Great movie.. can watch over and over again.. happy to have added to my library.

Is not full screen or widescreen. Looks almost like a square in the middle. You have to flip the dvd over mid movie to finish. The dvd arrived scratched and the holder broken. Case itself is chipped in corners. I have purchased DVD's in the past for a low price and received them in excellent condition so this is not a matter of 'you get what you pay for'.

I was so happy to get my hands on Goodfellas remastered in 4K! The Steelbook really sets it apart from the rest! I waited months for this to release, and was counting the days! Definitely worth the wait!

Following the rise and fall of a trio of gangsters over 30 years, it's an electrifying, fact-inspired tale of living – and dying. Based on the true-life best seller "Wiseguy" by Nicholas Pileggi, the film earned six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director and was named 1990's 'Best Film' by the New York, Los Angeles and National Society of Film Critics. In 2000, GoodFellas was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the US Library of Congress. Scorsese was awarded the Silver Lion Award for Best Director in Venice. Robert De Niro received wide recognition for his performance as veteran criminal Jimmy "The Gent" Conway, and Joe Pesci, as the volatile Tommy DeVito, walked off with the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Academy Award nominees Lorraine Bracco, Ray Liotta and Paul Sorvino also turned in electrifying performances.

This is a great film with fantastic cinematography. That said, I feel that I get a better picture with the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray. There is a slight, I mean slight upgrade with this picture. I’d say the flaw lies in the grain and the blacks. It’s still a good picture but at times the sharpness falls here and there. It doesn’t remain constant. All in all it’s a pretty good picture but in my own opinion I prefer the picture quality of the Blu-ray. I must say though the audio in this 4K is pristine. With a proper set up you get definite Dolby experiences. Whatever your preference, it’s your choice. Both versions are pretty good. Bottom line I’m happy with my 25th Anniversary version.

What can be said that hasn’t already been said about Goodfellas? One of my favorite movies of all time has finally come back into stock in 4K UHD, so naturally, i had to grab it. Overall i would give this presentation a 3.5 out of 5. It could really benefit from a proper Dolby Vision grade and Atmos mix. I found the color pallette to be extremely dark and the audio to be good with solid separation and surround effects but I was left wanting a lot more.

Goodfellas is often held up next to Godfather in competition for the “best mob movie ever”, but I still give it to Goodfellas. I think the characters and dynamic nature of the film is still as captivating as it was when it first came out. Goodfellas is a very entertaining, faster paced film where Godfather really romanticizes the mob life where Goodfellas just feels realer. This is an amazing set for a great price: the 4K disc, the special edition blu ray copy, and a third special features disc. You also get a free digital redemption code. If you like Goodfellas, then seeing it on 4K is incredibly worth it.

I waited to add this to my 4k movie collection knowing the price would eventually drop like the New Year's Ball in Times Square! Couldn't be more happy, especially for the price. Highly recommended!

there is not many scenes that show off a real 4K quality but the best parts are in HDR. the scene where he goes across the street to beat up the guy in the driveway is one of the best, just look at the background. the flowers in the tress are full of color thanks to the HDR improvements. I have the bluray but this is a must have for any collection. You will enjoy it

For as far back as I can remember, I wanted "GoodFellas" to look great on Blu-Ray. The 2007 Blu-Ray release, while a steady improvement over its DVD counterparts, disappointed in its failure to capture the movie's clarity, sharpness and densities. The contrast was uneven, the image looked too bright, the blackness too cumbersome and distracting, the colors looked relatively dim and, worst of all, there was a haziness that made the tiniest of all details unnoticeable. Whoever was in charge in putting "GoodFellas" on Blu-Ray deserved a good pistol whip to the face. But now comes the 25th anniversary edition of "GoodFellas", in which the movie has been given a 4K resolution from the original camera negative. The results? "GoodFellas" doesn't look great; it looks absolutely phenomenal! The image has a fine, naturally grain quality that gives the movie a documentary feel (which is appropriate since that was the filmmakers' intentions), there is greater detail in even the extreme long shots that weren't noticed in the previous versions (just watch Karen's wedding scene and the famous Copacabana long take in both this version and the 2007 one and the difference in quality is staggering), there are various shades of blackness and color that give the picture more depth (the burial and subsequent digging of Billy Batts, for example, looks even more detailed than before) and contrast, unbalanced in the previous version, is excellent. At long last, "GoodFellas" has come out in a presentation that would make the even stoic Paul Cicero crack a smile. Having watched "GoodFellas" hundreds of times, I continue to marvel at the film's superb direction, outstanding performances, rich visuals and themes, moral ambiguity and its seamless blend of horror, drama and black humor. It's a film that 25 years after its release in 1990 continues to affect me as much as it does to everyone in my generation. Most movies grow dated after numerous viewings; not "GoodFellas". Now on a spellbinding 25th anniversary Blu-Ray set that restores the film to its original form, the movie's power has been enriched. You don't know "GoodFellas" until you've watched this set.

It’s a masterpiece! I hope WB remasters this 4K in the future and gives this classic film the home video release that it deserves.

One of the greatest mob films ever on 4K. Truly the best way to watch this movie.

The violence explodes onto the screen the film’s three main leads give career defining performances!

This 1990 adapted film from a non-fiction book tells the life of a mobster and his wise guy buddies during their life of criminal escapades as only Martin Scorsese can direct it. If you can get through extreme profanity and violence, it is a slice of life that only a criminal can love. Classic mob movie.

No matter how many times I have seen this movie I never get tired of watching it! It was a definite must have for my collection & I have no regrets purchasing it for my own entertainment experience! Now if I can figure out how to watch it on all my semi-new devices that would certainly be a plus!

one of the best mob movies ever made, have it on dvd, bluray and now 4k. the 4k transfer could have been a little better, picture is little dark even with the light on tv turned up but overall very satisfied with it, clear picture and good quality sound.
