I have purchased two Geek Squad Certified Pixelbooks in the last year. The first was an entry-level i5/8GB/128GB that arrived in excellent condition but suffered from a bad screen flicker. I returned the unit and provided a detailed description of the defect. None of this information was recorded, but the unit was easily returned. The second unit was the top-of-line i7/16GB/512GB Pixelbook that arrived in terrible condition. The outer surface was heavily scuffed and the screen was covered in fingerprints. I was able to clean 90% of the scuffs and clean the screen, but the left USB-C was loose and the speakers were shot. Again, I promptly returned the unit and provided a detailed description of the defects. And, once again, no comments were recorded, but the unit was easily returned.
It is clear that "Geek Squad Certified" means nothing. If you are buying a Geek Squad Certified Pixelbook you are, likely, buying a defective unit that has just been powerwashed but not inspected, cleaned, nor refurbished
It is unfortunate because the Pixelbook is an incredible piece of hardware. I buy from Best Buy because I think that they are a good company. The Geek Squad certification, however, is meaningless.
Will my third attempt to buy a Pixelbook at a more affordable price be rewarded? Time will tell but it would be nice to identify a supplier with a meaningful "certification" program.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Fantastic laptop for the average user

Can't really complain one bit about the performance of this laptop. It boots fast, the battery life is ridiculously awesome, the keyboard, touch pad, and touch screen are responsive and quick, and I can barely feel it in my backpack.
However... I want to be a Google fanboy and say "this laptop has it all!" but I'd be lying about the review. As awesome as Chrome OS is, it still lacks for power users like myself. Sure, I could unlock the OS and do even more, but in today's world, security is important, so I'm not willing to risk it.
For the average user, who surfs the web, checks email, watches videos, plays basic games, this thing is perfect. Unfortunately, I could not replace my everyday laptop with this simply because of the inability (or lack of in the app store) to run certain programs/apps that I need for my job.
Overall- a superbly powerful and lightweight laptop, but just a little too expensive.
