I own a first generation Chromecast. In comparison with this new version, I prefer the latter, since it comes with that small piece of cable that allows me to fold the Chromecast for more convenient use. I have connected it to my Vivitek portable pocket projector and it works perfectly. The only detail that I should comment is the time it takes to change from one movie to another. Other than that I am very happy with this product.

Easy to stream from phone. Make sure you have an open HDMI port. Quick setup. Love it.

Chromecast does a great job of making your TV smart. Very affordable.

We now have 2 of these devices in our house, and they are great. We decided to try one out in our living room after we realized that our Smart TV and the Roku didn't have the HBO Max App. We also realized that it syncs with our Google Photos. So now our TV has become a large rotating photo frame when we are not watching tv. My wife loves it! Also, it is super easy to setup too.

Setup took 5-10 minutes and casting us super simple to do. Very happy with this.

We were given a great size older tv but it was not a smart one, so Chromecast worked wonders!

Excellent performance from such an inexpensive device. Sure, it doesn’t do apps like AppleTV, but this is a fraction of the cost and does 90% of what I use my AppleTV for. Couldn’t give a higher recommendation, I’ve purchased several of these throughout my home and not a single one has given me any problems in over 3 years of use.

Had the first edition for quite some time. Saw this on sale during Black Friday and it works so much better than the original. Almost flawless and is fast!

I can cast most of my apps to my TV. I got rid of cable and use YouTube TV, Amazon Prime, etc.. I would have given it a 5 star if they had given me a way to cast my phone (any app, anything that displays on my phone) but it doesn't have that ability. It would be nice to add channels like HBO and Showtime from a single Chromecast interface, but it isn't a real app. It's just a way to cast a lot of apps to your TV at 4K. I can use Amazon Prime as the the service to add channels like HBO, so it isn't a big problem. Setup was easy and flawless.

Normally this would be an easy setup BUT you can't set it up with a Pixel phone!!! I had to borrow my friends Android and from there it was follow the on screen instructions. Once it is setup, it works just as you would expect. I like that I can cast from my computer.

I am really enjoying using this product. Easy set up and easy to use. Works great with my iPhone.

Perfect quality and wonderful connection with a perfect compatibility with the google home

We do not have a smart TV, and needed to be able to cast videos streaming on Facebook, YouTube, browser, etc. This has done the job excellently. It uses the Google Home app for the smartphone. I have not figured out a way to download the Google Home app onto my PC laptop, but so far that has not been necessary. We did not need the newer model; this one does the job very well.
