Great chromecast and smaller than last model

Works great for casting from a tablet or phone

I can stream both Netflix & Prime, however the Prime Video streaming built into the TV seriously sucks. The Chromecast device allows me to use the frequently updated Prime Video apps and cast it to my TV. While my internet downlink is about 1K times slower, it allows me to download the videos to my device, then cast the video to my TV thereby eliminating the loading message. So far the device works flawlessly.

Great to cast to a TV

Turning any tv with an HDMI port into a monitor for presentations, showing other people websites, training, etc Downside- this will not work on most hotel WiFi’s.

No other power supply needed. YOU DO HAVE TO HAVE A WiFi NETWORK IN THE HOME. Follow the detailed instructions from Google Home (an app necessary on each mobile device from which to cast to the TV) and presto - done. So far I’ve only used it with Amazon Prime and YouTube. Seems like it works best and connects the fastest if the streaming app is started first, then turn on the TV and switch to the corresponding HDMI port. Have used it for a month now, almost daily, and no regrets. Recommendable product.

Tried HDMI to phone no dice, reviews for Verizon hot spots were mostly negative, and they (hot spot) with adding yet another line to my phone bill, was looking pricey. But I was committed to spending whatever at that point. Associate at Best Buy told me he used this for an extra tv he had in his house, I was skeptical. But again, willing to try. He was spot on, been watching whatever I want to since.... and it was only $30. :)

enhanced an old smart tv

So fast and very responsive! This was an amazing upgrade for my 6 year old tv! It added some casting and home networking features that my tv did not have as well as updated versions of apps that my tv no longer was able to provide such as Hulu Tv. For less than 30 dollars you cannot beat the value of this product!

Great Updated Chromecast

Compared with the last model there is no major refresh or update, just an improvement in speed and interface. This was purchased to join the other chromecasts I have, and this is the fastest of them all with the most reliable connection. I really dig it.
