Beware, you must charge these before installing, especially refurbished units. After talking to Nest tech that was a big issue. At least 30 minutes.

Your Nest thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostats can resolve the battery drain problem.

Posted .Hi gkbm, thanks for letting us know that your Nest Learning Thermostat works very well. We hear your concerns about the schedule being complicated to set up for you. With Auto-Schedule, you don't have to manually program your thermostat to save energy. Simply change the temperature whenever you like in the app or on the thermostat itself, and your thermostat will learn from your preferences. After a few days, it will program a schedule for you, based on what temperatures you like and when you want them. If you don’t want to use Auto-Schedule and prefer to manually program your own thermostat temperature schedule, you can turn this feature off, then create or adjust the schedule the way you want it using the app or directly on the thermostat. Like new but defective unit

It worked flawlessly the first day. However after the initial day it stopped kicking my fan on for longer than 2 minutes. The ac unit outside would run, but no fan would engage. That could have frozen my unit and lit money on fire with the u it running but temp not dropping. Will be returning as it is defective.

I love the fact that it is motion-sensored, so when you walk by it tells you the temperature. nice reminder.

So I went ahead and bought it and then made an appointment for the Geek Squad to come and install it. When they came out they said that it does matter what type you buy and that they are not a universal fit. So long story short make sure you know what kind of heat you have before you buy one!!

While most 24 V heating and cooling systems are compatible with Nest thermostats, there are some systems that are not. Schedules and detects when youve left premise to knock ac back down (if you wanna configure it that way). Isnt saving me gobs of benjies or anything, but definitely a welcome accessory into the home
