Customers are impressed with the Chromecast's ease of use, streaming capabilities, and picture quality. Many appreciate its affordability and the ability to transform a standard TV into a smart TV. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a physical remote control was a common point of feedback. The small size and generally positive performance were also frequently noted.

Makes watching movies in the living room quite simple. On the negative side, the Chromecast doesn't show on my phone 100% of the time even though it is connected to the home wifi. Anyway, it works almost all the time and does a fantastic job when it does so I didn't take stars from it.
This is my 3rd chromecast, and I bought one more to share with the family.

This is the 3rd Chromecast, and 4th overall, I have personally used or own. Bought the 1st Gen stick until signing up with YouTube TV for this 2nd Gen.
It's easy to set up through the Google Home app, and instantly gives you access to everything from streaming tv shows and videos to photos and music. It updates automatically as long as the unit has power or tv is turned on.
Bought this specific unit for my family who's only used Roku and regular DVR.
Does take some time to realize there's no on-screen menu with all the apps listed but it's more minimalist. Your phone is also your controller, which some may not like, but works across all devices including laptops.
I'd suggest testing before any decision whether strictly using your own device to control, or having a dedicated controller, is for you.

I bought this, because sadly, my A/V Receiver only Supports Audio over Chromecast/AirPlay. As I needed it for an app that only supported the former, I picked this up. It does a great job of streaming from our phones/tablet without a hitch, and setup was a breeze. I just have to knock a star off because using Google Home to view available apps for Chromecast was a bit confusing, but as I already have pretty much all the apps I need on other devices, it wasn’t a big deal for me.

It’s works good with my Apple product or in general for anyone in my house with all types of phones. It’s easy to use and set up. Mirroring will require an app for iPhones , but it’s much cheaper than the Apple TV and it works perfectly for when you take your mini projector with the Chromecast and make a hot spot for a movie date.

I purchased this to upgrade an older flat screen so I could stream to it from my phone. It works wonderfully. I just added the app to my phone and after the setup I was able to stream content from Youtube and Facebook. I have enjoyed being able to stream my favorite exercise videos to the tv. If you get one, you will love it!!!

I bought a chromecast about five years ago and it was starting to act up. It could not connect to my wifi or stay connected. I purchased this new one and the installation and operation is ten times better than the old one. It looks only slightly different from the first one but works so much better. They have definitely improved it.

I purchased this to use for casting my Oculus Quest 2. For this purpose it is excellent! Once setup I haven’t had any problems casting.
For other purposes it’s awkward. No remote. You need to use your phone and cast streaming services. Which makes you phone unusable IMO. It dropped connection a couple times while watching Netflix when I checked a text message. I would give 2 stars if it weren’t for the Quest casting.

I bought this item not expecting too much from it. I needed to cast some video from my Oculus Quest. After I connected it all, I was surprised how easy it was to set up, and there was no lag on the casting from my device all the way to the TV. I'm happy with it and it is worth it.

Great for improving your non-smart tv. I get to watch many of my subscription plans off my phone to tv(Disney ,Hulu, Netflix, paramount, hbomax, and ESPN +) not to mention YouTube. Great addition to any home rather than buying another smart tv($100+), for only $30

I have had this product for about 2 years now, it was great for my old TV that was not a Smart TV. I have invested and bought myself a Smart TV, but passed down my old TV to my sister and she set up the Chromecast with her phone and has had minimal issues. The issues mainly come from our Wi-Fi. Overall, it's a decent product for old non-smart TVs.

It is one EVERY TV in my house! I love the integration with all of the other Google devices throughout the home. Works flawlessly with Google Hub, and all of our Android phones. I can tell a Google device to play music or a TV program on any device that is on the network. Literally used each and every day with our YouTube TV subscription.

Easiest way to stream from your phone to your TV. It’ll plug into an HDMI port and you can power it through the USB port on your TV or with an outlet. You control everything with your phone. I have one for every TV in my household.
