One of the best devices out there

Being able to cast things from your phone is super useful from pictures to YouTube video to 3rd party apps such as the motortrend app that aren’t available on the Samsung apps. I got it in a bundle for 25 but even the 35 dollar price tag is worth it all day

Reliable Streaming

I'm impressed with how well the Chromecast units have worked so far. Streaming pauses very infrequently and picture quality is very good. I like how easy it is to cast a stream to these units from any device where the YouTube TV app is installed.

Google Does It Again

For myself, I upgraded from a Gen1 product to this latest version and noticed a considerable performance up-tick in 1080p performance (no long waiting while video is buffered and decoded) with faster decoding and much improved wireless connectivity.

Perfect for Older TVs

Took it to Ireland and streamed Netflix to the AirBnB tv. Use it with an older flatscreen in the back bedroom...just in case you want to chill away from the fam.

Chromecast

I set it up through google home and was able to cast right away. The scenery pictures on the home screen while nothing is casting are beautiful. Let those play on a rainy day... You got yourself a relaxing time

Excellent streaming device

Most of our TV sets are older models, which means they are non-smart units. Instead of purchasing smart TV's, Goolge Chromecast is the least expensive way for streaming. Of course, we cannot stream everything with it like smart tv does. But is just enough for us.

Easy to setup and use but wish it had a remote

However it does buffer quite a lot when using for Netflix. I also do not like that you have to use your phone as a remote. Amazon fire stick is much nicer as it comes with a very nice remote and does not cast off your phone so no buffering really.

No issues streaming whatever I want

I can now stream from almost any platform directly to my TV. It's been excellent and a great purchase instead of buying a whole new TV! Easy to set up, easy to use, easy to control. No issues with connectivity or anything else.

Turns any TV into a "smart" TV.

Wonderful when paired w/ 3rd party apps which can send video from sites like twitch.tv directly to it. Nothing wrong w/ Twitch's app, but I get tired of the need to click the 'cast to device' icon and have it constantly showing up on my phone.

Pretty handy when you want to watch something fast

Just tell GoogleMini what you want to watch and she puts it right on. The only issue/problem is sometimes the connectivity fails when first turning on the tv and you have to unplug and plug back in. I’m not sure if this is the internet on my end though. Once connected and going, no problems at all. Note this will not turn your physical tv on and off which is slightly annoying.

easy to connect from my smartphone to tv budget

It lets you Stream Cast (or ChromeCast) with the download app whatever device you have to the ChromeCast to the TV like YouTube. Great standard definition 1080p picture or get the upgraded version 4k ChromeCast.
