in a "live" setting...but this record is a "keeper" for me. He plays with more restraint than he has on some of his releases. Great song selection and a great song selection. Recommended!

Kenny Wayne Shepherd, the guitar master just playing the blues. Covering songs by Albert King, Muddy Waters, Magic Sam, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bo Diddley, Freddie King and B.B. King backed by an all-star band of drummer Chris Layton (Double Trouble), bassist Tony Franklin (the Firm), and keyboardist Riley Osbourn (Willie Nelson), and featuring numerous guest spots by Keb’ Mo’, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Warren Haynes, and Robert Randolph. It features blistering guitar leads and delivers a comfortable, warm, and perhaps wise return to where it all started.

For fans of modern day Blues, Kenny Wayne Sheppard is as good as it gets. With a number of young blues guitarists recording today KWS ranks at the top with Joe Bonamassa and Derek Trucks.
