I've seen hundreds of horror movies over the years and every now and then I watch one that makes me feel truly unsettled. The original Last House on the Left and the French film Martyrs immediately come to mind...Goodnight Mommy left me with that same icky taste in my mouth. Technically this is a very well made film with some beautiful scenery and excellent performances, especially by the twin boys. If you're looking for blood and guts, you won't find much of that here. What you will find is a quiet, creepy little story that moves slowly along and settles in nicely right under your skin. Looked great on bluray too, so overall a nice addition to my collection!

Goodnight mommy was a pleasant unusual shock and while some reviews did not enjoy this film I found myself glued to the screen even though I had to read the subtitles. Goodnight Mommy is a scary physiological thriller with twists and turns. Even though the first half is the opposite than the second half I found myself loving every moment until the film ended. I recommend a purchase strongly if you don't mind reading subtitles and if your a fan of horror/thriller movies. Goodnight Mommy is intense and great if you liked the Babadook you may like this also I would not recommend the trailer go into this movie blind.

'Good Night, Mommy' is not your typical "horror" film. Before buying, I read some reviews that stated that they didn't like it, mostly because it was in a foreign language film, but such review shouldn't detract you--it didn't stop me from buying it-- from checking this film out, if you're an avid fan of the "horror/thriller" genre and into foreign films. If you are and you want to try a film different from the "clichéd" horror, this is one of those films. It has top performances by the "twins" and it's at a great price.

I had the pleasure to see this in the cinema, and after it was an immediate buy. A dark psychological horror film that'll make you clinch. It has an interesting special feature where you get to listen to the two filmmakers talk about their inspirations. I thought that was neat. One of the great new indie horror films available

You have to really be into foreign films to understand and enjoy this one but I find many foreign films very well made, this one included. The ending does have somewhat of a twist so it makes it better. If you can read subtitles for the length of a movie and like good thrillers, then watch this film.

I really like this movie, good suspense throughout the movie. The tone really changes towards the end, it did not ruin the movie, but I wish it would have had feel the same throughout the movie.

Great horror film. Maybe not so much "horror" as it's more the creep factor, the "willys." Despite the fact the film is in German, it's not a huge amount of dialogue so you don't spend all your time reading instead of watching. Definitely twists and turns all the way to the end. After you realize what has happened, makes you want to view it over to see what you may have missed. It fits the creepy, mental, psychological type of "horror." Excellent movie.

Great movie! Good script and good performances. The script is the best of the movie. Sometimes is a little slow but is a great film.

Very enjoyable movie. Very creepy, and suspenseful. I thought the twist was a bit predictable, but I still very much enjoyed it.

A really good modern horror movie. That's not an easy thing to say nowadays. Maybe Mommy isn't who you think she is!

I'm usually not too big on horror/ scary movies with subtitles cause I feel the reading takes away from the tense scenes but this one wasn't too bad. Has a slow start but when it hits the climax it's truly unnerving

Creepy and disturbing, the film is beautifully shot to give you goosebumps at night.

Usually do not like subtitles but this movie held my interest. Good twist ending.
